3 Kingdom Keys and ONE Secret that Unlocks Everything

First there is ONE most important secret to recognize.

Jesus is the secret.  The mystery revealed that unlocks everything.

10When he was alone, the Twelve and the others around him asked him about the parables. 11He told them, The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you.
But to those on the outside everything is said in parables
12so that,
“ ‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving,
and ever hearing but never understanding;
otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!”

Jesus is the Secret.

"My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."  Colossians 2:2-3

If you want to unlock your life....

"Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it."  Matthew 10:39

If you want to enrich your life endlessly, day after day with rivers....

"Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them."

Jesus preached, "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand."

The rule and reign of God is right here, right now.
As close as my hand.

Today the Kingdom of God is still just as close.
It is a highway of victory.
It is a boundless, abundance of God's loving kindness.
It is powerful victory in Jesus.

Is it defeat for.....

Death  -  in all it's forms

Sin - in it's power to shape our lives and the world
Devil  - in his power to enslave us in captivities of hopelessness

Here are 3 Keys of the Kingdom that are sure to root your and establish you in love.

1. The Key of Source.  Jesus is everything - Get your everything going in him.  Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End.  Start your life, your day, your hope, your identity, you joy, your happiness in Jesus.  You'll end everything with forever.  Forever is a lot more time than 30-90 yrs on earth.  And in Jesus the Father satisfies the deepest desires of our hearts.

Without him we can do nothing in the Father's heart.  Everything begins and ends in HIM.

Headwaters of the Metolius River OR

2. The Key of LOVE. Never ending is the steadfast love of God.  We need to learn the love that flows from heaven.  It is tasty and tangible.  It can overwhelm us and redirect our heart.  It shines bright in Jesus and it is uniquely focused on us.  Love, the kind God brings, is filled up and overflowing with his character and presence.  God is love.  He is also holy, pure, wise, forgiving, and peaceful.  So is his love.  Three things last faith, hope and LOVE.

Open up the headwaters of LOVE - Metolius. River.  Love just gushes out of everything God does.  Be like him and love.  I Corinthians 13.  Still an awesome picture of God's love and the focus and actions of our love.

3. The Key of FAITH.  Faith drives the action of every valuable thing in the Kingdom of God.  What is amazing about the Kingdom is we all have seeds and talents or as the disciples found loaves and fishes.
The Kingdom is about using what we have.  Taking good stock of the person we are and the resources available to us and going after something that requires God to really make it happen.  Faith activates the vision to do the impossible.  And God loves faith.  He is pleased when we trust him and step out onto the waters of his NAME to do something.
Remember Jesus is the beginning of everything flowing from the Kingdom.  Yet in some mystery way he plants inside us desire, dreams and ability to bring into reality something that empowers and blesses many.   Step out with what you have.  Watch him multiply it.

Bonus Key!  HOPE

4. The Key of HOPE provides the streams, rivers, lakes and ponds of grace for people to swim in and find his peace.
Jesus dolls out peace to the world.  A kind of peace that is not available anywhere else.

Faith is what waters the seeds God places into our life.
Faith comes by hearing the Word of God and the testimony of what he's done.
Be assured we all have seeds to plant from God.

The key to releasing the Kingdom of the Lord is "Go and see what you Have".
If you take stock of what you have right now you will find the seeds to the future.  All you need to do is mix that grace with faith and God's heart gets poured on the world.  You and I work in it as co-laborers with Christ.

Take a new step into the depths and riches of knowing Jesus.  Pray.

Start today.  5 mins listening to or reading the Scripture and Psalm 27:14 wait for the Lord.
Grab some time and steal away with Jesus.
He is remarkable to be around.
You will tap into the grace of God.

I Want to Learn the Ways of Those who Make Jesus their Everything.

I don't remember how it happened.

Somehow I latched on to Psalm 144.  I felt the Holy Spirit affirming and calling my focus into the reality of the Psalm.

At first it was wonder and new insights.
Then it turned to praying as battle and overcoming endurance.   Patient endurance.

In it all my heart had to be shored up with "don't lose heart" and some healing.  The refining fires of grace and love were stirring things up.  Dross rose to the top I needed freedom to continue on in the paths Jesus opened before me.  And he healed my heart at each step required.

I discovered He wanted to write on my life a whole new understanding of prayer.

