Christmas in a Small Town - HOPE for Big Unity

Merry Christmas

Emmanuel.

A great light appeared...
in a small town called Nazareth.

A nowhere place.
Insignificant.
Unknown.

In the small town, the quiet rest of a baby King filled a manger.

The quiet praise singing out with angels to shepherds in the dead of Night, with his family he welcomed Kings and shepherds.

Beauty, power, testimony and grace are alive and well in small towns.
Small things.
Small places.
Great God.

Our King loves to shine the light of the Gospel in the hearts and lives of all people great and small.

These towns are filled with devoted followers of Jesus.  Men and women who believe and are overcoming the world by their faith in Christ Jesus.  I John 5:1-5.

In all our hearts, and every small town, there are seeds of hope.  Emmanuel lives in us.  A quiet and simply powerful faith is overcoming the world, the hate, the depression, the anger with hope, love and power in the blessings of Jesus Christ.

Just like the Master, we face off against the death captivating the hearts and minds of those all around us.  We bring the word of life and the light of the world, Jesus Christ instead.

Let your small town shine the Light of Jesus.
Open up the manger and let
the Son of God
find a place to rest.

The first snow - Quiet Rest
Hints toward the Rest we find in Jesus.  Find some quiet rest in the Son of God.

"My beloved spoke and said to me,
“Arise, my darling,
my beautiful one, come with me."
 Song of Songs 2:10

The Darkness Turns to Light

Nevertheless, there will be no more gloom for those who were in distress. In the past he humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the future he will honor Galilee of the nations, by the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan—
The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.
You have enlarged the nation and increased their joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice at the  harvest, as warriors rejoice when dividing the plunder.
For as in the day of Midian’s defeat, you have shattered the yoke that burdens them, the bar across their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor.
Every warrior’s boot used in battle and every garment rolled in blood will be destined for burning, will be fuel for the fire.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.
Isaiah 9:1-7

Shine your light however bright it is!
