7 Things to Remember About the LOVE of God in YOU, for You.

 Why Did Jesus take hold of you?
United, invited to dwell forever in his loving kindness, perfect salvation and eternal favor. 
Only you can love him like you do. 
There is always an open door

Finger prints, one of a kind.  Soul, body, spirit, mind one of a kind.  Heart after God, one of a kind.  There is no one else like you on earth.  So no one can love him like you do.  Ps 139
Your voice in worship is like no other on earth or in heaven.  He is jealous for you.  He is so close he knows your words before they leave your mouth.  He knows every hair on your head.   He knows your life inside and out.  You are fearfully and wonderfully made for a relationship with God.  

"Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God. "Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows." Luke 12:7

You have a unique ability to witness to the saving grace of his Kingdom. 
As you are one of kind so you are a living reality of the triumph of Jesus in the world through salvation.  Your struggles overcome by the grace of God witness to the powers and principalities that Jesus is Lord and Savior of all.  Every struggle overcome in him becomes a living testimony that will last forever.  We will wear them as worship and testimony forever in eternal dwellings.  Fight the good fight with zeal.  Galatians 1:11-16
 


Your life speaks a unique word of love among a trillion other people in the world. 
The Father in heaven is an artist.  He creates people one of a kind.  He brings to the world, through them, a fragrance perfectly unique and mysterious.  While he fashions us individually his love calls us into deep relationship and family with those who love him.   The deepest fellowship on earth is in his kingdom family.  As much as the world rejects Jesus it rejects us.  Yet, there is a troupe of called out ones that see the love of God filling up our lives and they gain strength, encouragement, hope, and more love seeing it in us.    John 17:6-11


You are being made ready as a bride. Uniquely your life shines with the deepest relationship possible in God through Christ Jesus. 


The Father is preparing a Bride for the Lord Jesus.  His Church.  Made ready for the wedding day.  The greatest feast ever thrown will be thrown by the Father, for the Son, in the Spirit.  Jesus is waiting to drink from the one cup once more in heaven with us.  At the Wedding Feast of the Lamb we will be united forever with the Lord.  United, invited to dwell forever in his loving kindness, perfect salvation and eternal favor.

"Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,”a for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’b or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

For God so loved....Jesus took hold of you because of love. 
Jesus is building a family of people around the world who are devoted to his will in the world.  It is difficult for the fleshly mind to grasp the true nature of the love of God.  It is equally difficult for the flesh to let go and give in to trust, love, hope and walk by faith not by sight.  Yet it is the simplest of all graces for the new man or new woman, the new creation, to walk in the Spirit.  It is the natural state, heavens ways, for the new creation.  Sow to the Spirit and the flesh has no place to dwell.  We stumble our way through guilt, performance, shame and condemnation and find scraps of his love.  But when we surrender and let the mind of Christ inform us, heaven itself fills us up with deep understanding of his love and his ways.  The oxygen of heaven is pure breathable life for the new creation.  Only heavens air can satisfy and sustain the mind of Christ and Christ in you the hope of glory.  Col 1:27


You are the focus of his loving kindness and favor. 
God walked with Adam and Eve in the Garden.  He loves walking with us.  Talking about everything.  Knowing everything we are willing to share.  He knows us completely but waits for us to offer ourselves and what we want him to know.  There is a circle of love and revealing that opens up and flows freely when we share the secrets of our hearts with God.  He wants us to be in perfect unity with the Trinity.  John 17:23  



In Christ you will live forever in the fullness of his love





The doors are wide open to the fulness of the love of God in Jesus Christ.  We have a lifetime to explore his loving kindness.  We have our lives to learn the ways of God and let the Spirit fill up our lives in the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.  Truly our lives are hidden in him in the heavens.  We have to search for it.  We are called to be the world's greatest treasure hunters.  Seekers.  Hunters.  Going after the fullness of life hidden in Jesus.  The measure with which we acquire heaven on earth is the measure which will be revealed when we appear before him.  (Colossians 3:1-3)  And....God always does more than we ask or imagine.  So I imagine we receive much more, a multiplied abundance, for the stewarding of our talents in his name. 

