2014 - What is the Spirit pointing to? Here are some of the things I believe we may encounter and find the Spirit deepening and drawing out in the coming year and beyond.

2014 - There will be a greater refinement of Kingdom alignment - Aligning to Love –The LOVE PROJECT

Undivided Heart – Wholly devoted.   The world has a way of teaching us to live with a divided heart.  Living for God with a heart that is 1) Protected and in fear of pain  2) Bound by offense and scandal 3) chained up with sins from chords and attachments and deep places in our soul 4) enemy wounds that have been attributed to the Father that cool our love, freedom, worship and intercession.  

Wholehearted love without hypocrisy - with more discernment of true love

A heart in agreement with the mind and soul, expressing love through the body with the Kingdom first and righteousness embraced, is a wholehearted love.   This is my prayer, my solemn vow, “ I will love You” (IHOP Kansas city).   The call for first love will remain the same and deepen in 2014.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Fruit of the LOVE PROJECT - Unity will go deeper as love and honor prosper.

There is an invitation from the Spirit for a renewed and deepened understanding of LOVE.   It will be ushered in with fresh links connecting the WORD and the WAYS of GOD.   The essence of heaven is LOVE.  All created things both in heaven and on earth find their center in the Trinity love.  LOVE is first.  Returning to first love and loving first are the first things in the heart of the Father for the Bride of his Son.  The love of many has grown cold.   The heart is the battle field of love.  The enemy has gone after the trust and love of the Saints and with cunning has sown into the hearts of the lovers of God thorns and weeds.  The thorns and weeds have choked the love that is the birthright and inheritance of all the Saints through the ages.   The present unity, expressed deeply as a shared heart of free and abiding love for the Father, will be called out into deeper and deeper love.  Expect revelation in the eyes of the heart and knowledge of the Son of God to expand and deepen.   The pure heart will be called out in the face of the unfulfilled, disappointed, offended.   The LOVE PROJECT will find more and more ground as the hearts of the Saints return to the LORD.   The people of God will find themselves rejoicing, singing, dancing, celebrating in the freedom of their inheritance.  The SON of the LIVING GOD will take up new seats of understanding in our hearts.   

What do I expect to see LOVE accomplish in 2014?

• LOVE will deepen cooperation.  Laying down our lives for our friends/one another will deepen the expression of the Kingdom and will triumph over competition as glory and grace arise.   The sins of the heart will be defeated over and over. New fresh wells of abiding presence will fill the heart and establish oneness with Christ.
• LOVE will raise up warriors - the encounters of freedom and grace in the heart and open heavens worship will bring in renewed understanding of essential Kingdom truths - LOVE wins.  LOVE is eternal.  GOD is LOVE.  A resolve will grow in the heart that will be fostered by faith and deepened in daily hope. 
• LOVE will invite believers to sacrifice - "Offer your bodies as living sacrifices" (Rom 12:1-2) "No greater love is this than a man lay down his life for his friends" (John 15:13).  LOVE will compel the heart to greater works and the Spirit will unite hearts in agreement. 
• LOVE will call, with a longing that cannot be quenched, for deeper abiding in HIS presence.  This is not a passing moment of grace. The Lord is adding something to the already deep wells of worship.  Deep abiding.  This is a grand canyon cleansing of the Bride and a restoration of heart to the Father.   The deep longings of the heart will be answered with a "yes" in Christ Jesus.  The Saints who chose to let all else fall away to love, will find a deep and abiding river growing into dreams, visions, signs and wonders.  There is no end to the Father's heart.  This gift will set those who chose to surrender as "pillars in the temple of my God" (Rev 3:12).   
• LOVE will define the Church in His desires - the ways of God will find their way to the forefront of the ways of the church.   The ways of God will begin to become the fabric of the Church as more and more hearts are captured in his love and presence.   A new confidence will arise as the Saints "see" and the "wonder" is returned to the churches daily living.  The King will take up his seat.  The way of the King will begin to become clearer as his ways are established in the life and practice of the Church.   The worthless will clearly be defined as the precious comes to greater light and understanding.   
• LOVE will call the Church to teach "citizenship" -  the citizens of the Kingdom are first people of trust and love from the heart.   Love of God will find expression in ways that cause people to say "truly, they love one another".

Spring is here - Winter is past.  The Gardener is preparing the ground for spring

John,  the Apostle of love, tells us that patient endurance (Rev 1:9 ) is an essential ingredient in forerunners.  Though the winter is past, the ground needs preparation and to be made ready for the coming spring.    The pathway to a garden of harvest is found on the road of Faith (planting and nurturing seedlings and seeds) Hope (watering and encouraging in the Spirit - reminding of glory to come - prophetic voices remembered) and LOVE "which binds all things together" (Col 3:14 ).   