And as time has gone forward, I am understanding he wants to write a whole new understanding of love, faith, and hope in me.  Something that lasts forever.  Standing the test of time and life here on earth.  Something that carries into eternal life and shines bright in the hope and work of Jesus.

The Backdrop

I've been exploring prayer all my life.  Literally and with intention and purpose, I've explored prayer, devotion, grace and overcoming in the secret place for 40 plus years.

Prayer is truly the most exciting reality of my walk with Jesus.

I've had countless beautiful and impacting encounters with Jesus in prayer.

Over and over and over again, I've found wells deepening.   So deep, that my wonder and hunger regularly expand and vibrantly morph.

New insights into the Word of Scripture and the Word of Life spring up and open whole new understanding of Jesus.  Prayer consistently brings me into the presence of God and the abundance of his way.  It pulls me closer to consistency in the presence of God and links steps of love and revelation.

As I look back I realize, I've had many more significant experiences with the Lord Jesus in personal prayer than in any revival meetings or gatherings I've been in, all told all counted.

I'm committed to the ministry of the Holy Spirit, to mission, and to being with the Saints in Sunday celebrations and other meetings.  I've been in many very impacting and significant gatherings when the Holy Spirit is moving remarkably.

All told they cannot come close to the consistent and deep waters of my walk with Jesus in prayer.

I have a log of dreams I am unpacking.  I have a book of prophetic grace I am praying over.  I have a whole exciting remarkable plate of Kingdom opportunities to share.   The love of Jesus and the Gospel fresh and new every day.   In and through it all the riches and rooted-ness of finding myself abiding in prayer with Jesus unites, strengthens and pours manifold wisdom into all of it.

My personal sojourn in prayer is more impacting for my walk with Jesus than....anything else I do.

Jesus said,
"What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs."  Matthew 10:27

Now, having said that, you need to understand my prayer life is more like an ocean than a lake or stream.

I do all kinds of things in prayer and allow it to encompass a wide and diverse flow of so many things.  It never dries up.

Worship, Scripture, Devotion, Waiting, Listening, Resting, HOPEing, praying, interceding, supplicating, abiding, on and on the list goes and so also on and on the open doors to eternal life knowing the Father, the Son and the Spirit.  (John 17:3)

I change locations.  I change approaches to Scripture.  I pray in season, doing different things in different times as required to advance.

I guess, the most important thing I have ever learned in walking with Jesus is to pray.

One hour flies by.  I've been leading 24 hr prayer events for 6 years now.  We partner with 10-20 churches and worship and pray for 24 hrs straight.  The flood gates of blessing and favor of unity and partnership have deepened with each event.  The wells of grace and joy in each one of these 24 hrs increases desire and hunger for all that prayer opens.  Many worship leaders, intercessors and praying pastors help out and attend.

I've also noticed a trend in these prayer burns, prayer gatherings and meetings.  The leaders are there.  But the people are not.

In general, in our region about the same number of people are part of a large church prayer gathering as a small church prayer gathering.  Large churches and small, the numbers appear to be about the same for prayer houses, prayer meetings, city meetings and 24hr burns.

Conclusion, the prayer movement is not connecting with the average believer.

Recently my friend from Uganda, Anthony Kinalwa, was with me in Redmond OR.  He lives and breathes an overcoming prayer life.  As we talked, he described the missional realities he and his team exercise in prayer.  I realized we cannot keep plowing forward with all our prayer events, gatherings, initiatives without some serious regrouping.

We need the people involved in prayer.  We need to go back and gather up the prayer lives of the average disciple and re-light it with the wonder and awe of abiding in Jesus and overcoming the world.

To see the prayer movement expand into even more glorious grace and consistency, we need to equip the people again in prayer.

I remember getting the message loud and clear as a young and new disciple.  The youth leaders called us out to early morning prayer.  Cold, crisp mornings, while it was still dark, we gathered and pursued Jesus.  Early and at the start of the day we read out Psalm 5.  Give ear to my word oh Lord.  We wanted Jesus.  We wanted to learn the ways of those who make him their everything.

But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.  Matthew 6:6

Total assumption.  Disciples will be praying.  Totally assumed in the life of Jesus, prayer is the avenue of habitation and overcoming victory.

Hebrews 5:7-9  I received the message through the many faithful and blessed Saints of my early days in Christ.

They drove home the secret place, prayer, scripture, and devotions.

