Saints - The Darkness Fears Us!

Resist the Devil and he will flee!  James 4:7

The truth is darkness, fallen angels, and those in the captivity of the enemy fear us.
Yea.  Us.  The church.  We have no physical weapons that could harm them.
But we have every spiritual blessing in Christ that decimates everything they do.
Eph 1:3
When you and I put our faith into
action and love with grace seasoning
all of it.....the Devil runs.

And He said to them, "I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning. "Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you.

"Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven."  Luke 10:19

 Ok. What do I mean?

Here is the Devil's present standing.

1) Stripped clean of his most debilitating weapons by our Lord Jesus.
When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him.  Col 2:15

2) Scared of us when we turn and confront him.  He Runs.
Jas 4:7
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

3) Facing eminent destruction forever - Mat 25:41
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

4) He has nothing if he can't get it done through humanity.

Jhn 13:2
The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus.
“You are a child of the devil and an enemy of everything that is right! You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery. Will you never stop perverting the right ways of the Lord? Act 13:10

5)  He requires a foothold to start messing with us.
Eph 4:27
"and do not give the devil a foothold."
Guarding your heart is key.
 Pro 4:23
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
 Jhn 14:1
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.

6) He has been cast out of heaven and knows his time is short.

Rev 12:9
The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.
Rev 12:12
Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.”

7) He has to guess at what God is doing.  He is shut out of the counsels of heaven.   We are not.  John 16:12-14
He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Luke 10:18
Jesus said he saw Satan fall.  Out of the councils and presence of God.
He can only guess at what prophecies and Scripture speak to.  Without the Holy Spirit he is dumbfounded.
He was stupid enough to kill Jesus on the Cross - producing eternal salvation and redemption in his blood for all humanity.
He is a criminal who cannot help falling into the opportunity to rob, steal, kill and destroy.  He speaks one language, Liar.

8) He creates nothing and rules the air.
The Devil has to use what is already created and called good.
He distorts good.  That is all he is capable of doing.   He uses the created world and seeks to dominate humans ultimately by creating cultures that divorce people from the Gospel of the Kingdom.
Eph 2:2
in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.

Satan always wants to....

Divide Us.

Luk 11:17
Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: “Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall.
Jesus powerfully defeated division in the Cross.  He perfectly fulfilled the will of the Father and received the Name above every NAME.

Next time you feel attacked or confronted by the enemy RESIST HIM.
And he WILL FLEE.

Matthew 28:18 ... Jesus came and spoke to them saying , "All power is given unto Me in Heaven and in Earth."
Col 1:29
To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.

The pathway to victory over the Enemy is....

Believe the promises of God

2 Pet 1:4 - He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Jesus has perfect Understanding of You and Me.
That is good news.

Hearing The Voice of God. 5 Places to Focus Your Listening

The Voice of God
Everyone wants to heart it.

Honestly there is no other voice that can shake us so completely with love, grace, mercy and loving kindness.

John heard it as "the roar of many waters"  Rev 1:15

The Psalmist hears it "twists the oaks and strips the forests bare. And in his temple all cry, “Glory!”  Psa 29:9

The LORD thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded. Psa 18:13

Are you starving for his voice?
Hungry to hear
the Father's heart?

 Ps. 19

One who is full loathes honey from the comb, but to the hungry even what is bitter tastes sweet.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be filled.

Hungering to be near to the Lord, to lean in on him and connect deeply with him is all part of love.  It is natural spiritual truth.  To know Christ and his love is
the heart and soul of walking in the Spirit.
Ephesians 3:17-21

Here are 5 places to listen if you are hungry for his voice!

1. The Word, the Logos, the Way, The Truth, The Life, The Bread from Heaven, the DOOR, THE LORD JESUS!
There is a person called the Word.  Spend time in the quiet closet of prayer with Jesus and listen.  Abiding. Listening.  Talking.  Sharing your deepest heart desires.  Worship, wait, rest,  know him, receive revelation to your heart (Eph 3:17-19)  He already knows every word that falls from your lips.  Ps 139   Always leave room for him to speak to you. John 10:1-18;  16:12-14

2. The Scripture.
There is an amazing word spoken to us from the Holy Spirit that will remain forever.  Get as much of that forever voice in you as is possible.  All day find the word in your life.  Read it.  Listen to it.  Meditate on it.  Study it. Memorize it.   Apply it's promises in faith.  Walk in it's never ending reminders of the goodness of God.  It is always his voice.   II Tim 3:16

3. Listen to the Creation
Psalms 19 says creation is constantly speaking about the Lord's nature and character.   Listen.  Go out and watch the stats for an hour.  Walk in the amazing wonders of this powerfully beautiful world.  Get by a water fall or glide across a lake.  It all speaks of his beauty and power.   And while you are there he may speak to you directly.

