Proving the Gospel to the Impossible

Really believing in the face of the impossible...

This is what pleases God.  Heb 1:6

I remember......

Life at that moment didn't give us that "put together" kind of feeling.  Just the opposite. More like fraying and unraveling, our feelings were raw.   We saw no avenue to stop the bleeding.  We should have make a list of all the problems and challenges we were facing just to get it out in the open.  But we didn't want to.  To overwhelming.  It was one of those remarkable seasons when you marvel at the complexity of troubles affronting you.

Experienced that before?

Then....

Standing around the kitchen island, randomly picking and opening mail, our perspective got a supersonic wake up call.

My wife opened a letter. Then reacted.  Sounding out a noise that could go either way.  Good?  Bad?

I asked her, "What. What is it?"

She pulled a check out of the envelope.

I walked over and looked at it.  We both stood quiet.  Nothing can compare to those moments when all the air of the earth gets sucked out of the room.   Then all the powerful, beautiful air of Jesus and his loving kindness starts pouring in.

It was a check for $5000.00 dollars.
The note on the check said, CAR.

Yes. CAR.

About three weeks earlier my son was in an accident with our paid off, running great, no troubles mini-van.  Bam.  The CAR was totaled.  He was fine.  Praise God.

So, for the past few weeks we had been praying and trusting. Flying blind but believing God; believing he had something awesome for us.  Yes, we were trying to figure out how to get into another CAR.  All the while down to one CAR.  Transporting our high school family, church family and work family all around the town.

Of course, we didn't have resources.  Those we did have were tied up.  And we didn't think we'd get anything for the totaled CAR.

Yes.  A perfect scenario.

You've been there, I'm sure. Looking and feeling the pressure of proving to the IMPOSSIBLE the boundless grace and favor of Jesus.

It can feel like..... Standing strong in the wind with like little or no clothing.
Covered only in faith and HOPE.
Clothed in truth.
Constantly praying.

With God nothing is impossible.
So we believe.  Trust.  HOPE and walk in faith.

And remarkably, God answers in real time.
He is the God of the living!
He is alive!

Nothing can compare to those moments when all the air of the earth gets sucked out of the room.  Then all the powerful, beautiful air of Jesus and his loving kindness starts pouring in.

This was a turning point.

IN our mindset and resolve, a strong tower was formed.
We launched out in encouragement.  Again, we knew God knew us!
Some compassionate believers poured that grace upon us in the Lord's name.
Remarkable
Their worship and obedience to the Spirit deeply marked us.
We did not have words to pull together our gratitude.

We stood there at the counter.  Quiet.  Glancing at each other.
My wife and I, assuring each that the Lord marked us both right then.

We were encouraged to press on.
Go bigger.
Believe for more.
Press into the abiding grace of the Lord
and trust Him.

You need to know.
It's not money that made the difference.
The money was a tool of grace and encouragement in the hands of a steadfast loving God.
It was God.
Orchestrating the operations of his grace through faith.
It was those believers who blessed us in a time of trouble because God spoke to them.
It was God's loving kindness that we heard loud and clear.
It was the love of friends who love Jesus that cut out the cynic with a master stroke.
It was the answer to prayer that BAM! sent shock waves through our doubting flesh.

God answers prayer.

We are his redeemed family.

Never beyond his view.

Yes. Sometimes those answers come way down the line.
Farther away than we could ever imagine.
And sometimes they arrive quick and ready.

Other times we pray, intercede and reach for them over and over and over, over long periods of time.
But when they do arrive, there is no doubt where they come from.
Immediately we know.
He knows us.
He hears us.
He is remarkable in love.

This is the resounding worship of believers all over the world.  He is calling them forth from every tribe and nation.

So remain in Him.
Stand.
Patiently endure for the sake of those loved by God.
Trust the Master way past what you understand.
Do the Father's will.

Eternal life is knowing the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  John 17:3
Walking in the Spirit
in his leading and guidance
assures we will arrive with the image of Christ chiseled all over us.

You will know him, if you wait for him!
Psalms 27:14

Much love in Jesus.

In the Storms of Life Promise Guides us to His Heart

So what are 2 things to focus on when your are tempted to lean into and on the arm of the flesh rather than walk in the Spirit?