Peter began to say to Him, "Behold, we have left everything and followed You." 29Jesus said, "Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel's sake, 30but that he will receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life.…  Mark 10:29 




That is a reward worth all the temporary struggles and suffering. 
Paul called them "light and momentary struggles" out weighed by the grace of glory.  And so they are.  An eternal perspective lifts our eyes out of the moment and into the reality of heaven.  We are called to worry only about today. To trust for today's provision.  To eat the manna of the day.  This is actually freedom.  As we fall into the loving arms of the Father of Heaven and trust we find a joyous freedom to bask in his love and enjoy all the graces of his boundless kingdom.  When we carry the weight of this world on us we get crushed under the heavy stones.  Many believers do not see enough of heaven to grasp the temporary nature of their struggles.  This is what we need....


For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
20Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Satan Wants to Sift You? What? How does that work?

Jesus said something like this to Peter.
I have prayed for you.   You are going to go through it...Be Sifted...but when you return take care of your brothers.






Sobering.  
But Peter did not think he would deny Jesus.  
But he did. 
This rocked him to the core.  
This stripped him of every pretense and high thought he ever had.
He denied Jesus three times. 
Publicly. Three times.  Just as Jesus said he would. 










Insight: The stripping of trials, the sifting, allows us to let loose delusions and pretensions that hinder the fulness of the Gospel in us.  
I've heard it said and have said it myself, "I've lost everything."
When in fact we have gained eternal life and refined grace and glory in Jesus.


Remember what Peter said to Jesus, "Lord I will die with you." 
Peter meant it.  That is how he saw himself. 
But there were other things still in the way of the devotion Jesus required. 


The simple facts of walking after Jesus are clear.  
Jesus is the standard of righteousness.  
We are coming into greater and greater understanding and encounter with his love.
Peter had run into this previously...."Get behind me Satan. You do not have the things of God in mind."   
He made the first and greastest confession in human history, "You are the Christ. The Son of the Living God." 
And then saw how high and wide and deep is the love of God in the wise plans of the Father through Jesus. 
 
Like Peter we stumble and sometimes fall so hard that things get mixed up inside us.  

The First thing to get mixed up is our hearts.  
Religion.  Self righteousness.  
The thoughts we carry about our ability to fulfill righteousness...
Start the knock on the door in earnest. They seek to invade our hearts. 
We are commanded to "guard our hearts." 
This must be a key reason for such a command.

We see again -  we are lost without Jesus and his work covering us. 
We see again  - the reality of his redeeming love.
We see again  - that even if our hearts condemn us, the power of the Gospel is right there.....


"We will know by this that we are of the truth, and will assure our heart before Him 20in whatever our heart condemns us; for God is greater than our heart and knows all things. 21Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God..." I John 3:20

"Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died--more than that, who was raised to life--is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us."  Rom 8:34
 


Jesus is always right here....


  • Welcoming us into the Fathers heart.
  • Opening up our lives with freedom through his blood.
  • Dropping buckets of grace filled forgiveness over us in waves.
  • Cleansing us and washing us anew.
  • Reminding us that truly it is by grace we are saved.  
  • Again and Again and again we are saved by grace. 


When our hearts condemn us.

1. Find the place of abiding rest. 
Don't rest until you do.  Press in. Exercise grace in your life.  
Run after mercy and forgiveness.  Welcome the Spirit to call out what is in your heart.  Slow down.  Rest in the presence.  Abide again.  
Abiding is in the presence purchased for us in Jesus.  He completed a perfect abiding work.  We never have to leave the presence!  

In repentance and rest is our salvation.  
For thus the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, has said, "In repentance and rest you will be saved, In quietness and trust is your strength." But you were not willing, 16And you said, "No, for we will flee on horses," Therefore you shall flee! "And we will ride on swift horses," Therefore those who pursue you shall be swift.… Isaiah 3015f

Look to what you are declaring and saying in response to the challenges and difficulties you are facing.  


2. Find the place of resting peace in the Lord's arms.

He will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you." Isaiah 26:3

"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.  John 14:27

As the Lord commands, fear in the heart is deadly for zeal, passion and the knowledge of the Lord.  Drive it out.  Don't let it take up a seat in your heart.  If it has the Spirit is able to lead you through getting free.  The opposite of fear is trust.  
Let trust return to your heart.  Focus in on these things......

Jesus is trustworthy   -  "I am the Way."
Jesus is trust-able  - "I am the Truth"
Jesus is leading me (John 14:6)


3. Remember - Heart surgery is a process.  Remember what he has done.
Rest and resting is one of the great gifts of Kingdom citizenship.  Learning to remain there requires regular heart check ups.  Sometimes the Spirit allows the enemy to sift us and we feel the deep stripping.  It is a deep work of love and grace and requires time and focus.   We want the heat to shut off.  We want the pressure to end.  But it is working its work for the glory of God.  