4. Listen to his friends.
When you find people who love him in a way that inspires you to go farther and deeper into the vast love of God, listen to them.   They tend to be walking daily in the way of the Spirit.  They tend to be following righteousness.  When you see Jesus in the lives of people around you get closer to those people.  Fellowship with them in Jesus through the Spirit.  Share the word between you and see amazing advance in heart, soul, mind, strength love for the Lord.  Help each other through the tough spots. Pray together and encourage each other when things are tough and you want to turn back.  Remember the past and the grip sin had on you.  Celebrate Jesus together and testify of all the great things he has done for you.  He speaks through his children.  I Corinthians 14:1

5. Listen to his leaders.
There is so much noise today that undermines the trust in those who dedicate themselves by calling to encourage us in the walk after Jesus.  The Lord calls people into serving him for the sake of his bride.  He asks them to set aside their lives for you and I to prosper in our knowledge and love of Jesus.  I know and have known so many amazing followers of Jesus who give up their lives daily for us to prosper in faith, hope and love.  They are all over the planet serving him in love and laying down their lives.  When you find those that resonate with the love of God and real devotion to Jesus, make a point of linking arms, joining together in walking and learning.  If we welcome those Jesus has sent we receive the reward they carry.  Matt 10:41   Yes. There are some bad apples out there.  But we have the Spirit to guide us and alert us to them.  John 16:12-14.  Don't let the few wolves keep you away from the fullness of prospering in the Lord.  Ephesians 4:11-13

Heaven's Story is waiting.
Heaven's God wants to talk with you.
He chose you to be adopted!

What Runs Behind YOU? Depends on What Runs in Front of YOU?

Are you being chased? Or are you chasing something?

Scripture says Goodness and Mercy will follow me all the days of my life. Ps 23:6
What needs to run in front of us for goodness and mercy to follow?

LOVE and GRACE

Love and Grace meet us every morning
 Love
"Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."
I jn4:8

If love runs in front of you.
You find yourself seeing with Jesus' eyes. You get creative ideas. You limit yourself in saying, doing or expressing something that is not filled with love.

When love runs in front of us we start seeing more of what the Father has planned --- good works prepared in advance. Eph 2:10

GRACE
Unmerited favor with the power to transform us into the substance of the love of God in Jesus Christ.

Salvation in and through us by Jesus Christ in and through all things.

GRACE is the spark that lights the fires of the Holy Spirit in people, tribes, nations.

The BIG OPEN Skies

of LOVE

and GRACE

are

FREEDOM

JOY

PEACE

in JESUS

For GRACE and LOVE to walk in front we cannot invite these guys along.

1. Judgement - It is not a skill it's a curse.

2. A critical spirit is sours everything in front of us.

3. Condemnation is agreeing with the Devil's view of the world, people and God's work.

4. Guilt -  Why feel guilty?  Repent and be forgiven.  I John 2:1

5. Shame - Jesus took all our shame on the cross.  Let go and live.

What is said to run in front.....???

LOVE is the greatest power in the universe  - LOVE rooted in Christ Jesus.
Love establishes us in his grace and glory. Eph 3:17-23

LOVE covers a multitude of sins.
Grace is always enough.
Grace overcomes the depths of the world's failures

The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous runs into it and is safe. Prov 18:10

What runs behind you when love runs in front?

Goodness and Mercy

MERCY "Mercy triumphs over judgement."
If you want to have goodness follow you then be like God and let mercy be in front of you. That means you know what someone is but you bestow on them their heavenly identity not their earthly failures.  The world places judgement in front, calls it a skill and glories in the ability to tear people down. Mercy offers hope when we are down.  Mercy actually sees the justice due and extends a second change and grace for change.  Mercy is supreme over Judgement.

GOODNESS  Eph 5:1
God is Good.  We say, "all the time".  And that is true.
Everything God does is for our good.  He is forming Jesus in us.
That means eternal life is forming in us through faith in Jesus.
Goodness abides with God.
Goodness is tastety and lovely.
God is Good.
When love and grace run out in front....
God's goodness is sure to follow in abundance.

Goodness and Mercy follow LOVE and GRACE on the holy highway - Isaiah 35

We can run on these roads all the days of our lives....

Never exhausting
the LOVE
or
the GRACE
of God.