Saints that have submitted themselves to the Lord through seasons of hardship and endurance and have remained in LOVE will see a new spring.   A wave of grace and the miraculous will wash into their lives in the comfort of the heart they have received and known.   Deepened faith, hope and love will blossom into powerful ability in the Spirit to free hearts from captivity and brokenness and set them into places of the undivided heart and wholehearted devotion.   

Forerunners need to revisit the fires of the prophetic pronouncements over them and renew their hearts in the place of deep abiding love. This is in the presence of the LORD.  From this place renewed vision and the spring will be clearly seen and understood.   From this place prayers of faith and encouragement to hope will plant the new crop of the coming spring time garden.  

The spring will bring forth salvation in new streams that grow into rivers.  The the flow of the stream growing into the river will be Righteousness, Cleansing and Deliverance and Freedom.  The gardeners need to prepare pathways for these to flow freely and with childlike faith, hope and love.  Prepare the way for the LORD.  

There will be a deeper expression of Power in all dimensions of his ways.

As LOVE, a supernatural love powered in the grace of the King and all the perfect work of Jesus,  finds it's place at the center of our hearts, miracles signs and wonders will increase.   A deepened understanding will put new eyes in the hearts of the Saints.   Equip. Equip. Equip.  There is a leading of the Spirit from this place of presence that is free, full of joy and continues as abiding presence.  Presence move to power as the heart finds it's place of deep abiding in love. 

Cleansing words, words of purifying power and righteousness, will become jewels and gems in greater and greater measure.   

What was despised by the divided heart will be embraced with joy and celebrated in Spirit and Truth worship. 

Word and Spirit, combined skillfully in the hands of the seasoned, will impart breakthrough deliverance and salvation.   There is a continuing invitation from the Spirit to deeper understanding of the Word.  A combining of Fire and Water understanding (study these two in the Scripture - interesting relationship) will light the Word in the hearts of those who will follow the leading of the Spirit.  Questions lead to new avenues in the Word.  Hungry minds linked with presence focused abiding hearts will generate amazing new understanding of the Scriptures.  Renewed understanding will flow and what was despised by the divided heart will be embraced with joy and celebrated in Truth and Spirit worship. 

Financial blessing will be connecting to Kingdom action in greater measure.

Cooperation and multiplication will occur in the ministry of intercession.   

The Father's heart of unity will extend the cooperation of intercessors and houses of prayer.  The physical environment is calling for "flags set about the region for his glory and power".  Territory claimed in the grace and authority of the Father, needs to be flagged and staked.   The Father's heart of unity will extend the cooperation of intercessors and houses of prayer.  More churches will join together in the presence. 

The Government of the Kingdom will be expressed in love, hope and faith.   "Daniel Princes" who appear to be in captivity will point to the expressions of the government of the Kingdom.  

A Word and Spirit people with a Throne Down life who believe the prophetic encouragement and seek to live as sacrifices - "Spend me as YOU will"- will find themselves fore-running Jeremiah 33:3.   Living now in the restored fortunes and double portion, these "Friends of God first" will rejoice in what is unseen and marvel at the hand of the LORD in the daily affairs of life. 

Many will go from cocoon to butterfly and eat the nectar from he tree tops.
There will be a continued and steady emergence of the "NEW" with identification and transformation into the new.      Go after your heart longings - dreams, visions, heavenly encounters and call out to the Spirit for encouragement, strengthening and comfort.   Do not despise prophecy.   The "work of the way" will require more time in the presence; more diligence in walking and unpacking the abundance of treasure that will flow into our lives.   There is a "ramping up" and a "learning to fly from the heart" that requires faith, hope and love.   
The cocoon is not captivity.   The Kingdom is not limited by the circumstances surrounding us.  In fact the forerunners are being set into place requiring "overcoming" so that an essential Kingdom reality can be set in their hearts.   The heart can soar in every and all circumstances.  The love and trust and connection of relationship with the Father has no bounds or limitations.  The work of Jesus has forever sealed our family ties, identity and friendship of the heart.   Our High Priest has ascended from the Earth to the Heavens and is seated in the Heavenly tabernacle. His work is finished.  Approach the Throne with confidence.  Nothing can separate us from the daily living experience and encounter with HIS love.  The reality of the Kingdom and His Righteousness will be worked into the heart in such a way that we will become pillars in the temple.  

