What the Devil would rather You Didn't Know or Remember - Victory and Good News in Jesus. Part I

I have really good news.

The Three biggest challenges facing believers have all been defeated in
Power of Jesus Christ.

  1. The WORLD -  "Be of good cheer.  I have OVERCOME the WORLD.   John 16:33
  2. The Devil -  Fallen Arch Angel - Ruler of the Kingdom of Air!   Colossians 2:15
  3. SIN - Crucified and nailed to the Cross.  All the World's sins are forgiven in the Blood of Jesus Christ.  Believe in Jesus and receive the blessing.  Col 2:13-14

These three Victories shake the known world we live in every day.

These three Victories are forever sealed in Jesus Christ.  He sat down next to the Father after completing total victory for us.

A key ploy of the devil and his fallen angels is to reinforce that they don't exist.  Ignorance is a cup they love to fill with lies, half-truths and smoke.  For the believer moving into a clear understanding of these three victories imparts power to live in overcoming victory.  It empowers us to act with a different mindset.   "Resist the Devil and he will flee"  James 4:7    We easily resist the one we can overcome

It is hard to resist one that we don't know anything about.

Focus on the Enemy?  NO
Educate and Inform disciples of the true victory, the defeat of the Big Three - YES!

  •  Jesus did not.  Apostles did not.  Focus on the Enemy that is.   Rather they focused on receiving the Kingdom - the rule and reign of Christ Jesus.  We welcome the Lord.  He knocks and we open the door and fellowship with him.  He imparts vision and assignment and we welcome the Kingdom of love and grace.

  •  Jesus focused on doing the will of the Father.  John 5:20   He did not get his
cues from darkness, resistance or the enemy's opposition.   His God always provided from the Mountain top.  Genesis 22:14; Luke 6:12

Jesus never lived under or in the dominion of darkness.  He does not relate to us in it or through it's distorted mindsets.

Darkness is no longer part of the equation.

The apostles focused on direction and assignments from Jesus and on following the Spirit wherever he lead them.    Not on what the Darkness was doing.  They walked so as to shatter all darkness and dominion of the enemy.  It was a given.  If Jesus led them there "no gates would prevail against him".  They carried his Kingdom and authority.

Jesus took the disciples from the dominion of darkness into his kingdom of light.  They were learning to walk under the authority of his rule and Kingdom.  They walked with him in the world as he lived in the power of the Spirit and in the reality of a Kingdom devoid of darkness.  The dominion of the Kingdom of God is light!  Jesus is that great light of the world.  And we are the light here and now!   The apostles walked in the knowledge of the King and his authority.  They acted through the leading of the Spirit in the new dominion of light and the will of the Father through the redemption grace of Jesus Christ.

Typically that was to plunder the gates of the enemy. (Matthew 16:18) As carriers of the presence....  Quick reminder -
    • Jesus is with us always and everywhere we go - Matthew 28:20
    • We have the Mind of Jesus - Col 1:27
    • The Spirit will lead us and teach us - John 14:12-16
    • We can be prophetically alert to the things that will come our way.  I Tim 1:18-19

These three oppositions are at the root of the pain, sorrow and brokenness of humanity.

The world and it's elemental spirits, idols and fading things - tempting and making ways of temptation for us.  It distorted systems that enslave and hold captive believers in fear of reprisal
The sin that held us captive in our minds, emotions, spirit and body.  Defeated, it still rises up in the temptations of the world around us.  Stumbling the best of us.  Praise God for grace which is more powerful than any sin on earth.  We are set free from it's power and called out into the glorious grace of God.
The Fallen angel, the Devil, who seek to deceive and whose time is short. He can do nothing but lie.  There is no truth in him.  It's time the church grew in the depths of wisdom as James 3:17-18 speaks about -

But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.  Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.

Jesus defeated them all!

In the Cross
Rising to new life he leads the way as firstborn among the dead
Sitting down in heaven after ascending from the earth he forever sealed it all at the Father's side.

You and I have amazing grace and
Amazing glory  -  ready to fill us up completely.

The abundant life of Christ will fill the world until everything is in perfect unity with him.   Ephesians 1:9-10

He made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10 to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.

