5 Amazing things about Jesus - Jesus is the Resolution - Not Just a Revolution or a Solution

In Jesus the final resolution of "all things" the unity of all things in the universe is complete and completed in HIM.

Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:

That in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:  Ephesians 1:9-10

Jesus is not just a revolution - when we enter into relationship with him - every other relationship changes.   Our relationship changes to money, time, hope, love, people, the world, things.......

Jesus is not just a solution  - when we enter into following him, trusting him and obeying his teaching everything in our lives begins conforming to his will and good pleasure.   Our relationship to problems and circumstances are no longer an "immediate solution" but steps toward the eternal resolution in HIM.

There are many amazing things to remember and meditate on about Jesus.

Here are 5 to celebrate.

1. When we hated him, reviled him, cared nothing for him Jesus died for us.  He worshiped the Father, doing his will as a living sacrifice.  Romans 5:1-8
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

2. Jesus endured the cross for the joy set before him. Seeing you and I and our redemption in his blood above the sacrifice of the cross he endured it in faith and for the joy of doing the Fathers will.
Heb 12:2  fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

3. Jesus "gave his life for us" it was not taken from him.  He gave it to you and me.
"For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it again. 18"No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father."
 John 10:18

4.  Jesus Fulfilled many prophecies in the course of his life, death, resurrection and ascension to heaven.

There are a couple problems noted with this list but it provides many references.

Odds of Jesus Fulfilling Just 8 Prophecies

Josh McDowell in his book, Evidence That Demands A Verdict, speaks of the probability of just 8 of the Old Testament prophecies being fulfilled in one individual:
“The following probabilities are taken from Peter Stoner in Science Speaks to show that coincidence is ruled out by the science of probability.  Stoner says that by using the modern science of probability in reference to eight prophecies … We find that the chance that any man might have lived down to the present time and fulfilled all eight prophecies is 1 in 10 to the 17th power.  That would be 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000.
In order to help us comprehend this staggering probability, Stoner illustrates it by supposing that we take this many silver dollars and lay them on the face of Texas.  They will cover all of the state two feet deep.  Now mark one of these silver dollars and stir the whole mass thoroughly, all over the state.  Blindfold a man and tell him that he can travel as far as he wishes, but he must pick up one silver dollar and say that this is the right one.  Just the same chance that the prophets would have had of writing these eight prophecies and having them all come true in any one man, from their day to the present time.”
Despite these staggering odds, Jesus Christ fulfilled 300 while on earth (with 200 more yet to be fulfilled).  This leaves no doubt that He is truly the Messiah, God the Son!

5. Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth.  He is the ruler of the world's Kings.
and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood,
He both has the authority and the ability to bring all things into unity.  All things will honor and obey him in perfect righteousness.  The course of history and human story is under the soverignty of the Father.

Life in Jesus unfolds when.... We settle who he is and who we are in Him.

Life in Jesus unfolds when we settle who He is and then who we are in relationship to everything else through him.

 www.jeffreynoldsonedesire.blogspot.com

"he made known to us the mystery of his will
according to his good pleasure,
which he purposed in Christ,
to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment
—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.
 Ephesians 1:10

Everyday we are Following - Walking - Trusting - Abiding - GOing into the vast open wild country of his loving kindness and perfect love in the Lord Jesus.

Settle who his is today.  Settle who you are and how you live by your relationship to him.
We take on Jesus' relationship to all things when we disciple with him.

5 Thorns to Pull from a Wounded Heart - Revive First Love

The Heart is the centerpiece in loving God and walking in zeal and power in the Spirit.

If the heart is wounded, cold, divided,
usually we are not
focused,
wholehearted in zeal,
or on fire with first love.

We are called into love with Jesus first and from the heart.