The Nation will overlook the streams of righteousness that will be flowing "underground" as persecution, limited and localized, will further stimulate the WAR for the HEART.   This shift is of grand canyon proportions.  The Spirit will test and try hearts on a scale unheard of.  The realms of what is described as the "Seven Mountains" will continuously produce opportunity for Daniel Princes and Ester Queens to stand in the way of LOVE and with wisdom to advance the Kingdom.  

The WAR will include a purging of Jezebel and Balaam as the presence is restored heart after heart.  Self focused earth minded worship will find itself in conflict with the presence focused abiding rest of worship that encounters the Lord.   The purging of our ways for God's ways and the uprooting of life circumstances will challenge the heart deeply.  Jezebel worship and prophecy will be exposed to a purity of heart and a surrender to the Spirit. 

Jezebel will seek to justify his/her righteousness with money, power and control.   Watch for the "weapons of the world" and the "ways of the world" to be uprooted in the Church.  (See my blog on Jezebel for more insight into her ways) A battle of  discernment will unfold.  Kingdom and righteousness will seek deeper footing in the ways of the church and relationships of believers.   
The Church is partially intact.  Her reproductive systems are working, but her experience of the deep presence of God is lacking.  In many, a proper alignment to nurture a life of love and the presence of God is missing. 
Spirit and Truth worship is founded on the revelation of Jesus Christ and the Word of God.   Distorted worship, self -righteousness, affections and intimacy that belong to God but are given over to idols and self focused earth minded worship will find themselves in conflict with the purging of God's ways and the uprooting of circumstances.  The False intimacy found in pornography and Baal worship will by God's grace be brought to light in the heart of those who should be HIS own.   MORE presence LESS Jezebel.   

The things we embrace above a heart devotion for the King will become the things that the King uses to correct us.  
For many the world, the circumstances of life and place in life, and the affirmation of the world spirit, are the comfort and assurance of the heart.  This will not stand in the jealous love of the Father.  

The Prophetic must link with the Apostolic.

Revelation and Government must link in truth, in grace, in love and in the WAYS of GOD.  A confusion has grown with time as the Apostolic slowly emerges.  Revelation is not government.  Revelation informs government, links the joints and sinews together and inspires the heart in the presence of the LORD.  Greater understanding and wisdom of the inner workings of God in the realms, roles and places of power are being called forth in the relationship of the prophetic to the apostolic.   Prophetic ministries in some cases have grown used to the void of anointed government.  A new level of alignment will continue as love is set into the core actions of the prophetic.  The prophetic ministry must be kneaded into the church with great love and care.  Prophets "originating by revelation" and not set to build with the apostolic will be called into alignment to LOVE first and to inspiring the Government of the Kingdom (Isa 9:7).  David was encouraged to "Do what is in your heart" by Nathan.   The Kingdom alignment is continuing to establish that power flows through Kingdom Government.   Government is founded in the the wisdom of the Kingdom and produces lasting and ordered progress of the Kingdom culture.   The presence power and peace of the Kingdom set down into the ways of the Church are required.   The ways of God are not fully understood or deeply elaborated on in the teaching brought forth in the church.  
A greater refinement of the Fivefold government will call for this relationship (prophets and apostles) to be refined in righteousness and truth. Walking in sacrifice and mutual submission of undeniable unity and bathed in the LOVE of the Father's heart the Fivefold impart mystery and the mind of Christ in powerful measure.   The mystery of the Fivefold thrives in unity, love, mutual sacrifice.   There is a multiplication of power, grace and Kingdom establishing power release as they co-labor in the culture of the kingdom.  The ways of the Kingdom must become the essential ways of the Fivefold.  2014 will bring doorways into greater understanding of these relationships and expressions of the Fivefold.   
For Central Oregon in particular, the call is for the prophetic ministry to rise up and come into greater maturity.  This process will call forth endurance and perseverance in the hearts of the prophetic voices.  The refining fires set in the way will add to the comfort with which the ministries will comfort all.    The prophets need to pass through the same righteousness as it relates to their gifting and hearts.  Great love will be called forward as the temple is built.   Who will call forth the Bride to build the temple?   Who has the connection to the limitless heart of the Father for his Son's beloved?   Who can walk in patient endurance properly aligned?

The ministry of the prophet will be refined to LOVE and demonstrate the power of the Spirit in encouragement, comfort and strengthening the Bride.  The days of "acts of righteousness without love going UN-discerned" will begin to come to a close.  Those who condemn, elevate themselves, originate without proper alignment to government will see the fruit of their tree discerned.   LOVE will triumph over all the ways of Jezebel.   The discernment of the Church will rise as truth gives way to WORD and SPIRIT. 