Put on your faith today.
Put on that huge joy that flows from the very heart of the Lord right out of heaven.
The Joy that fill us in all circumstances because we know our God Reigns!

He sees it all.
He made it all.
He completes it all in Righteousness, Peace and Joy in Jesus Christ!

Your day will change.
Your sorry will turn to joy.
Your toughest challenge will fade away in the glorious bountiful light in the face of Jesus.

Love you.
Just remember.
You can Do this.
He's got you.

You can do this because Jesus is with you and he has already done all of it!

He did it for you and I.

That is enough for a worship time anytime.

This Kingdom we are part of is
Righteousness
Peace
Joy
in the power of the Holy Spirit.

5 Ways to Stay Focused on Jesus in a Noisy World

The world is a noisy place.

It is full of distractions.

Full of choices.

When we're under fire and struggling, the world attempts to suck us into survival mentalities, passivity, and getting along.

When we are thriving, it lures us to every desire other than Christ.

There is always a narrow way in front of us.  Isaiah 43
God is faithful.
He provides a way out of debilitating circumstances and trails and temptations and paths of sin.

And.... he empowers us with grace, hope and love in Jesus.

It most likely will take effort and energy to breakout or breakthrough.
But know this.
Jesus overcame the world in every way.
With life giving love, righteousness and wisdom, he empowers us inside.  Renewing our mind in the Word.   Calling us forward to walking in the Spirit.

Jesus is peaceful.  He is good.  He is trustworthy.  He is life.

So here are 5 ways to stay focused on Jesus in a Noisy world.

1. Clearly identify your Allegiance.   Matthew 6:33  Seek First....

If your ultimate commitment to Jesus is wavering it's going to be tough when real choices for the Kingdom and loving God are presented to you under pressure.
Settle your allegiance now and first.  Make it clear.  "I have decided to follow Jesus."  No turning back.
Jesus made clear that walking along with a plow and looking back is not worthy of him.  There are so many things to throw us off the rails of following Jesus and walking in the Spirit.
A divided heart puts us out on the tossing waves.  Everything starts rocking in a disciple when Jesus isn't first.  The wind and waves start beating on the house.  It takes some real commitment in advance to carry you through the storms of the present.
Make your choice clear and resolute.  I am following Jesus.

2. Get rooted and established in love  Ephesians 3:14-21

We need an encounter with Jesus to really make things stick.  Deep down inside you and I need to know the love that leads us to follow through dark passages and windy waves.  Love.  Experienced.  The touch deep down in our hearts of Jesus and the reality of his love for "me".  It is critical.  It is something to wait for (Ps 27:14).  It is something vital to deeper journeys and longer travels.  It is essential oil in the soul, mind, heart and body to know the love of God.
A Sign of walking without love informing our walk is brittleness.  Without the water of abiding connection to Jesus we start drying out inside.  The kingdom manifests from within us.  Dry and weary divided hearts find living water scarce.  One thing leads to another.
A love encounter with Jesus requires us to wait for him.  To pursuie him in the quiet place.  To be real and honest.  To abide with him just for the sake of love.  This will totally change your walk with Jesus.  Letting love lead the way in the knowledge of the Son of God.

3. Embrace the Spirit of Adoption - Romans 8

Adoption can be a challenge.  We may have taken on some perspectives and mindsets that push people and God away from us.  For protection we may find it hard to attach to people or God.  We've adopted a protective posture toward the world because we believed we were on our own.  Embracing those feelings of fear, isolation and self preservation can damage our soul.
I have good news.  We are not on our own.  Never.  God is with us.  Jesus is always with us.  Matthew 28:20   God is working in and around those who do not know him.  Loving those who do not love him. (Rom 5:1-4).
Embracing our adoption is powerful.  You and I were chosen before the foundations of the world to be found in Christ!  He saw you and I before we were and purposed to bring us into the abiding grace and glory of knowing Jesus.
God chose us.  You.  Me.  It's good to say.  Try it.  "God you chose me.  And I am so happy you did."   Sons and Daughters have access to the family palace.  They have inheritance and all the blessings of total relationship.  They have family.  They have care and love.  They have the resources of the family.  They belong.
We have to learn to be family members in the household of God.  It's different.
Our former way of life was filled with despair, emptiness, endless searching.