James promises us.....

"...knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." James 1:3-4

Jesus is seeking to bring us into perfection.  The kind that is in heaven.  The kind he died for.  Let him do his perfect work through the power of the Holy Spirit.  



He's got you.  
No one can snatch you out of his hand.
Surrender
Come into the abiding place of his presence and find rest for your soul.



Testify to yourself.  Remind yourself of all the amazing things Jesus has done.  Tell of his wonders.  Speak of his goodness.  Tell yourself about the miracles, stories of his love.  Remind your soul who Jesus is.  


4. WORSHIP - Declare the praises of him who loves us.  
Once your heart is worshiping again you can be assured you are moving back into the country where you belong.  The unbounded Kingdom of the rule and reign of Jesus. 
1 Timothy 4:9-10
It is a trustworthy statement deserving full acceptance. For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers.

Enjoy it.  Say those things that resonate in the Word and speak volumes of truth about the Father, Jesus and the Spirit.  Say them out loud.  Find a place in open country and speak them out loud.  Tell them to the hills.  Shout them to the mountains.   He is Alive!  He lives in you.

Bali Indonesia 2015 - Set a Fire Down in My Soul

A friend of our host here in Bali dropped off a book this morning. 
It was an account of the revival in Bali 
and Indonesia in the late 60's and 70's. 


I've read another book about these times.  





Wonderful times.  
But a long time ago.

The Lord has a number of Saints here stirred in soul and heart for Bali.
They need our prayers, encouragement and mission support.

 This is a wild country.  Wild in the Spirit.  Wild in nature.
This is one of the most lusciously beautiful places I have ever been in the world.
No wonder people flock here by the millions.














Ps 24 Enter King of Glory
But the little flock here in Bali appears under siege.   
Upon arrival we were told about the limited number of believers on the Island.
1% or less.   A few days later "60,000 are all the believers here out of 4 million or so that populate the island."  This from a pulpit hosting about 20 people.  A morning pulpit with about a 100.    Sometimes wild HOPE, faith and LOVE are in order.  A great light dawned on the world.  Jesus lights up everywhere he goes.  He is with us, his own.  We carry his presence.  The Lord saves by many or by few.  He altered the reality of the world with 12 apostles and 108 disciples in an upper room.  They waited for power.  They pressed into the only hope they had.  The Lord Jesus Christ and his promises.  


God's, idols, shrines and offerings are everywhere.

In the Spirit it is easy to see the all the gates set up to hinder, stop, arrest and break the voice of the Gospel.  Clearly fear is set into the hearts of the Saints.  Is it much different in America where we have freedom of speech and no conviction?  Gates telling us we cannot preach freely? 

The Lord Jesus is never hindered in his desires and breakout.  
There is always and open door.  
In a land of 10,000 gates there will always be open doors for the Saints through the Spirit.  
We found many.  


The Holy Spirit and the King of Kings is not under siege. 

Jesus said, "I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it."  Mtt 16:18

Prevailing against the gates requires preaching the message of salvation in Jesus Christ.  It is so evident in a besieged culture.  Jesus is the one true power and the amazing grace. 

We went to one of the only churches with a building in Ubud Sunday night.  We met and prayed with wonderful believers from around the world.  There were a few Balinese.  This was a evening service. 

A city of 30,000 and the one Up here in the lush beauty of Tampaksaring, about 40 minuets from Ubud, is the home of the oldest temple on the Island.   It is also the one location in Bali where the Presidential palace fills up the hills above the ancient temple.

Tampaksiring is also a place with no visible presence of the church.  
That is no building.  No visible gathering place for the Saints. 
Most assuredly Jesus has his people here.  But they appear hidden.   None of the believers knew of another believer in the area.  A ripe field for harvest; an amazing opportunity for the bright light of the Lord Jesus to break forth with salvation.

Jesus has surely planted his servants in Bali.  And he has planted a witness of his love, power, voice and grace in the hills of the jungle in the cities and villages.  

Now he is starting a new fire in the hills of Tampaksiring.  He has set aside a piece of land, a home, a house for his dwelling place.  A place of beauty and grace where the prayers of the Saints echo out over the ravines and jungle green.   Established in a miracle.   Sustained by him alone, this beautiful outpost for passionate and whole heated pursuit of Jesus Christ was sending out a new sound of praise, worship, love and devotion to the Savior Jesus.   The witness of his Name in Bali is rooted and established.  The cry of the heart reaching our hearts is that the Lord Jesus loves Bali and Indonesia as a nation. 

