Confidence in God. What He Sees in Me Will Be My Confidence

Confidence in God. 
It is a key ingredient for walking in righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
It is an essential ingredient for following Jesus.  

So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. Heb 10:35


Hezekiah Seeks the Lord


1) We place confidence in God not ourselves.  Eph 3:12
In him and through faith in him (Jesus) we may approach God with freedom and confidence.

Phl 3:3
For it is we who are the circumcision, 
we who serve God by his Spirit, 
who boast in Christ Jesus, 
and who put no confidence in the flesh
 Psa 27:1
 The LORD is my light and my salvation— 
whom shall I fear? 
The LORD is the stronghold of my life—
 of whom shall I be afraid?
 
 Psa 27:3
Though an army besiege me, 
my heart will not fear; 
though war break out against me, 
even then I will be confident.



2) We put all confidence in the NAME of Jesus. 
Heb 4:16
Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus.  1Jo 4:17


Courageous in the eyes of heaven. 

Sometimes this makes us look foolish
...in the eyes of the world.   
Sometimes this makes us feel vulnerable.  
On the look out for a place to put our trust. 

He is our trust.  He is our Rock.  
He is our fortress in times of trouble. 


I'd rather look foolish to the world and receive and eternal Kingdom than give into loving  the world more than God.   


We love and Serve The King of Kings.

2Ki 18:19
The field commander said to them, “Tell Hezekiah: “ ‘This is what the great king, the king of Assyria, says: On what are you basing this confidence of yours?
Surrounded by an overwhelming force that is seeking to destroy?  
Hezekiah and Israel faced an affront.  The people heard over the walls these words from the King of Assyria.  

Then the commander stood and called out in Hebrew, “Hear the word of the great king, the king of Assyria!

This is what the king says: Do not let Hezekiah deceive you. He cannot deliver you from my hand.


Do not let Hezekiah persuade you to trust in the LORD when he says, ‘The LORD will surely deliver us; this city will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.’

There was a King in Israel.  There is a King of Kings and Lord of Lords seated in Heaven.  A High Priest who knows what is like to live this life.  He knows our weakness.  He always provides a way.     1Co 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.









2Ki 19:1
When King Hezekiah heard this, he tore his clothes and put on sackcloth and went into the temple of the LORD.
 As the pressures increase and the uncertainty grows.....
Lean harder into the grace of God and TRUST.  
Let your confidence be in God.  
Throwing ourselves on the Lord is sure solution for the most challenging troubles and tests. Press in deeper.  Go after his presence.  Run into the secret place with the Father.  He knows our needs.  Don't be turned away by anything. 
Our Father loves to respond to our heart cries for help.
There is no name as sure as our Fathers. 
The victory of the Lord Jesus is ours by faith and trust in all his goodness. 
So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. Heb 10:35

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
 The
Assyrians -
 2Ki 19:35 
That night the angel of the LORD went out and put to death a hundred and eighty-five thousand in the Assyrian camp. When the people got up the next morning—there were all the dead bodies!

The army is decimated by an Angel of the Lord.    Hezekiah's confidence in God, trust and prayer made a way for deliverance.   Your prayers move mountains.  Your trust brings home by faith all the Father has spoken.  

Don't give in to FEAR. 
Don't wait in defeat.  
Press into the Lord Jesus for what you need.



Today we put our confidence in Jesus.  
 Heb 13:6
So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”

Mat 7:7
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
Remember your own stories! 
David always remembered the stories of God's deliverance for his life.  He remembered all that God had done for him.  We face some tough days.  We get discouraged after many days of struggle.  So did David.  Yet, he always remembered what God had done for him.  
What He did he will do....and more.  
Everything God has ever done for you tells you what he can do and more.  Remember your testimonies.  Ask the Spirit to remind you of what the Lord has done.  Stir them up and recite them to the glory of God's goodness.  In remembering and sharing them with others you inspire others to deeper confidence in God.  You also inspire yourself to trust afresh in the face of anything.  
Hang in there.  
Often we start making predictions based on past failures when trouble lands.    We start predicting a negative future out of some of our bad memories.  
The awesome thing is God is not tied up by our predictions. 
He is creative.  In love with us.  And he is good all the way.  
Everything in his heart is to see us live forever with him.  
He has provided everything needed in the Lord Jesus and his perfect work. 
I have always been a bad predictor of the future....even when I think it turns out bad. 
God always sweeps in and something unseen re-writes the story.  
That is the heart of God over us.   
He re-writes it so we see him, grow deeper in love and learn to walk with him.
In turn he changes us inside forever!  
This is all worth it.  
Even the days when you are hanging on by the tips of your fingers and you see a 1000 feet of air beneth you.   He will catch you.
Or He will sweep in and bring something unexpected.  
Believe.  Believe.  Believer. 
Trust in the NAME of Jesus.

Set Free to LOVE! 5 Foundations that Set LOVE Free in US!

The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying:
“I have loved you with an everlasting love
I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.


We flower and grow in the desert!  Proving His LOVE
Love - For God so loves...

