Have you ever heard this said about someone...."You don't want to get them mad."
There are people who continuously present themselves to us in a confrontational way, a way of control. Their posture toward the world is to badger, control, intimidate. Bringing it into submission. 1) they control to protect. 2) they intimidate to dominate. This is not the way of Jesus or of his disciples.
You've seen something you have not see before.
You are reading this possibly because you encountered something, someone, that turned your world upside down. You've seen something you did not see before. Spiritual deception, and it is disturbing. It is also hard to understand. The motivations appear outside your comprehension. That's good. Evil is not to be understood. It is to be defeated and overcome.
What you saw became clearly visible and then they faded into a mist when confronted. Visible when your spiritual community went spinning into chaos. Disappearing when those identified as responsible are directly confronted. But you know you saw something spiritually deceptive and felt the fear and threats in communications and verbally. You second guess yourself and the reality of what you are going through. But the reality does not simply go away. It presses upon you and others around you. It seems to be in every corner of the community of faith, the church. The deception continues, attacking and undermining leaders, anyone who confronts or opposes. Emotions are everywhere and yet they seem to have no real basis in the level of conflict. Relationships appear to be on the line. These are some of the characteristics, feelings and targets of a Jezebel attack.
Learning to recognize the characteristics of the Jezebel spirit can stop short the pain and suffering that accompanies these attacks and welcome the redemptive power of Jesus.
A great battle is
underway. The times and seasons are set. The Fivefold ministry is
arising and the foundation of apostles and prophets is being restored to
the church. Jezebel is primarily a governmental attack.In contrast to broken and distorted houses of worship and religion, across the world today, the light of the glory of the Gospel of Christ is shining into the darkness. With ever increasing power and glory (Isa 9:7) the Spirit is advancing the government of the Kingdom in Fivefold men and women. This amazing army is equipped with revelation of the love of Jesus and his righteousness in profound ways.
As the government of Christ arises in the prayer movement and the Fivefold ministry, the Gospel of the Kingdom is gaining power and advancing purity and wisdom. In such an advance, the Gospel of light dislodges demonic captivity and impurity in every sphere. The Jezebel will be discovered. It may surprise many how prevalent and entrenched this captivity is among the ekklesia.
To see the Jezebel requires spiritual discernment and revelation of the righteousness of Jesus Christ.
Some of the common inroad scenarios follow.
Characteristics like those below act as doorways for the Jezebel to enter.
Flattery

1) Leaders struggling with low confidence or those who are weary and worn are subject to this temptation. The python spirit attacked Paul under these circumstances. Act 16
2) Those who find their support in the opinions of people verses the Lord - David strengthened himself in the Lord when under severe duress. Paul and his companions under the sentence of death learned to trust the Lord for deliverance. Paul identifies divine things as Galatians 1:1 "sent not from men nor by man". The origination and support of divine authority finds its support in God. Any other sources of dependence can lead to the spiritual attack of python and or Jezebel.
3) Affirmation of spiritual authorities - Acts 16:16-19 by demonic spirits to gain access to the leaders authority. Jesus did not allow demonic spirit's to say who he was even though they spoke truthfully. He did not want the affirmation of demonic spirits as they attempted to gain access to his authority by identification. This type of approach is subtle and cunning and often overlooked by leaders. When we are subject to flattery this approach easily brings us into demonic attack through the Jezebel. It is in fleshly weakness that this type of attach can manifest.
4) Declare allegiance to me and "I'll be yours forever" - More flattery
I've seen this over and over. The Jezebel will declare their allegiance and their undying love for the leader early and without any real relationship or service in love. Statements like "We will be here forever" and "This is it. We have found our home." Now, that can be a really wonderful discovery for people. And it can also be flattery from a Jezebel. Start ups, new church plants, new leaders are looking for people who plan to stick. Again, our door is open for good reason, but be alert. Flattery is not a godly trait or a means of acquiring anything in the kingdom. 1Th 2:5
"You know we never used flattery, nor did we put on a mask to cover up greed—God is our witness."
Volunteering for anything
In church plants, small churches or ministries struggling with developing service as unto the Lord, a Jezebel can step right up and "volunteer" for anything. This is easy to do when no one will step up and do the work required to support the ministry. It is also and easy entrance in an environment that is not spiritual gift focused and spiritual ministry focused.Sometimes this creates an open door for a Jezebel to access relationships quickly and without their own authority. Watch out for people who only want relationship with the leader or leaders and do not relate to or build relationship with the body. Typically the leaders authority is used for admin or volunteer project action. It only takes a few projects to gain access to the leaders authority and relationships.
Funny thing is in very spiritual environments the Jezebel can gain access through things like, dream interpretation and prophetic word interpretation.
Acting Clairvoyant
Only in prophetic environments or highly charged spiritual environments can a Jezebel gain access through this means. I have found that prophetic churches or those ministries seeking to walk in the prophetic as part of their foundation will find the Jezebel spirit seeking to gain access on many fronts. The reason is this kind of church, when it matures can decimate her footholds in hundreds of churches and ministries. Discernment and true prophetic gifting are amazing. The Jezebel borrows everything. Remember he does not have any true Kingdom spirit power. Look for those drawing people aside and away to give them "special revelation" "interpretations and words" and building a dependence on themselves verses teaching the believer to depend on the Spirit and draw near to Jesus. It is this dependence that will be called on later when things blow up.These are a few of the ways a Jezebel gains access to relationships, gains leader approval or loyalty, and subtly moves closer to the authority of the leader.