Everyday dining on the wonders of Christ, the door was open.  The invitation to his presence was set forever.   The deeper reality of the need to be in vital "all the time prayer connection" with Jesus was drilled home.  (John 15)   I am grateful they faithfully deposited in me the heart of discovery and the conviction of the path of prayer.

So, where have these voices gone?

How do we re-capture the compelling truths of prayer, presence and power?

Psalms 144 was not the first venture into a season of learning about prayer or to deeper links to life in Jesus.  It did open my eyes fresh and new.  It carried me into a whole new path of discovery.

A path of intimate and perfect love, prayer is both. Warring for the grace and overcoming victory in promise. Abiding in the steadfast love of God.  This is the good fight of advancing the kingdom.

One thing is certain.  We have to go after prayer, learn it, and continue in the course of his presence.  It is a winding path, narrow and simple, and at the same time rich and complex.  Prayer deserves our investment.  Prayer deserves our intention and our focus.  It is not part of a condemning measurement of time.  It is the very air of God's presence and the glorious atmosphere of his loving kindness.

How's your 24?
How's your prayer walk?
Sowing into prayer is the greatest avenue for consistent joy in Jesus than any other thing out there.

Giving God More than You Thought You Ever Had

The end of our rope is the beginning of Kingdom glory, grace and empowerment in the Spirit.

As much as we deem ourselves revivalists, we have fences, boarders, and constructed life that can hold us back from the new things God is doing and the new waves of his Spirit.

When new things start springing up, will we see, move, change, and respond?

We tell ourselves we will.  But the truth meets us when we are faced with the Fullness of Christ a fresh.
When we have opportunity to enter into the new, the past and our fixed present boarders tend to tell us we don't have the strength for such things.  In truth we don't.  But as in the past, the Spirit renews, refreshes and empowers us into the new with life giving power as we respond to God in faith.

He is always turning the DAY into the WAY.  Turning visitation into habitation.

A move of the Holy Spirit is always predicated by pouring oneself out as a drink offering.

When the Spirit moves our lives typically face a boarder of some kind.

What we have not been able to give.

We limit the free flowing river of love and grace by holding our resources instead of generously pouring them out to God as an offering.  We evaluate our abilities based on the flesh and not the Spirit, on the world and not the Kingdom of boundless victory.  A generous free flow of giving is the river we need free flowing in our spirit.

What we have not been able to go past in strength or life change.
There is no limitation in the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.  But we shore ourselves up and build around us immovable provisions for the flesh.  When in fact a move of the Holy Spirit makes no provision for the flesh.  Strength from God is provided when we walk in faith and strength from God is needed.  Often we simply limit ourselves for our own comfort and perceived resources.  God's resources are unlimited.  Let faith and new action knock down the fences of our perceived strength.  When it does, remarkably, we receive a new strength, new doorways, new power in the Spirit.

What we have constructed for consolation and physical resting.
We build lifestyles around us in balance and then overlook the wisdom of the new things God is doing.  They cry out for the air of the Fullness of Christ but find the limiting boarders of our strength.  Crying out is wisdom saying,

"I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength."

We say we are acting in wisdom, when in fact we are acting in earthly wisdom and a fleshly mindset.  When the Spirit moves, the best response is "yes God".  He will be all the provision, strength, power we need to walk abundantly.  Earthly wisdom calculates based on present physical and mental resources.  These are not the calculations of the Holy Spirit in the wisdom, truth and power of the work of Jesus Christ.  Resurrected power is what drives the Saints.  Ascension sight and wisdom is what fuels the hope and walking of the Saints.  Worldly wisdom is foolishness to God.

The will of God is our strength.  The love of God is our country.  The power of God is our surrender and hope and life and breath.

Sometimes, all we need is a new season change. Something as simple as a schedule change or doing what we've told ourselves we do not have the strength for.....

The simplicity of the Holy Spirit is clearly portrayed as steps, as walking.  Walk in the Spirit.  It is tangible simple next action.  Action described as walking.  Walking requires steps.  Steps into what?  The Spirit is so clear in directing and leading us, yet we are commanded to see the new thing as it springs up

The invitation to Fullness in Christ is going to smash every fence, boarder, limitation, presented and invite us into the place of MORE.

Unless the seed falls into the ground and dies.....

To live in a move of the Spirit requires......

A yes.

An ending.

A Welcome

A Surrender

A step of faith

Look forward with eyes filled with Abundance, Boundless, Victorious vision in Jesus.
