One clear thing about this process, it has moved the country to clearer belief. What each one believes and what each is willing to do in and about that belief is front and center.
This is the heart and soul of how I understand the American political system. People participate and are moved with vision and belief in an environment of freedom and voice, fueled by high and principled values. Empowered to be citizens and awake to the real life experiences of the "many more", Americans live a human dream.
Occasionally the chest opens and the heart is exposed.
Change makes an appearance at such opportunities. When the calcified paths no longer fuel the imagination or the heart. When people's raw opinions erupt, and when the poor are recognized, a unique opportunity exists for glory and grace to touch the human condition.
Yes. The void can be filled with all kinds of lessor and evil action. But we don't live in a society of apes. There is true love and service across all political spectrum for this country and her people.
Scripture says we are the elect. It may be an opportune moment to dig deeply into the big why of our election. Was it for a temporal political moment or an eternal Kingdom?
It's time to make our calling and election sure!
Prayer got us here. Love and service will continue the paths of grace.
Opportunity is just that. We can write on it whatever we are willing to sacrifice for it.
Thank you Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. You flung all the doors open. Time for all the people to breathe. The light is streaming in.
With it new glimmers of hope and hard work are filling up the imagination.