The most difficult thing is we typically give place to Jezebel because we have weaknesses in ourselves of a similar kind. We entertain fears. We act in a codependent way toward those the Father calls us to lead. We use worldly powers and weapons to influence the flock and stay in control as a leader. Essentially, we use some of the same tactics as the Jezebel spirit. When we seek to lead God's people with worldly weapons and control we find ourselves opening the door to the Jezebel.
The easiest way to know if there are elements of the Jezebel spirit in us is to identify fear. Fear arises when we feel threatened. We feel threatened when something that we have power in or through is under attack. We feel fear when something we hold is under threat of loss. When we encounter a Jezebel attack fear is the first notification. Then the real work begins. We need to explore the mindset that supports the fear. Why are we afraid. What are we afraid of? Typically we are afraid of loosing something when the fear grips us.
When an attack occurs that appears to be a Jezebel spirit it is extremely important that we face our fears head on, dismantle them with the Spirit's power and confront the source with love and a real sense of redemption.
When we respond to the fear in a Jezebel attack, we are most likely using worldly weapons. Do not confront the Jezebel and or use the same weapons to control the outcome. We loose in these approaches.
Why? The Kingdom is built by receiving and welcoming. Not by power and control in worldly wisdom.
The Holy Spirit is so good at bringing us to points of freedom and breakthrough. Don't run when the fear arises in an attack of Jezebel. Triumph in grace, love and patient endurance. Confront quickly and with love. Never confront alone. And let the Spirit unseat in you the ways of the world, cleansing and purifying your ministry with righteousness and joy.

Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. And the Zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this. Isaiah 9:7
With a scream an entire era of Israel's debasement and impurity fell from a window and came to and end. From her window in Jezreel, Jezebel ruled Israel as Queen. And from that window met her demise at the hands of her own Eunuchs. They threw her down to King Jehu. Jehu, a rightful and true King, prophetically appointed, was raised up by the Lord and set to the task of purifying the House of Israel from Ahab's corruption and impurity. Jehu, anointed by the prophet, arrived at her city Jezreel to put and end to Ahab's corruption and fulfill the word of the Lord over his house. Swift and terrible justice for a long and demoralizing fall.
Jezreel means "God Scatters". And he did. He scattered the household that welcomed Jezebel's cunning impurity. Ahab aligned in marriage with a philistine princess (I Cor fellowship light with darkness) and did not exercise the vision of Yahweh in the important anointing of kingship. Instead he opened the door for the ruinous Jezebel to destroy the heart and soul of Israel's devotion, her worship and her prophets.
Israel was not always like this. She was the only light of his presence in the world. She received the word of God, the covenant, the blessings and the promises. There was no other habitation of God on the earth anywhere else. The Almighty God resided in the Temple, he habitat-ed with Israel, he revealed himself in Word and Deed. He entered into covenant relationship. A relationship more like a husband than a distant God. (Scripture Hosea 2;16 ) His Word, His love and his favor were poured into a people through covenant, revelation of his presence in worship and dynamic community.
The same people who forgot his Word. The same people who welcomed idols and false and immoral worship. A people who sacrificed their children to a god who consumed them as an offering in a fire, alive. The discernment of Israel declined stage after stage as the Word of the Law was lost to the hearts of the people. The priesthood declined and corrupted men sowed rape and injustice instead of worship and truth. (hoping and phones) The Shekinah glory that filled the Temple after Solomon's prayer had long faded as Asheroh and Baal and a host of other gods filled the Temple alongside Yaweh. (Scripture )
This Israel who carried the wealth of revelation and relationship with God, found themselves ravaged by a false government. A government of idol worship, impurity and prostitution all displayed and taught to Israel as worship. Ahab's government was one of murder and terror. A government of sexual idolatry, prostitution and worship as sacrifice of children. Sacrifice of Children to the fires of Molech alive. The lines and lineage snuffed out in the flames of demonic fodder. A corrupt worship, it claimed Israel's future in fire and ash. More so, it terrorized the hearts of the people and wounded the love of Yaweh. Wounded by the confusion and distortion of worship couched in Israel's leadership and governance of Word, Worship, and Covenant love. This government systematically killed off the prophets of the Lord replacing them with the distorted and uninspired prophets of Baal. This government placed intercourse and prostitution as the center piece of worship. The light of Israel all but faded.
The rule of Jezebel is total bondage and destructive demonic spirituality. Elijah and 7000 others never bowed to Jezebel, but the rest of Israel did.
Saints. You must know. It is among us now. James 3:17-18
The breaking of this deception, the Jezebel spirit, is key to the radical revival and renal of God's people. The restoration of first love requires repentance and recognition. Breaking the Jezebel spirit means the in-breaking of divine authority, power and true apostolic family.
Here is the promise for those who overcome this spiritual deception. Revelation 2:26-29
To the one who is victorious and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations— 27 that one ‘will rule them with an iron scepter and will dash them to pieces like pottery’[b]—just as I have received authority from my Father. 28 I will also give that one the morning star. 29 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
