Jesus: Ever Growing Fascination. He Changes Everything.

I know this to be true.

Children get the Kingdom insight.

Walking in Jesus is one step at a time.

Being led by the Spirit leads to walking.....
one step at a time.

Simple.
Sometimes that is the real and powerful. A simple step forward in the Spirit.

"There's no junior Holy Spirit."  unknown quote.

John the apostle says we don't need anyone to teach us.  I John 2:27

As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.

But we do need people to

disciple us

show us His WAYs

Encourage

Strengthen

Comfort.

Lately, I am seeing what God has always done....

But he is doing it among a group most have no time for
or
faith for
or
Hope for.

So much of our Gospel appears wrapped up in America middle class social norms, ideas and relations...

The Problem.

So little of Jesus is....

Wrapped up in anything but the power to save and eternal life.

So why are we feeling the pinch of a gospel that has little or no effect on the poor?

It seems "our Gospel" is more about social engineering than the power of Jesus Christ.

People without the education, the experience, the social ability etc....without the baseline of Christian culture need a King and a Gospel that has real power.  Delivering them from darkness and it's dominion and placing them in the light of Christ's love and overcoming grace.

Jesus Christ changes lives in every social strata.

The first thing he announced about this Kingdom, it was good news for the poor.

"Blessed are the poor for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven"  Matthew 5:3

So did Jesus mean it is blessed to be poor?
Ya right.
Such a ridiculous interpretation would most likely come from someone who has never been in want.
Those whose "lack" mearly sets back their wants.  No needs involved.
Those I know who have been homeless for a considerable time,  know there is nothing blessed about it.

Jesus was making something clear from the start.Making it clear that his Gospel of the Kingdom comes to all regardless of their financial, social, political, religious, educational, understanding, and standing.
Jesus is making it clear that God is coming to them, the poor, because he values them.
He has life for them.  Hope for them.  Freedom for them.
Actually it's for all humanity.

Everyone gets in on this Gospel Train the same way and freely.
He also has the power to change lives.
All lives.  All situations.
Redemption in Jesus is total and complete.

New Mind in Christ
New creature in Christ
New body in the resurrection
Eternal life

The secret is required.  The key.

A mystery unlocks the Gospel of the Kingdom.
Jesus himself is the secret.  The mystery revealed in the timing of God.
The poor are blessed because this Gospel comes to them in the Son of God, the person Jesus Christ.
Everyone gets all it's benefits and blessings in the same way.
By faith in the Son of God.
A gift of grace through faith, eternal life is forever.
We all overcome the world in the same way, even our faith in the Son of God.  I John 5:4-5

So this Gospel has no boundaries.  It is not to be charged for or held back from the poor for any reason.

So why are we feeling the pinch?  Is it the pinch of a gospel that has little or no effect on the poor?

Some say, "we'll I have not seen such things".  Things like people's lives being changed who are way down and out.
Meaning, the poor being changed.  Their lives finding hope and peace.
Yet, this is the core message of the Gospel.  Jesus redeems and saves all.

Well, OK.  Plenty have not seen a healing in their whole Christian life. Does that mean healing doesn't happen either.
Yet they are reported all the time throughout the world.
I've personally seen many many many.
Just this past Sunday a man's back was healed immediately from the pain and pressure with no one touching him.

Moving in God's power for the poor, the broken, takes a journey into the WAY of Jesus.

Hang in there.
Often we start making predictions based on past failures when trouble lands.    We start predicting a negative future out of some of our bad memories.
The awesome thing is God is not tied up by our predictions.
He is creative.  In love with us.  And he is good all the way.
Everything in his heart is to see us live forever with him.
He has provided everything needed in the Lord Jesus and his perfect work.
I have always been a bad predictor of the future....even when I think it turns out bad.
God always sweeps in and something unseen re-writes the story.
That is the heart of God over us.
He re-writes it so we see him, grow deeper in love and learn to walk with him.
In turn he changes us inside forever!

This is all worth it.
Even the days when you are hanging on by the tips of your fingers and you see a 1000 feet of air beneth you.   He will catch you.
Or He will sweep in and bring something unexpected.
Believe.  Believe.  Believer.
Trust in the NAME of Jesus.