The Ways of Power will be revealed and widened as the way of the presence is rooted and established in the hearts of the Saints and church after church surrenders to the Father's heart. 

Something greater and more lasting is seeking root in the hearts of the Saints.  An understanding of the eyes of the heart that flows from ancient Kingdom truths long lost is being re-established.  We will know Christ in his sufferings and righteousness and overcome the world with his love.   Nothing will loose the heart from the abiding love of Jesus.  Deep Word connections are being called out from the presence that will be expressed in power.   Sign posts and markers have been set on the path.  Wisdom and understanding will be imparted which will allow for teaching and impartation to rise.  Streams are already flowing that will widen with LOVE and care evident in the Body of Christ. 

Worship culture will give way to Presence and Kingdom Culture.

The Saints will ADD in settings of worship and intercession as the Throne becomes the place of the heart.  The Fivefold will multiply.   A culture of addition will find it's way into the worship culture of the Church.  Inheritance will be the "eye" of presence.   The norms of worship culture will give way to the leading of the Spirit and the joy of the freedom in HIS presence.  Again, the heart will have to find it's way through the simple leading of the Spirit.   The ability to "judge" the worship culture or the value of the worship will fade as a worship culture emerges that flows freely without boundaries through the refined heart.   The linear will find itself challenged by the multiplication of the Kingdom.  

The Fivefold will grow

C.O.R.E - Commission / Operation / Righteous / Expansion - the miracle of multiplication of the 5000

S.C.O.P.E. -  Spirit / Consecration / Operation (ways of God) / Power / Expansion 

The Spirit (particularly in Central Oregon) is seeking to raise the water mark of Fivefold expression.  The maturing of the Unity of the Spirit is the foundation.  The LOVE PROJECT is the continued exploration of this direction.   The culture of the Kingdom and the Ways of God are the operations and the Righteousness of the Kingdom is the pathway to expansion.   
It is too early to judge ministries or focus on relationship structures.   Some are stumbling as this is an old mindset linked to a pastoral and church based vision of the city, region, nation.    The Spirit is still sowing dreams, prophetic confirmation, reviving worship and intimacy, calling forth new intercession, directing whole Churches to deeper presence encounters, and drawing out latent vision and heart desires.  The waves are still advancing and touching new people and Churches.  While at the same time righteousness is being depended in pruning and preparing the ground for spring.  This is the season of generosity, blessing, encouragement, prophetic guidance, establishing LOVE and UNITY, clearly setting the presence of God as the first, and deeply exploring the power and finished work of the LORD JESUS in every aspect of the individual believer, the Church's ways and the Fivefold message.  Some, remaining in old mindsets will evaluate the forward edges of this move for it's outward signs.   These exciting and wonderful fires of power carry a deepening refinement in righteousness.   This is the first fruit of the coming waves.  The real power is in the changes of the heart, the transformation by the Spirit, to the righteousness required to walk in this way.  The power truths of the Gospel are seeking to be renewed in the hearts and essential ways of the Church.   The Fivefold carry a standard and level of revelation that speaks continually to the advance of life and freedom in Christ.  They carry the grace and authority to bring this way into the life of the Church.   You will know them by their fruit.   Unity, Love, Sacrifice, Honor, Generosity, Heart of the Father, Patient Endurance, Faithfulness, HOPE, FAITH, and LOVE which binds all things together in the POWER and finished work of our SAVIOR JESUS. 

There is much more on the way.  A restoring of faith, hope and love for the Church and all her majestic glory; a power of deliverance and wisdom that moves with all the Saints that does not require special training or education - Spirit wisdom and Isaiah 61 deliverance power.  Deeper groanings and longings in the presence of the LORD that translate into ways of power and love.   The ministry of Jeremiah is a key to understanding much of these times and seasons.   

So much more to come.   And come it will like the wind.

Ok, So I Am Coming Clean / King of Glory come in

What glory is waiting to get out of you?  What fears of failure, weakness and falling short has limited you from throwing open the gates of your heart and life to the King of Glory?    

Open the Gates.  Let the King of Glory come in.   Let grace have its way in you.  Shed the past in the fires of HIS unending love.   He will meet you at the point of your desire.  

OK so I am coming clean.  

I have always wanted to be the champion of those saints who were willing to throw it all on the line.  Stepping out in faith and going for that crazy thing the Lord had spoken to them.   My understanding of the Kingdom is that it calls out reckless abandon in the Saints as the King of Glory enthralls them.    

Why do we draw back?   What is in us that turns us away from open heavens?