Jesus valued "first love"as necessary and first above all, alongside, and with
perseverance, hard work, clear discernment,
testing ministries, enduring hardships and not growing weary. (Rev 2:1-3)

A key and significant church was called to repentance over losing first love.
The alternative was "If you do not repent, I will come to you and
remove your lampstand from its place." (Rev 2:5)

Without first love, the whole thing would come crashing down.
His victory, in the witness of a lampstand, gone.
The insides of real relationship with Jesus, gone.
The presence of the Lord, his pleasure,
the glory of an environment overflowing with
hard work, service and love would
lose its most essential and beautiful reality.

First Love and what you and I did at first.

So get back to the beginning.
Back to what you did at first.
No matter how far you've wandered
you can, through the power of grace, faith and forgiveness,
connect with Jesus in a greater way
than you ever have before.

"The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" and let the one who hears say, "Come!"
Let those who are thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life."  Revelation 22:17

Pull these 5 thorns from your heart.   Come back into first love and the presence of the Lord.

 1. Divided Heart - Something is acting like a wedge - splitting your heart in two.
Teach me your way, Lord,
    that I may rely on your faithfulness;
give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear your name.

Ask the Spirit for understanding about what has divided your heart.
When he tells you.  Confess, repent and invite him to pluck out any thorn that has wedged in and divided your Heart.

2. A Downcast Heart - Something in your heart is looking for your attention but getting the cold shoulder.
Down cast is head down, dull emotions, buried stuff that needs to talk with you.   Sometimes that is the Spirit speaking something you are hesitant to walk out.  Sometimes it is our own grieving of what we have lost or left behind.  Whatever it is it wants to talk and can't.  It's being stuffed down and silenced.  Jesus is able to heal anything.  He is not afraid of anything we've done.  He is mighty and able to help us, listen and talk with us through the process of letting what is buried come to resurrection life in him.  The promise in him is that though we were once dead we will rise with him.  Let it out.  Let it go.

3.  The Heart with  - Thorns of Sorrows - something about the way life, trails and circumstances over against promises and prayer have not matched up. It is festering in your heart.
Pull out the thorn that accuses God, just like our accuser the Devil, over the apparent chasim of promise and what we see in the world.  Joseph had ten plus years of struggle against this heart sickness.  But he overcame it with love, service and devotion to the Lord. The first thing in his life was the fragrance of the Good and loving God he devoted his life to.  Our goal is to be and do like Jesus and obey all that he teaches.  That puts us in direct confrontation with many people, spiritual forces of evil, culturally accepted ways and even brothers and sisters in the Lord.

How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
and day after day have sorrow in my heart
How long will my enemy triumph over me?

For look, the wicked bend their bows;
they set their arrows against the strings to shoot
from the shadows at the upright in heart.

4. The Protected Heart that says "it is too much".  Something is taking your heart to the boarders of your strength and ability.  There is an open door here to His strength, love and grace that overcomes the world. I John 5:5

Sometimes we experience life that is so destructive and exasperating in struggle, injustice, physical injustice that our hearts become like water, like wax.  Poured out.  Jesus meets us there as one who knows what this is like.  He also knows the love of the Father there and the triumph of love and grace in such a place.

Pull out the thorn that says you cannot rise up through this most difficult tragic circumstance and live in and through Christ Jesus.

Ask him to restore your heart in waiting, resting and reviving love.
 Psa 22:14
I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart has turned to wax; it has melted within me.
Psa 27:14
Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.

5.  The Despising Heart - Sometimes we despise the very words that would set us free or bring us life and grace.
Psa 106:24
Then they despised the pleasant land; they did not believe his promise.

Don't let the thorn of anger reside overnight in your heart.  Don't let the sun go down on your anger. (Ephesians 4:26)  The paths of life in Jesus are in connection with him, abiding in spirit and truth.  (John 15:5)  When we despise his word, his encouragement, prophetic grace, we cut off our heart from life giving grace, encouragement and the water of life.
Pluck the Thorns causing anger.  Ps 139.  Search me and know me Lord.  Point out any offensive way in me.  Go after peace and focus into the Lord. (Isaiah 26:3)
Psa 119:50
My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.

Fill up the voids with PROMISE and the comfort of the Spirit.