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, 
that whoever believes in him shall not perish 
but have eternal life


 “A new command I give you: Love one another. 
As I have loved you, 
so you must love one another.


God Trusts LOVE.  He trusts his own character.
Jesus' mission was rooted and established in LOVE.  So is ours. Ephesians 3:16-21



While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!” Mat 17:5

 The first fruit of the Spirit is LOVE. 
Every garden the Father grows and prunes produces love as the fruit.  The first sign of the presence of the Holy Spirit and of believers walking in his light is LOVE.  The best sign to those outside a saving relationship with Jesus is Love between the Saints. John 17 




But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, Gal 5:22

5 Foundations that Set Love Free in US





1) Foundation 1 - Follow ME -  Jesus will lead us into loving the world.  
As we follow Jesus, litterally, throughout the day and in everything we chose to do and be, we can trust God that LOVE will win.  Just like Jesus trusted the Father that the Cross would cleanse the world in his blood.  We are called into a life that moves and breaths life in love.  

 We wage a war against hate, anger, jealousy, envy, greed.....But LOVE Remains and Ultimately wins every battle.  Our idea of what love is.... I Cor 13; I John 3:16



This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
1Jo 3:16


2) Foundation 2 - Friends not slaves - to love.   
Love is worth the sacrifice.  It produces fruit by faith that will overcome the world.  Jesus invited us into a deep relationship that is permeated by love.  God's love.  A love that is part of a mystery.  A love that mixes with justice, mercy, grace, forgiveness, kindness and holiness all at once and finds perfect satisfaction in the DEATH, RESURRECTION, ASCENSION of Jesus Christ.  He sat down into love in heaven and made all things NEW. 



I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. Jhn 15:15


3) Foundation 3 - We are Free to trust LOVE!  Jesus Conquered the World with LOVE
In this world it is clear that love gets trampled.  Love does not carry a gun.  Love does not destroy but brings life.  Love lays down its life for friends.  Jesus invites us into a life of trusting LOVE.  The world, the flesh and the Devil rail against LOVE.  They cling to condemnation, power  and deceit in the natural world and order of things seen.  In the unseen LOVE is everything.  It is agreement with the work of Jesus.  It is agreement with the Father's heart.  It is demonstrated agreement and walking in the Spirit.  ICor14:1

 
4) Foundation 4 - We are made to follow the way of LOVE - I Corinthians 14:1
There is an open invitation to the very heart of the Father in Heaven.  A center place in his heart and right before his eyes.  We are invited into the depths of his presence and unending and ever expanding knowledge of God.  How deep do you want to go in loving Him.  We cannot exhaust the boundless Kingdom in a lifetime.  In millions of life times.  Eternity will never exhaust the depths of the Father's heart.  That will be part of the wonder of heaven.  
Desire and calling into the presence of the Lord is the ache of a heart that loves Jesus.  It is also the invitation of the perfect word he completed in love for us.  Set the foundation of prayer, worship and abiding in his presence at the core of your walk after the Spirit.  John 15


5) Foundation 5 - Free to Trust the Spirit grounding us in the Word

John 16:12-14  
Fear of falling away or of getting side tracked in teaching that stumbles us is not a worry an abiding Saint needs to carry.  The promise, the blessings and the guidance of the Holy Spirit are clearly given to us.  Jesus has given people to the Church who love him and are called to spend their lives for his Bride's growth in love.  The Kingdom is well ordered and perfectly able by design to enrich and establish believers in the fullness of Christ.  Aligning to his grace and blessings in fellowship is key.  We are free to run off into poor teaching, bad relationships, and poor fellowship, yet the promise from Jesus is the Spirit will lead us and guide us to know him.   Trust.  Discernment and love along with the Scripture and some big ears for the Spirit's guidance always bring us to the Father's heart in the work of the Lord Jesus. 




Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming.Eph 4:14

Is Love Really the Most Powerful Thing in the World?

There is one thing the world is intended to never run out of......LOVE.

And it is the one thing that will never run out in God's Kingdom.

God is Love.  
Love never sets or passes away


 "Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love"  I John 4:8

These three remain.   
Faith  Hope   Love  
Love is the greatest.  
Love remains forever.  

Hope is no longer needed in heaven.
Faith is no longer needed in heaven.  
Love remains.  
It is the fruit of the Kingdom of God

Love and Heaven
1) Heaven's nature and everything coming from heaven is going to have love in the fabric of its nature; touching every aspect of its direction, progress and final fruit. 

2) Because God loved us he sent Jesus who loved and redeemed us in his blood laying down his life in love for us.  

3)  Love is heaven's basic, grass roots, bottom line language.  

4) Love is the math of heaven.  

5) Love is the physics and science of heaven.  

6) Love is the fruit of everything with value to heaven. 
Yet it also has to fills the whole process from beginning to ending.  

Jesus said he was the Alpha and Omega the Beginning and the End. 
God is love.



Love starts at the beginning of everything heaven initiates and fills everything up to a fruitful completion. 