I think I as I reflect on this, that I have sought to encourage myself.   I have believed from the first that Jesus was the only  “most valuable” thing I’ve had in life.  And in so doing I have encouraged others to live for the highest ideals of the kingdom of God.  To run after Jesus as the end and sum total of what living is about.   To adore him and worship him with no constraints and follow him literally in this world, in this life, is the true meaning of life and living.  

As much as I have set my life to encourage that kind of devotion in the heart of those I love and walk with, I believe I’ve only seen the curtain drawn back partially in over 33 years of following.   Nothing has made me happier than the smile of a Saint that has been captured new and fresh with the love and presence of Jesus.  When the revelation lands on them with joy and a smile, and the revelation knowledge that they belonging to Him and He to them settles on them, I rejoice deeply.    Heaven seems to resound in those moments.

Never before have I had the opportunity to walk into “what I have always felt my life in His Kingdom to be about”.    Today, I am standing on the threshold.  And in seeing that doorway before me, I am completely humbled and emptied.   It is not a way that I can affect.  It is heaven coming to earth not earth reaching to heaven.   As I stand before all this and “see into the heavens” the earth in me, which is such a disappointment, rises.   As the wine press of HIS love tightens and constricts my flesh, I inevitably see the biter and earth minded rise to the top of my life.    Again, my King scrapes away the dross and new life appropriate for the time leaps up and envelops my soul. 

There is sweet wine on the way!

When that dross expresses itself among the people of the King I am undone.   I am talking about the sin of not walking in the calling I’ve received for fear, the wine press that comes with it, and sheer weakness.   I’ve not experienced weakness like I have over the past 4 months.   The magnitude of revelation has dwarfed me.   I have to admit that I have failed more than succeeded in walking in the revelation and in the new.     His strength is perfected in weakness.   This I know all to well. 

But, I constantly want to move out of that place of weakness and into His strength.  It is here at the foot of Jacobs ladder that I have been wrestling with the Spirit of the Lord.   My flesh rising and screaming for prominence and my Spirit reveling in the true Son of God; day to day, I rise up into it and slip back out.  

When I am really outside my anointing and the life giving love of Christ’s gaze, I see my actions and weep.   Anyone close to me in ministry has seen my blemishes and I repent to the Lord for those distortions of his glory.   Standing juxtaposed against the amazing revelation of the Lord and the desire to be one of HIS mighty men, dross is painful and disappointing to the core.    Over the years I have delivered my share of dross to the table of the Saints.   My heart breaks over this.    The heart’s cry is for wisdom and understanding to teach and declare to the Saints the beauty of the Lord and the all surpassing power for us who believe.

The revelation.  I’ve tasted it.  Here for a moment.  Here for a day.   Here for a weekend.  Here for weeks on end.  Revelating with the Spirit and lost in worship,  I want to walk in it every moment.   My body aches for His presence.  It shudders and shakes under his power and love.    I’ve seen the vision and I want to walk in it.   It presented itself as a door before me.   I ran in.  I determined to run with no hesitation; to throw off every hindrance and abandon myself to the Love of the Son of God. 

As I entered in,  I found my own limitations and fears, sins and brokenness.   The wine press has kicked in and I have failed on occasion to deliver the revelation as delivered to me for my dross and fears.  Trying to explain the deeper things is like trying to order food in a different language.   A phrase and a line but never the ability to lay out the whole order.    Kingdom calling is at times very lonely.     Mercy and love triumph over judgment.    

Of late, I have discovered the culture of honor is the environment that releases the beauty of the King turning it into and environment of glory.   Everyone benefits in an environment where failing is allowed and our goal is Christ glorified and his servants honored in their station.    Such an environment is like swimming in grace, unity, freedom, and revelation of the inheritance we share with the Victory, Christ Jesus. 

So, the time is up.  It is time to come clean and spill my guts out.   I’ve hidden in the respectable place for far to long.   I said to the Lord, “I am willing to be your fool” and I have to commit myself to doing and saying and speaking what he has revealed.  Foolish as it may be.  Tough as it may be.  I need to let out the reality of what God is doing and not hold back.   I’ve been too interested in pastoral acceptance and the praise that comes with following the norm and the acceptable paths of the day.  Frankly, those paths are dead wood.  The tree has but a few green branches and we are living in the past.   New revelation has come and the prophetic word of Malachi 3:1-4 is alive and happening now in the Body of Christ.   There is a way that leads to glory and flows out of the knowledge of the Lord and is from faith to faith to faith.    I am going to move in and let it out.   I am giving up the hiding place.  I am going to continue to press into all that the Lord opens up with abandon and fire.    