April 27, 2015 
Early in the morning the hills and valleys are being filled with the sounds of worship.  We noticed that even the slightest sound of temple instruments went out over the jungle.  We set about bringing the proclamation of the Lord Jesus in the power of the Spirit.  Sounds of declaration and truth about the nature of God's heart for Bali, rang out over the jungle morning after morning.  Jesus the great King, the Name above all Names filling up the air with insights and prophecy's.   The cry of "He comes like wind, rain, fire and oil." is filling up hearts with breakthrough and with love. 


What is the value of prayer?  What is the true convictions of it's power and place in the workings of the Kingdom of God?  




   
A new fire is being set in the hills of Tampaksiring.  A fire of love and devotion in Jesus Christ is breaking out in the mountains.   Freedom is spilling out over the mountains with rivers and streams and the waters of life.   A house of prayer is being established where a faithful Saint has endured years of patient contenting.   The Spirit has brought together people for his glory and to re-light hearts of love in Jesus that knows no boundaries. 

He is our peace who has broken down every wall.

There is no other Name under Heaven by which men are saved.  

Come Lord Jesus. Fill the earth with the truth of your Name and the powerful work of your Spirit.

Beauty, Glory, Hope and Sorrow - Bali is Wild Beauty - Mission 2015

Bali is wild beauty. 
It draws millions of visitors.  




Bali has a measure of glory
Glory is different from beauty.  Beauty is inherent in creation and speaks of the Father's character and nature.  Glory is not automatic.
Glory is the manifest presence.  Resident in all living things, the Glory of God emerges in faith, hope and love.  Glory emerges in the welcome, the embrace of the rule and reign of Jesus.
It shines in unity, oneness, love and the Kingdom manifest in us.

Bali is searching for her glory.  A few bright lights.  Many dimly lit.
The called out ones are hard pressed and there are a 1000 gates to prevail against.

The glory is often stolen.

After a large building project near a local village, those leasing the land thought it would be great to welcome the village up for a celebration and party.  Possibly a 1000 people, the heart hope was to build a relationship, bless and welcome the village into the property.  The cost was $5000.00.  Everyone was approached and all agreed this would be fantastic.  Those leasing the property were excited to offer something in friendship to the Balinese village.  The land owner (only Balinese can
own land - others lease for 20-25 years) was given the money to make preparations for the party.  HE STOLE IT ALL.  The party never happened.   The Villagers blamed the leasee.  They began to steal and despise the tenants of the new property.  A promise not fulfilled.  A hope of all trashed by short sighted greed.  And there is no justice for the money stolen.  The ones who lost it were foreigners.
Glory lost to greed, theft, racism, and fatherless fathers.    

Bali is rich in hope. 
The complexities of life here have not overwhelmed hope.
It is expressed everywhere.  People are making a way in this radically changing economic and social environment.  Hope is alive for something better.
Yet it appears that someone is always loosing with the "advances".

It appears to be the Balinese.  Om swastiastu - good morning, nice to meet you in Ubud town...30 mins from Tampaksiring get you a blank stare.  The language of Bali is being forced into the jungle.
Many run to Bali for the opportunities, the freedom, the ability to live and have hope. They do find a measure of it.  But it looks like table scraps to me.  Slim pickings.

When hope in Christ is endlessly beat down with religion and the fires of love are quenched along with the Holy Spirit the heart grows very sick.  Hope starves in the thin air of a lack of his presence.

Jesus is filled with hope.  He always carries hope, faith and love.
His presence is alive with creative wonder and belief.
He always sees a way.
When spiritual environments are closed down to the fire in his eyes hopes flame grows dim.
The spirit of python squeezes tighter and tighter with every exhale.
Come Holy Spirit and light new fire. Expand the atmosphere with your love and beauty. 

Good News.  IN Jesus hope remains.  In Christ Jesus hope is eternal fire.  In Jesus we overcome the world.  In Jesus love, grace, mercy, hope and faith stream endlessly to the open heart. 


Bali is a refuge. 
Many believers from other islands where persecution is violence come to Bali to a make a life

The lush jungle hides vipers. 
Glory is the natural beauty of a given thing in creation shining forth within it designed fullness in Christ.