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
 John 4:13-14

4. Bloom where you are planted -  I Corinthians 7:23-24  Apply discernment and wisdom - abuse, sin, injustice - not to be settled in.

When the pressure is on being anywhere else looks pretty good.  Yet, when we trust God in all things and follow Jesus walking in the Spirit, our lives are led by God.  We find ourselves in places that call out change, that point out our weakness, that encourage us to find more strength in God alone.
It takes wisdom (James 3:17-18) and discernment to know that we are walking in the Lord's will and way.  There is a learning curve to knowing this more and more deeply.  Often this is not discussed when we talk about trials and tribulations.
The sufferings of Jesus are also a factor.  The apostles of Christ suffered greatly for following Jesus.  And they rejoiced that they were clearly part of the Way.  The sufferings identified them with Christ.  They were persecuted for the sake of the Gospel and the world changing power it carried.  The Gospel of Jesus upsets the fallen order of things in this world.  It turns over the money changers tables right in the temple.  Everyone hears the call for repentance when it's preached.  Not all chose to obey it.  That's when some real challenging stuff may occur.  That's when Stephen was stoned.  That's when Paul was beaten and run out of town.  Don't confuse troubles and trials.  This world does need a shake up.  Jesus is the answer.

5. Start walking in the Word and Spirit   Colossians 3:1-3
The Spirit inspired the Scripture.  The Spirit indwells us.  The Scripture calls us to dwell richly, full of wealth, in the Words of God.  Walking in the Spirit in the wealth of the Words of God is powerful.  It will surely make a clear path for your way.
Believers today seem to be weak in the Scripture and words of God.  You don't need to be. There are so many awesome ways to be in the Scripture beside just reading these days.  There are bible apps that will read the Scripture to you from your phone.  You Version is awesome.  On your phone.  Free.  So many helpful ways to help you and I stay in the Scripture each day.
Walking in the Spirit mixed with the Word is abundant life and living.  The Holy Spirit always points us to Jesus.  (John 16:12-14)  He is always pointing out how amazing Jesus is and reminding us of his teaching.  If we have ears to hear we will hear the Spirit guiding us daily, hourly in the abiding presence of the Lord Jesus.  Amazing!!!
The Word of God - Scripture - renews our mind.  Gives us strength against the enemy (Ephesians 6:10f) the offensive weapon in our armor.   It is undeniably transforming.
So make a point of dwelling in it richly.  And as you do you will find walking in the Spirit much easier.   The Spirit inspired the Scripture!
When we are doing this we find ourselves.......
Colossians- 3:16-17
Ephesians 5:18-20

You can do this because Jesus is with you and he has already done all of it!

He did it for you and I.

That is enough for a worship time anytime.

Every Life Faces Adversity. Where do we get our Assurance?

None of us escapes the uncertainty of trouble and challenge.

Genesis 22:14  on the mountain it will be provided
Jesus said, In this world you will have trouble.....
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”  John 16:33

Where do we get our assurance?

Where do we get our ability to weather adversity without losing hope?

Where do we find strength to stand in the tremendous generosity of Jesus and help the Church?

In this world there is always bad news.  But I have GOOD NEWS!
Jesus overcame the world and all it's bad news.

My heart was struck with Recent knowledge of so many divorces – among believers that I shared so much joy with.

It seems the Saints spend a great deal of energy divorcing each other.
If we spend our time energy and efforts divorcing, deriding, tearing down
When are we building up in love, encouragement, strength and comfort in the Spirit?

We've turned speaking the truth in love to speaking the truth about each other from flesh minded small minded vision.   We serve a great God who is abundant in wonder and Love.

TRUTH -  shaped by the Father in Heaven’s word and welcome
The truth is we have an adversary.  That adversary is an accuser of the Saints.  He steals, kills and destroys everything from the good, good Father of Lights.

Stripped and defeated but alive and still roaming the world, he is enraged by his own undoing and the end of his free roaming destruction that is now in sight.