Start traveling!

Heaven's Story is waiting.

6 Things to Remember When Trouble Finds You. No U-Turns Required.

Jesus has this thing.  You and ME!  He knows how to bring us home!

NO U-Turns Required in the Kingdom

Here are some quick reminders when trouble comes:

1. Opposition is Opportunity
God is good.  Nothing separates us from his love.  Everything works for good to those in his purpose.  Life is a path of overcoming in the promise of Jesus Christ.   Jesus is redeeming the world through his promise living in us.   Look for the upgrade, overcoming, opportunity in everything that confronts you.  Ps 144:1

"Praise be to the Lord my Rock,
who trains my hands for war,
my fingers for battle."
"Part the heavens, Lord, and come down:" Ps 144:5
In Jesus we overcome.

2. Perfect life situations -- are not the goal.
Jesus was clear.  "In this world you will have trouble."  So why do we spend so much energy trying to eliminate it?  God's grace pours into us when we need it.  It is always sufficient for the trouble at hand.  Keep in mind.  We have trouble.  But Jesus overcame the World and all it's trouble.  There is a new way out in front of us.  Are we seeing?  Do we have sight?   Eliminating troubles is not the central goal of God's Kingdom.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33

3. Wisdom is given by request. James 1:5
Wisdom is given without judgement as we face trials of all kinds.
We have to ask for it.  That's when it comes to us.  Ask and you shall receive. Wisdom is more than a step by step plan.  Wisdom is a way of life.  It shapes our decisions and our understanding of the life we are living.  It provides for overcoming a hundred troubles.  It sticks with you.  Ask and it will be given to you.  Matt 7:7

4. We have the Mind of Christ.  Col 1:27/ I Cor 2:16
The Mind of Christ informs our plans.  The Mind of Christ fills us with the knowledge of his love.  The Mind of Christ connects us to the Father's heart.  Ask for what Jesus is doing in and through you.  Ask him to understand his perspective and vision for the season you are in.

5. Christ lives in us by the Spirit.  John 16:12-14
The Spirit's work is to lead us.  He teaches us.  He reminds us.  He comforts us.  He encourages us.  He strengthens us.  Active relationship requires listening.  He is ready to speak to us; to tell us the future.  He will guide us into all truth.

6. Trust is the bedrock.  Proverbs 3:5-6
We come to deeper relationship when we trust God.  When we face uncertainty trusting God is a highway to peace, understanding and rest.   Jesus is trust able.  He is everything we need for life and godliness.

Testimonies. The Love and Compassion of Jesus Touching People

Love and Compassion always point us in the right direction for the Kingdom of God.   We get to touch the life of the one in front of us.
The Father already has plans in his heart for them.  We get to watch his love be poured out!   What JOY!
Dead men rise in Christ

Here are some testimonies from the past few weeks of living in His joy and love.

I've been overseas.  I've ministered again at home.
One thing is standing out very clear.

The Kingdom of God is same everywhere.
It has no boarders.
It is not locked to a country, a culture.
It is filled with the Love of God and the power of God.
The things that happen in and through it reflect the heart of the Father,
the Saving Power of Jesus and the wealth of joy and peace in the Holy Spirit.
We welcome and receive it.   Simple.

Here are three stories of his love. Wait no Four Stories.
Simple engagements and encounters with God from the past few weeks.
In truth there are more.  From praying for a job and peace to healing and people encountering God in his wonders.

Saturday - Redmond OR - 03/15/15  USA!
As part of a group of 12 being equipped for evangelism and sharing the love of God, I went out with a dear friend to knock on doors, let people know the church was here for them, and to bring the Kingdom in healing, deliverance, salvation and love through Jesus.
We prayed for many people.  Peace for believers who had encountered deaths in the family, older people who were now alone as spouses had gone on to be with the Lord.   We were not welcomed to pray for alot of healing except for one home.  A woman in her 40's welcomed us.  We listened to her story of how she landed in Redmond from New York.  How her family was here but not doing great.  How she knew the Lord but was alone and not connected to a church family.  We were talking at the door of her home.  When we asked if we could pray for her she invited us to come in.  We stepped into the home and began to ask her about what was really happening in her life.  She told us her son was sick. And that she had pain from arthritis and a few other things.   We asked is we could pray for her and for healing.  She said yes.  I asked if I could hold her hand while we prayed as her fingers were in pain from arthritis.  We started asking the Lord to touch her; to fill her with a witness of the Father's love for her.  Touch her body and free her from the pain.  She started crying.  She became overwhelmed by the Father's love.  We continued praying as this is not unusual to see when God touches people.  I continued praying for her healing.  The love of God was coming in waves to her and she continued to cry.  I asked her if she was ok?  She nodded, put her hand to her mouth and more tears.  I asked her if the pain was gone in her hands.  She focused on her hands and then burst out, more tears, nodding her head that it was not there anymore.   We rejoiced at the love of God.    We invited her to fellowship.  We will be going back to check on her.
We carry the Kingdom of God - Jesus sent the 72 out to say, "The Kingdom is present among you"