For me, coming clean means really letting everyone who knows me know that I realize I am weak, poor, naked and blind.   I’ve made more mistakes in ministry than in any other sphere of life, or so it seems.  Maybe they stick out more clearly because of the equal love I have for the Saints and the Bride.  I realize that nothing good that has ever drifted off my lips or out of my heart has had life outside of the Spirit and the person of Jesus.    It amazes me that the Spirit would use me at all.   I know what he knows, all of it.   And he is able to take that broken tattered vessel and in matchless grace sow seeds of grace, freedom and love into the Saints.   I’ve been short sighted and bumbled on God’s precious people.   I’ve been short or answered out of my limitations and have cut the people of the King.    I walk with a limp.  

Coming clean – sounding like a fool….yea and amen.  I need to commit to the crazy and wonderful full disclosure of what the Lord is doing in me and through me to his glory.    I kept things quiet.  I need to step up and let some of it out.

What glory is waiting to get out of you?  What fears of failure, weakness and falling short has limited you from throwing yourself on the King of Glory?    

Open the Gates of your spirit to the King of Glory and His manifest glory.  Let the King of Glory come in.   He will meet you at the point of your desire.

The Kingdom of God is an occupying and invading force.
The Kingdom is a government expressing the rule and reign of Jesus Christ in the earth. (Isa 9:7) It smashes into and against the strongholds, powers and spiritual forces of evil resident in the world.  It dislodges them with “weapons not of this world.” (II Cor 10:4)

“I just want to let you know you have a Jezebel spirit”, we want to say.   This is not the way of love and represents fighting with Jezebel’s weapons.  You will loose and most likely bring more harm than good with this approach.   Primarily, it is about you and I walking in our authority as a believer and our divine calling.  The authority that comes with that calling should be fully engaged and walked in or a vacuum is created for Jezebel to “take that authority” as her own.  Jezebel has no authority unless it is surrendered.   She has a false soulish power that is not generated by the Spirit.   This can be discerned by listening closely for the Spirit.  He, Jezebel, can only move into the void of authority figures that are not exercising their Divine calling (Ahab).   Jezebel intimidates.  You will feel the fear when she confronts you and think about your own survival.  Treats, clear attacks and character assassination are her weapons of choice.  This is a sure sign you are confronting this spirit, fear and self-preservation becomes your focus.   Jezebel confuses.  You cannot reason with this spirit.  It’s power is not derived from reason, rather it is soulish control and very subtle manipulation.  Trust the Lord.  He is your deliverer.  Ps 35 is an excellent prayer tool to pray when confronted by this spirit.   John Bevere’s book Breaking Intimidation is a brilliant source to explore walking in your calling and authority. 

Jezebel thrives in environments where divine authorities relinquish their authority. Where wounds and hurts are fed, embraced and then the enemy’s lies are adopted as truth.  Once the lies are internalized and linked to the wounds and hurts of the past, Jezebel will manifest with greater and greater power.  

Prophets expose.  Kings defeat.  

Elijah exposed the hearts of Israel and confronted the false worship of the Baal priests.  The power encounter set the stage for the fall of Jezebel.  But the king Jehu defeated her.   Today the prophetic voice has risen up in the Church with amazing beauty and power.    


The voice of the Spirit is declaring that first priority is worship; first love with deeper and deeper intimacy with the Lord Jesus.   As the prophets defeat the worship of Baal through the power encounter of “fire” and the restoration of awe and wonder of the Lord, the Kings can arise to regain the divine authority granted to them and defeat Jezebel herself.  

Revelation 2:18-29  N.T. – Jesus rebukes the Thyatira church saying,  “you tolerate that woman Jezebel.”  The Jezebel puts up a serious attack on intimacy (sexual immorality) and worship (eating food sacrificed to idols).   In ancient Israel, through Ahab’s abdication of authority, she corrupted Israel’s worship by introducing sexual and sensual false worship of BAAL and Asherah (fertility gods).   Very subtle, the hearts of Israel were diverted from intimacy with the Father and away to sexual and intimate perversion in the form of worship.  Jezebel destroys intimate devotion to Christ by sowing fear and intimidation.  He causes us to focus on our preservation and ourselves and in response we seek to fight back with the same type of weapons.  Remember, “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of this world.  On the contrary, we have divine power to demolish strongholds.” II Cor 10:4   What is the weapon that conquered the world?   LOVE.  Nothing in all creation is as powerful as the love of God and love for God in bringing down the Jezebel spirit.   But we must restore worship and our sexuality.  It must be surrendered to Jesus.  

Jezebel established Baal worship in Israel.  Elijah confronted 400 prophets of Baal. He was one of few remaining prophetic voices in Israel at the time.  What was Baal worship about?  