Psa 37:4
Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Psa 105:8
He remembers his covenant forever, the promise he made, for a thousand generations,
Act 2:39
The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
Gal 3:29
If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
2Pe 3:9
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Please continue to pray for the Lord's workers and ministries of Bali.  Pray for outpouring of the Spirit and streams of salvation to flow freely. There were divine appointments, key ministry to weary servants, awesome revived Saints and incredible opportunity for the Gospel.
A quick testimony of healing from the trip.
The Lord prompted me to do something after I went shopping for some breakfast fruit.  A group of women were talking in the family run hotel in which I was staying.  The Lord said, "Go give the kids some fruit".
When I got over there, I greeted and I offered the fruit; asking the moms permission to give it to the kids.  A little boy gladly received it.  There was a little girl missing from the group.  I asked why she was crying last night and still right now a little ways off with her mom.  They said she was sick.
I told them I would ask the Lord Jesus to heal her.  They smiled.   She was a two year old and super cute but today she a sick grumpy little one.   So I prayed a quick prayer.
That night there were No cries. The next morning she was up and running around like before.  All smiles and happiness.   Awesome Jesus.

Orphanage - 250 clothes items given

The next trip is in the mind of the Lord and wings of the Spirit (2016!). Join us in praying for our brothers and sisters and the ministries of Bali.  The church of Ubud and all our friends who follow Jesus there.
Maybe you'll go next time?

Prayer:
1. Encouragement and support in the Spirit for ministers and church leaders, evangelists and YWAM base on Bali.
2. Unity and freedom in and among the Body of Christ.
3. An out pouring of the Spirit upon all who serve Jesus.
4. Open doors for the Gospel and courage for those preaching.
5. Disciple leaders who inspired to raise up the next generation of Balinese Worshipers of Jesus.

Divided Sight - Divided Heart There is a LOVE that Unifies Everything.

Divided Sight Divided Heart - Surrender to the Love of God

A divided heart is painful. Confusing. Stressful.

When the center is divided everything else, mind, soul, strength, gets cloudy.
A haze settles over the pathways and passions of our love and devotion.

The First Mountain to climb when we follow Jesus is to get a whole heart.

A HEART
Knit together in the love of Jesus (Ephesians 3:17-21)
Whole in the pursuit of Love for God (Luke 10:27)
Settled

And He said to him, "What is written in the Law? How does it read to you?" 27And he answered, "YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND; AND YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." 28And He said to him, "You have answered correctly; DO THIS AND YOU WILL LIVE."…

We were made for a whole heart.
The Scripture uses words like "All" and  "Whole" to describe how our hearts are to connect to God in love.   A wholehearted love for Jesus puts speed to your step and freedom in your running.  Soaring becomes the new normal.
Soar from the inside.
See the world in the experience of the love of God.
Remarkable.
The Love of God invites into the the riches and glory of connection, oneness and abiding presence.
We are invited to dwell in love.

The LOVE of God.....An experience in it.
Mountain Tops are always available

Just got off work.
Long day.
I get into my car and decide to put on some worship music.
As I drive the half hour home...
the Spirit falls on me in the car.
I "hear" the words of worship more deeply than ever.
I "hear" the love of God and it pours into my heart.
I join in the worship.
More love pours into my heart.
Overwhelmed, I see into the love of Jesus.
I both feel it and know it.
It is filling me up inside.
Piling up  in me wave after wave.
All of me, heart, mind, soul, strength is caught up in the reality of who Jesus is...
The words keep breaking open new places in my heart.
I weep and cry out as I "see" the love of God; feel it and know it.
For a half hour drive I am completely enveloped in this love.
So overwhelming I can hardly drive.
I arrive at home and park.
I don't want to get out of the car.
I cry out, pray, call out, worship.
This love is beyond compare.
Everything else looks dim in the light and truth and grace of the
LOVE OF GOD.

I learned over years of walking with Jesus, that when grace and outpouring come -- you give yourself to it.

The energy behind the love of God, energy to penetrate our hearts, is beyond imagination.
The Father sent the Son.
The Son gave everything for you and I; to know us in LOVE wholeheartedly.
The Spirit lives in those who confess Jesus as Lord
The closest connection available in life is  God dwelling in us.