Sunday  - Uganda 02/28/2015

This little one in the picture received a new yellow dress as part of the clothing give away in Uganda.  A woman in Redmond sows hundreds of garments for children and missions to give.  Just give her fabric and she sows and sows in her retirement.  That is a wonderful retirement for Jesus.  I wish more American's would see their latter years as freedom to serve Christ and not spend more time on themselves golfing, fishing, or whatever.  Heaven lasts forever and most of us have a pretty good life.  Think into eternity and use your time wisely.

This little girl broke my heart.  She was sick.  She recently had surgery.  Crying throughout most of the day.  Her mom was doing her best.  She was definitely discouraged by the sickness and the lack of her baby eating.    I kept praying for the little one every time I had a chance.   Anthony Kinalwa, our Ugandan pastor friend, sent me this follow up regarding this baby.

"One of the them, amazing. the baby you praised for, this baby was operated her mouth, she had pain, and also her healthy was not
good at all, she could not eat well.
But now the mother came this week
for our bible study smiling and praying God
The health of the baby 's well now"
Anthony Kinalwa, Kampala Uganda

All this is part of the Kingdom of God. We have it freely and we give it away freely.  It is so simple to welcome what Jesus wants to do in someones life and simply let love and compassion flow.   Luke 10 - Sending of the 72.  Read that and see what Jesus sent them to do and bring.  What resources they had to do it with.   Anyone who is given over to Jesus carries this Kingdom!

Love and Compassion always point us in the right direction for the Kingdom of God to touch the life of the one in front of us.   The Father already has plans in his heart for them.  We get to watch his love be poured out!  OH What JOY!

Saturday - Redmond OR 03/15/15  USA!
Here is a video testimony from a member of the team sharing the gospel on the streets of Redmond this past weekend.    How this person was touched and encouraged.   Enjoy.

It is amazing how the Love of God is expressed in so many ways.  The Kingdom of God is as active and alive in Redmond, OR USA as it is in Kampala, Uganda.  Because God's Spirit is everywhere on the globe loving and freeing people into the glory of Jesus Christ.

Friday - Redmond OR 03/14/15  USA!
The church purchased something from Wal Mart and we went into pick it up. It was an internet purchase that was sent to the store.  We connected with the sales person and were waiting while the item was being brought up front for us.  I asked the sales person if they knew the Lord Jesus. They said they did.  We rejoiced and started talking.  We asked how things were going for them.  They told us not so great.  We said, "why?"   The sales person told us they came to work and ran out of gas in the parking lot.  They were on shift all day with a dead phone and they were not looking forward to the end of work when they would have to try and sort out getting gas and getting home.  They also told us they had no money for gas anyway.   So, it was fairly obvious what was needed.   We told him we would return with a gas can full of gas shortly so he could get home after work.   We did return with a gas can and some funds for him to fill the tank.  He went out to the car with us and we hung out till he filled the tank.  We gave him the new gas can and some funds to fill up his tank.   Fun how Jesus can bless his people.      I just marvel at the opportunities to show his love.

Christ Healing the Blind Man", Oil by El Greco
These testimonies are not unusual.  They are usual.  The Saints that went out this past weekend and the ones who went to Uganda are not unusual.  They are usual people.  It is the Kingdom of God -  The Son of God, Jesus Christ, the WAY, the Truth, The LIFE that takes us usual people and pours his love and power on the world through us.
We are so in love we want to see others touched by Jesus.  That's all.
American Christians may have their eyes on the wrong things.  We tend to attain what we desire.
Praise of men?  Praise of God?
Known of Men?  Known of God?
Who we know?  Knowing God?

What do you need the Lord to do for YOU!

Jesus asked the blind man this question.  Luke18:35-43

"What would you like me to do for you?

"Lord, I want to see," he replied.

Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight; your faith has healed you."

Go and see what you have!
Go and ask what you want Jesus to do for you.

I have good news.  ALL this is yours in Christ Jesus!   And his open invitation.....