The battles we wage are for the souls of men. But they are discovered, initiated, directed, empowered, encouraged, fulfilled by the Spirit of the Lord.
We serve a King who is Alpha and Omega.  He Begins all things and he will End all things.

The edifices of hay wood and stubble built every day for the glory of man will not stand the tests of consuming fire.

The state of the church – appears to be mostly about just existing,

Getting by, surviving,

The church is made of of living stones.  Each stone make the people.  Each church family is simply a collection of stones ordered by the Spirit for works of love and service to Jesus.
So, if you and I are surviving.  If the majority of believers are simply trying to put a life together.  Then what makes us think the church, full of living stones who express a living Kingdom, is any further advanced than the stones in the house?

What would you say to an Army possessing every weapon required, all resources to overcome, incredible energy for victory, and a miracle working God who makes strategy in perfection of the work of Jesus?

Signs, Wonders, Miracles
In the O.T. the Ax heads floats.  In the N.T. common believers raise the dead and pray and cancer goes away.
What would you tell them? If you could get the ear of the Saints for a moment.  Total real listening moment?

I would tell them to Follow Jesus, Walk in the Spirit, Go with the Gospel and Disciple everyone in the teaching of Jesus through obedience.

Some don’t want to fight.  They just want to survive.

I don't want to survive.  I want to come alive!
Enduring becomes the battle cry of a survival mindset.
I have news.  OVERCOMING is the battle cry of the servants of Jesus.

Survival is an unacceptable state of the union for my beliefs, love, and knowledge of Jesus the OVERCOMER.

We are living sacrifices – we are going up in smoke on his alter of love and grace.
Make some Smoke!
Fan into flame the gifts of God in you!
Make some smoke!

We are dead.  We died with him that we might truly live.
We are empowered, equipped, victorious servants of a God who gets things done!

Contrasts

Enduring                                                                   Overcoming
Make our lives comfortable                         Make King of Kings comfortable
Eliminate problems                                       Overcome the world
Gain strength to make it through                Gain faith for miracle breakthrough
Surrender to what life throws at you          Surrender to the King of Glory
Stay the course                                               Listen for the creative Spirit wisdom
Hold on to what you've got                           Freely give as you have been given

·

Bill McCartney – Promise Keepers – Coach of Colorado Buffalos
·         First 3 seasons as head coach he won 3-4 games.
·         He lived his faith out in front – was highly criticized – but he believed in his mission.
·         He won the National Championship - Colorado won its first national championship in 1990 under the direction of head coach Bill McCartney, who lead the team from 1982 to 1994.
·         They plaid football with purpose – vision.  He built a family in purpose.  They dreamed big. They faced every adversity.  They overcame and became National Footfall Champions.

Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
I Tim 6:12

What brings the overcoming victory of Jesus to center stage in our lives  -  Walking in our Mission by faith in obedience– not problems, troubles, challenges.

Taking a stand – You’ve got to know what you are battling FOR!
12But Shammah took his stand in the middle of the field. He defended it and struck the Philistines down, and the Lord brought about a great victory.

God needs a man, a woman to take a stand.  To believe Him.  Then he can bring about a great victory.

This Gospel, this Kingdom of Jesus is going to bring the Way the Truth and Life to everything.

Uganda -  I see friends in my minds eye – I see the church and all that it needs – I see the simple and practical hope that a few simple things could do for them.
Breaks me up and shakes me up. Calls me to prayer and faith and the heart of Jesus for overcoming victory.

In Gods Economy of purpose – people are judged by “Well done.  Good and Faithful Servant."
Well done means there’s a piece of the purpose of God that can be well done or left undone.
Let's be the people that get it done with God -  A great victory is at hand.

THE ARMOR of GOD -  Ephesians 6:10f   The church needs to stand.  To take a stand and make a stand.
You and I need to stand.
Not in these models of hate, tearing down, jealousy, envy, in fighting, divorce after divorce.
We need to stand in TRUTH.  In
Righteousness, Faith, and
Receive Salvation

This Kingdom we are part of is
Righteousness
Peace
Joy
in the power of the Holy Spirit.