Yet, so many resist this love -
The flesh mind, soul, heart and strength are at war with God.
We come to this love broken, in pain, fearful, confused,
Some come filled with hate and murder.  (Acts 9)
Some come having robbed from others - only to rob from themselves the greatest love
Some come beaten down by the worst the world can throw - only to find a love so amazing, penetrating and grace filled it overwhelms the depths of the world's soul stealing lashes and beatings.

There is always opportunity to resist the love of God.
We love God today, in this moment, with a whole heart.
He continues moving upon us all our lives.
Continue the surrender to LOVE.

Full Definition of WHOLEHEARTED

1:  completely and sincerely devoted, determined, or enthusiastic wholehearted
student of social problems>
2:  marked by complete earnest commitment :  free from all reserve or hesitation wholehearted
approval>
whole·heart·ed·ly adverb
The heart is the first place where the love of God settles in.
When we let the imagination, energy, power and grace of the Love of God fill us the way he desires....
A wholehearted love fill us.
You are a Temple of the LOVE of God.  Far more beautiful and everlasting than Solomon's temple, this love shapes you for eternity from the inside out.
1 Chronicles 29:19 and give unto Solomon my son a whole heart, to keep Thy commandments, Thy testimonies, and Thy statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for which I have made, provision.' (See NIV)

The Love of God invites us to "build a palace" of presence, abiding, worship and prayer.
Don't miss the opportunity.

The Kingdom of Jesus is easy to walk in.
Today, lay it all down again.
Surrender.
There is no passivity in experiencing and welcoming the love of God.

Throw down your crown and find worship first in your heart.
Start with thankfulness.
Ask to "SEE AGAIN"
Let open the door.
Hear the knock?
Let in the visitation.
Jesus just needs a welcome.
He is a good Shepherd.
Receive Him as he is...today....right now.

Losing heart is a real possibility along the roadways of following Christ.

Leave your "little Pharisee" on the roadside.

I've found mine teaching me to lose heart at the doorways of the Kingdom.

Christ in the House of Simon the Pharisee, c.1656

Philippe de Champaigne

As I was exalting and lifting up the ancients for their exploits, admiring and praising them and comparing myself; I was also marveling at those who "turn back" or don't appreciate the amazing wonders of Jesus.

Shocked that "others" could not go the distance, my little Pharisee patted me on the back with words of praise and assurance that "you are not like them". I believed him.

My inner Pharisee always thinks I can do it better.
Better than Peter?  Absolutely.  No problem.

Then I reach a spot in the road, in ministry, on my journey that I just want to sit down and say "this is good enough".

A "far enough or good enough" spot is typically warm and sunny and lacking the challenges of the sufferings of our Lord.  A green pasture zone that I want to cling to and hold over in; letting go of following Jesus as first love.

My little pharisee wants me to settle down into that kind of spot.  Leave off following and walking and standing in the Spirit and call it "being a disciple".  While Jesus moves on down the road and I loose sight of him.

Learn to recognize when the energy and zeal goes out of your walk with Jesus.

My little pharisee wants me to admire "me" for all my accomplishments.  Which by the way are really Jesus' accomplishments.

"Lord, you establish peace for us;
all that we have accomplished you have done for us."  Isaiah 26:8

Then he would have me chill in a "righteous passivity".   I understand this place.  I can understand it.  A place I can rest, catch up, gather myself.
He tells me I deserve it.  Tells me I earned it.  "Common", he says, "you've worked hard enough, given enough."

It is all PASSIVITY for me.  Agreeing with my inner Pharisee that the road is to heavy.  And he is good at making it look like devotion;  to settle me into passivity.

Self satisfied in my accomplishment of some religious standing, I want to pull up along side the road and let others do the lifting.

In doing so, I typically leave off
The sufferings of Christ
The Kingdom first
His righteousness first
They appear to costly for me to go on.
My flesh has the reigns at this point.