So why is LOVE the one thing I run short on without focus, grace and the Holy Spirit? 
 
 I've made some real blunders in my life.  Lack of love shows.  My own show were I demonstrate all the wrong things about life and completely do it without love. 
I've also been graced with an awesome family that loves me in spite of my dumb days. Or they give me grace and we work through the stupid. 

My wife is such a sweet heart.  She puts up with some of my lamest moments.  I Thank God for her and my boys.  Somehow we've learned to give each other room when "the dumbness" starts rolling.  
Always a reminder, my weakness and busted parts bring me back to the truth about Jesus.  
That he has this thing.  ME.  And that he is able to keep me until the Day.  





Whoever does not love does not know God, 
because God is love.  I Jn4:8


There is an endless supply of the most compelling, beautiful, joy filled love in the Kingdom of Jesus. Enough to go around the world.  All the way around in one day.  Enough to shake loose darkness.  Enough to meet the needs of broken hearts.  

We carry a Kingdom with a King's love saturating everything about it


Jesus is the center of it all. 


Jesus is the source of it all.



"God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, 2in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.…"  Hebrews 1:1


 Jesus is the one who has completed loves work.  

He's the One who said, "IT is FINISHED." 


Jesus is the wonder of the Father's heart in motion. 

Amazingly, he shares that heart with us! 




Jesus is the King of a boundless Kingdom 
A Kingdom of LOVE, GRACE and MERCY.  
A Kingdom in which everything required to walk in its fullness is built into it.  
Love is built into the calling of the Father
Love is built into the paths of obedience to his voice.
Love is built into all that we share in with Jesus.



The reality of the Love of God is Experienced! 

Ultimately it is not something we just talk about.  

It is something we Experience.  
Ephesians 3:17-19 

"so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God." 

 This love experienced and known is not from a book.  
It is not from delving into the lates Christian teaching. 
It is thorugh an encounter with the person Jesus Christ.  
When we encounter him we encounter his love.  

So take a minute.  Get some place quiet and wait on the Lord. 

Ask Jesus to fill your heart with a new understanding of his love. 
How wide and high it is for you. 
How deep and how far it stretches out into the universe for you. 
Ask and you shall receive.

Saints - The Darkness Fears Us!

Resist the Devil and he will flee!  James 4:7

The truth is darkness, fallen angels, and those in the captivity of the enemy fear us.  
Yea.  Us.  The church.  We have no physical weapons that could harm them.  
But we have every spiritual blessing in Christ that decimates everything they do. 
Eph 1:3   
When you and I put our faith into 
action and love with grace seasoning 
all of it.....the Devil runs. 



And He said to them, "I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning. "Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you.  

"Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven."  Luke 10:19



 Ok. What do I mean?  

 Here is the Devil's present standing.  


1) Stripped clean of his most debilitating weapons by our Lord Jesus. 
When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him.  Col 2:15


2) Scared of us when we turn and confront him.  He Runs. 
Jas 4:7
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.


3) Facing eminent destruction forever - Mat 25:41
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.


4) He has nothing if he can't get it done through humanity.   


 
Jhn 13:2
The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus.
“You are a child of the devil and an enemy of everything that is right! You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery. Will you never stop perverting the right ways of the Lord? Act 13:10




5)  He requires a foothold to start messing with us. 
Eph 4:27
"and do not give the devil a foothold."
Guarding your heart is key. 
 Pro 4:23
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
 Jhn 14:1
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.



6) He has been cast out of heaven and knows his time is short. 
 
Rev 12:9
The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.
Rev 12:12
Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.”



 


7) He has to guess at what God is doing.  He is shut out of the counsels of heaven.   We are not.  John 16:12-14
 He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Luke 10:18  
Jesus said he saw Satan fall.  Out of the councils and presence of God.   
He can only guess at what prophecies and Scripture speak to.  Without the Holy Spirit he is dumbfounded. 
He was stupid enough to kill Jesus on the Cross - producing eternal salvation and redemption in his blood for all humanity.  
He is a criminal who cannot help falling into the opportunity to rob, steal, kill and destroy.  He speaks one language, Liar. 




8) He creates nothing and rules the air.  
The Devil has to use what is already created and called good.  
He distorts good.  That is all he is capable of doing.   He uses the created world and seeks to dominate humans ultimately by creating cultures that divorce people from the Gospel of the Kingdom.  
Eph 2:2
in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.


 

 

 

Satan always wants to....


 

 

Divide Us.  

Luk 11:17
Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: “Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall.
Jesus powerfully defeated division in the Cross.  He perfectly fulfilled the will of the Father and received the Name above every NAME.  

Next time you feel attacked or confronted by the enemy RESIST HIM.  
And he WILL FLEE.  

Matthew 28:18 ... Jesus came and spoke to them saying , "All power is given unto Me in Heaven and in Earth."
Col 1:29
To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.


The pathway to victory over the Enemy is....

Believe the promises of God  

2 Pet 1:4 - He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Jesus has perfect Understanding of You and Me.
That is good news.