Baal worship and the fight for the heart, pure and true sensual life and divine sexuality are at WAR.  Viewer be advised, this youtube video is very specific, but you may come to understand the spirit at work and recognize that the ancient demonic spirits are alive and well.

I put it into first person because when we are confronted by a Jezebel any fear we have must be submitted to the Holy Spirit.  We are also in the process of being freed when fear rise up in us.  We have something to loose!  We fear loosing it.  This points to how we may have gained it in the first place.   Submit all fears to Jesus and ask him to free you and reveal the underlying issues. 

Do I….

1. Refuse to admit guilt or wrong

A Jezebel spirit is never wrong, unless it is a temporary admittance of guilt to gain "favor" with someone. To accept responsibility would violate the core of insecurity and pride from which it operates. When a Jezebel apologizes it is never in true repentance or acknowledgment of wrongdoing but rather "I'm sorry your feelings were hurt."

2. Take credit for everything

While a strong trait of Jezebel is to never take responsibility for his wrong actions or behavior, he also is quick to take credit for benefits for which he contributed no effort.

3. Use people to accomplish my agenda

The Jezebel spirit lets others do its dirty work. The Jezebel gets another person's emotions stirred up, then lets that person go into a rage. The Jezebel sits back looking innocent, saying "Who me? What did I do?" This behavior makes it difficult for even the most ardent truth seekers to pin one down. The Jezebel spirit is clever in its agenda.

4. Withhold information

This is a form of control. A Jezebel wields power over you by knowing something you don't know in a situation. In the eyes of a Jezebel, having information you don't have is a powerful weapon of control.

5. Talk in confusion

It is impossible to converse with a Jezebel in logic. One pastor wrote a six-page letter to his elders about a situation in the church. The context was so vague that no one was without confusion. This is a way to maintain control and domination. When confronting a Jezebel, the subject may be changed five times in one minute. Confusion keeps them "undiscovered" and unexposed.

6. Volunteer for anything

A Jezebel volunteers in order to establish control. He seemingly has endless (nervous) energy and eagerly looks for opportunities to be in charge of projects. Although he will work hard, his motive is never pure, and eventually his secret agenda cannot be hidden.

7. Lie

A Jezebel lies convincingly. No one can lie better than he can. He can turn on the charm and make you believe blue is red. He always fools those whom he's just met while those who have been victimized by his tactics stand by helplessly. The fact that Jezebel can look you in the eye and lie just shows how strong and adamant this rebellious and recalcitrant spirit is.

8. Ignore people

A classic ploy of a controller is to ignore you when you disagree with him. This tactic is frequently used by leaders when someone doesn't agree with their plans, and they isolate the person by ignoring him. Some in these situations have been ignored for months, just because they chose not to be a puppet and say to every idea or whim. This puts the person out of the leader's grace and forces him to either "come around" to the leader's way of thinking or be indefinitely ignored. One is not free to disagree with a controller.

9. Never give credit or show gratitude

A Jezebel will rarely acknowledge another person's actions, not even for something that turned out to greatly benefit the Jezebel. He just cannot bring himself to say thank you or to acknowledge that someone else did something right. There are those who have gone out of their way to bless a Jezebel by being the catalyst of sending him on a trip or giving a gift. Yet never will there be a thank you. This again puts the controller in a position of power.

10. Criticize everyone

This is a characteristic of a controller. He has to be the one who looks good, so he will quickly sharply criticize anyone who makes a suggestion or plan. Even though he likes the plan, he can only criticize it because the idea did not originate from him. Criticizing others elevates the controller in his own mind.

11. One-upmanship

A person with a Jezebel spirit will always upstage another person. He feels threatened by anyone who dares to steal the limelight or anyone who is a threat to his power and control. If you are with such a person and tell of your accomplishment or victory, you can be assured he will quickly tell of something he has accomplished.

12. Sequester information

A Jezebel loves to be in control of information. If there is ever a situation where information is important, he will push to be the "first" to know it. He seems to know everything about everyone. Where he gets all his information is beyond comprehension, but he can dictate to you data and details about people's lives and actions in mass quantities.

13. Use information

A Jezebel uses information as a leverage for power and then shares tidbits with you, often things told him in confidence. This gives him a sense of power, even to the point of trying to impress people by "knowing things" that others do not.

14. Talk incessantly

Many people talk habitually, but a Jezebel uses talking as a form of control. In a typical conversation, he does all the talking, whether it is about sports, the weather or the Kingdom of God. Because of this form of control, he is unable to receive input from anyone in his life. All conversation with him is one-sided. You are doing the listening.