I lost Heart.

And then religion, my little Pharisee, condemnation and shame show up knocking at my door.  The Door Jesus knocks on. Rev 3:20

We live in such amazing promise through Jesus Christ
First, I lose heart.  Then I chose places along the road to stop.  Go passive.  Places to draw back into my own strength, understanding and initiative.

Then my little Pharisee starts jabbering away.  Never a promise or a faith venture is spoken by him.  Then my zeal starts fading.  Then my initiative seems to be choked out.  One thing builds on another and I find myself predicting the worst and seeking survival over HOPE, Faith and LOVE.

Losing heart is a real possibility along the roadways of following Christ.

The Apostles mention it because it is a real threat to the power filled devotion and zeal we naturally carry when clearer pictures and abundant abiding with Christ fill up our hearts and minds.

Through these pathways the greats we admire went with bold and courageous faith in Christ our Lord.  So also did everyone who gained eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ.

There are some ordinary things we can cling to...

Jesus, Abiding and first things.  John 15
Go back to running through the fields of first love.
Remember what you did at first.  Restore it to your life.

Pathways in the ways of God are simply places to walk and regularly find grace, hope, faith and love.   We would be wise to build our walk in such things.
1. First Love -  Revelation 2  Ephesian Church
2. Kingdom and Righteousness first   Matthew 6:33
3. Abiding presence and prayer -  I Tim 2:1-2

Remembering that....

1. Grace is always sufficient- When the enemy, our hearts, the sheer weight of life's pressures and troubles weigh into us, a promise rings out over the noise.  "My grace is sufficient".   I Cor 12:8-9   Sufficient is an interesting word.  Could be said to mean "always just enough".  Look back over your journey with the Lord.  Has there always been enough?  We have enough with Jesus to walk where he leads.  His grace fills us up with a measure for the moment.

"Don't let your heart be troubled, you trust in God, trust also in me." John 14:1

2. No temptation has seized us but what is common.  I Corinthians 10:13
The most common grace is sufficient to lead us onward to glory, blessing and eternal life. Our Father is the perfect gardener.  He knows our limitations and true boundaries.  He always provides a way of escape in any temptation and he will not let us go into something beyond our ability.
Anyone with little kids knows what this is like.  Parents lead children into growing opportunities but not into ways that would destroy them.  If we know how to do this certainly God the Father knows how to do this with us.  It is good to settle this issue early on in following Jesus.  So many more doorways and opportunities for power open us to us when we know that we are "IN THE FATHERS LOVE."

3. Eternal life starts now.  So does the power of every promise in Christ.
We forget what we are living for, an eternal Kingdom and eternal life in Jesus. That life starts eternally as soon as we come into the Kingdom through faith in Christ. We are living eternal life now.  It is not some far off "going to heaven when you die" faith that we are living.  It is a NOW FAITH.  A faith actively participating in the coming Kingdom of Jesus Christ.  A faith actively Going, Disciple-ing and Teaching the Kingdom in Christ through the Gospel.  We are carrying this Kingdom everywhere we go.  As soon as the Kingdom calling of Jesus is moved off the pinnacle of our lives we move out of the narrow way.

4. Settling for the "good enough" along the way is to leave the WAY.
There is perpetual motion in the Kingdom of God.  It is marked by following Jesus. Walking in the Spirit and Teaching all who welcome us to obey the commands of Christ is the air of the Kingdom.
Go - Disciple - teaching to obey  Matthew 28:18-20
The words that describe our journey in the Lord are action focused.
Go -  Walk -  Follow
We forget that being a disciple is follow a living Jesus.   He is in motion in the earth today through the leading of the Holy Spirit.
We are called to "walk".  We are called to have motion in our discipleship.

Jesus is never passive.

Jesus is not seeking a resting place.  He rests in the Father.
We are called into the same rest in the work of Jesus.
Hebrews 4 - there is a rest.  Our salvation work is complete in Christ.
We are becoming what he has made us for.

Go for what you were made for....

We must add Psalm 144 to our list of activities.