Promise and Provision
Double promise double portion is even better!
  1. Promise
Our good Father gives us promises to cling to, dwell in and prosper by.  He paints a picture for us of the life we are called into and the way before us.  Our feet enter the lands of promise as we walk by faith in the power of the Spirit.  Promise is the stepping stone, the pavement of the kingdom highway.  Promise overcomes religion, sacrifice over obedience and places us front and center abiding in the Lord Jesus.  Promise guides us to his heart in the storms of life.  Promise tells us we remain in him by the power of his love.  Promise and trust are deep friends who dwell together in every step of life.  Our Father blesses us daily in his promises.

Sometimes all we have are the promises of God.  Grasping a hold of them in deep dark storms displays our trust for the Father's steadfast love.

The love of God, experienced by us, filling us up, overcoming our fears, laying waste to the culture of death around us, is rooted in a great promise.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36As it is written:
“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”j
37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,k neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:34-39

2. ProvisionA very important insight flows from a question of Jesus.
"How many loaves do you have? Go and see."  Mark 6:38

What has he already given you?

All of us have a store house of grace, blessings, favor and love from the Father to some measure(2 Cor 9:10)Everyone of us has something to be thankful for, something of special grace from God, the very knowledge of the Holy One being the first and unshakable reality of our lives.

Put in motion what we have and leave behind focusing on what we don't have.

Thanksgiving sits down at the table of promise first.  Always welcome.  Always understanding that the steadfast love of God is in motion with us.  We are found in love (John 3:16) grown in Love (Ephesians 3:17-18) gain our true understanding and vision in love (Ps 27:6).

Store of seeds. (2 Cor 9:10)

Talents (Matthew 25:14f)
Spiritual Gifts  (Eph 4:7)

Authority to heal and drive out demons (Matthew 10:8)
Matthew 10:8, "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give."

If you do not use, activate, take to the limit everything given to you by the grace of God the flowing streams of grace may simply trickle.  There are always streams flowing, but they may be intermittent and small.  Putting to work by faith all the grace and blessings of God in your life maximizes the outflow, the multiplication, the glory.  Streams fill up rapidly in an environment of faith, service and love.

When we think that all the blessings are for our benefit we miss the heart of the Father completely.

If we have no desire to pour out blessing on the world, the blessings of steadfast love we have known ourselves, we need to check and see if we are in the faith.  God is love.  Love is clear and simple.  People who are loved know it.  We have a kingdom in which every action is bathed in rich and deep lovea steadfast love that the Saints have been learning about since the beginning. (Genesis 22:14)

Abraham was blessed to be a blessing. (Genesis 22:18) If we miss this we miss the heart of the LORD Jesus for the world.
When we call what we have...
Limited
Not enough
Falling short
Coming up incomplete

We fall off the pinnacle of grace, mercy and loveWhen we begin to work in our own strength, ideas, good as they may be, and human power, we are not building his Kingdom.

1. Go and look for what you have.
5 loaves and 2 fish for 5000
2. Go and see how God has blessed you.  Thankfulness is at the heart of worship.  It is where the joy filled life in God begins and ends.
3. Apply Faith to what you have...  He blessed it.  Be a blessing with all you have.
4. Build Hope into everything you do.  Start passing out what you have and filling baskets for distribution. Try 5000 and see a miracle!
5. Step out on the waters of faith, hope and LOVE in Jesus you have and endless supply.
6.  Put on the eyes of Christ and bring his kingdom -  contact in love, pray for the sick, cast out the demonic strongholds.

Above all remain deeply rooted and abiding in the steadfast love of the Lord Jesus.
There is no place like leaning on his chest.  John was welcomed in his deep desire to be near to Jesus.  You and I are as well.

Much love in Jesus.
Be strong and courageous.
He is able to bring you fully into his fullness of Joy.
Walk in the Spirit and in the power of his might!

Get your Hopes UP
Get your desire for HIM awake.
Never settle for a
Divided
Daunted
Hindered
HEART.
YOU were made for something so much more amazing and free!

Some paths you can take once you step into the Sun!
Be with HIM.

Be sent by HIM.

These two simple foundations create a motion and reality in your walking in the Spirit that is constant and effective.  The Kingdom will begin to move in and through you by faith on a daily basis.  You will not only do great things in the power of the Spirit but you will be full of the great love of God that is steadfast and immovable.

Get these two foundations in prayer!
How's your 24?
How's your prayer walk?
Sowing into prayer is the greatest avenue for consistent joy in Jesus than any other thing out there.