15. Spiritualize everything

When a controller is confronted, he commonly spiritualizes the situation, explaining it off on God. This prevents him from owning up to responsibility required of him. The implication is always, "You've got a problem; I don't."

16. Act insubordinate

A Jezebel never takes the side of the employer or a person in authority, unless it is a temporary action to make herself look good. He often will take credit for someone else's idea. His main desire is for power and control. There is no conscience when an opportunity for recognition presents itself.

17. Act pushy and domineering

A person with a Jezebel spirit pressures you to do things, seemingly ripping from you your right to choose or make a decision for yourself. He makes others feel as though they don't have enough sense to think for themselves.

18. Act clairvoyant

Many who operate with a spirit of control also have a clairvoyant spirit. A Jezebel has supernatural help in knowing and sensing information. If he uses this against you, he may say "I can't tell you how I know this. I just know it." This is not the Holy Spirit, but the help of a clairvoyant or familiar spirit. Clairvoyance may be defined as the power to perceive things that are out of the range of human senses.

19. Use the element of surprise

A Jezebel's main thrust is to be in control, and a large part of control is catching you off guard. Therefore, the element of surprise works well when he shows up a day early for a meeting, etc.

20. Sows seeds of discord

A Jezebel will continually belittle another person in the most subtle way. The strategy is to "gain" control by minimizing the value of another person. It is common for him to tell half-truths to implicate another person in your eyes. By sowing these seeds, he hopes to eventually reap a harvest of destruction, improving his position of power.

21. Command attention

A Jezebel likes to be the center of attention and doesn't like to see others recognized and lauded. When someone else is recognized, he will quickly undermine the person's accomplishments verbally.

22. Act vengeful

Since a Jezebel is never wrong, if you contradict or confront one, get ready to become his worst enemy. As long as you are in agreement with her, all is fine. But if you confront or challenge him, then look out. You are the target of her fiercest venom. A Jezebel will stop at nothing to destroy your reputation.

23. Attempt to make others look like they are the Jezebel

A Jezebel spirit is difficult to pin down. If the person is near to being confronted, he or she will skillfully twist the entire situation, trying to make the innocent person look like the one who is attempting to control. As always, the Jezebel will do anything to look like the one who is right.  If you confront Jezebel with control you will see this ploy.  Weapons of the world are not going to defeat her.

24. Insinuate disapproval

A Jezebel will often imply disapproval to those under his or her control. The controlled person feels no freedom to express an opinion, for fear of disapproval. This often manifests in a marriage or in a working environment.

25. Know it all

A Jezebel is usually blatant regarding his knowledge of everything. Quick to express his opinion in any area, he leaves little room for anyone to point out the other side of an issue. He has made idols of his opinions.

26. Act ambitious

The Jezebel has strong desire, but all for self. "I want what I want when I want it," describes his worship of self-will. A Jezebel leader will never use the words, "We have a vision," but rather, "My vision is thus and so."

27. Gift giving

Gift giving is a form of manipulation a Jezebel uses that always makes you feel obligated to him. It also compromises the victim from speaking direct and confrontive truth. Naturally, not everyone who gives gifts is guilty of control, but gift giving is a tactic used by those who have a need to control.

28. Act independent

No one has input in a Jezebel's life. He fraternizes with no one unless it is to get you to "cooperate" with his agenda.

29. Act religious

A Jezebel dwells in the local church but doesn't like authority unless he is in the position of authority.

30. Hide

We all want to believe that the person with a Jezebel spirit is delivered. The person may seem "normal" for a period, exhibiting none of the classic traits. Then suddenly without warning a situation will arise, once again with the spirit taking control and wreaking havoc over lives. Hopefully, true repentance will come. Only then will the person be delivered.

The good news is that God gives each individual person the freedom of choice. Everyone has the freedom to make decisions, to make mistakes, to think for himself, to communicate, to like or dislike and to express his taste and creativity.

Those who control are in worship of their own wills and their own ways. Thank God for freedom.

If you recognize any of these traits in your own life, begin by praying this prayer.

Father, I acknowlege that I have yielded myself to the spirit of Jezebel.I come to you, humbling myself before you. I desire your standard of righteousness and holiness. I ask you to forgive me for my tolerance of the Jezebel spirit and for being sympathetic to its ways. Please forgive me for every way I have opened myself up to this spirit. Help me to ruthlessly reject every type of this thinking and the desire to control and manipulate other people. I renounce and bind this demon of Jezebel, and I pull down this stronghold in my life. Through the Holy Spirit I will live by your standard of righteousness, holiness and conduct. Open my eyes and cause Your light to expose any darkness, and help me to walk in humility and truth.
