Blown Away By Fullness - The Fullness of Christ is Endless!

I am blown away by the fullness of Jesus.  Like falling out of a plane at 20000 feet.  Vast Expanse.  Wide Open and unlimited.

Floating.  Flying.  Endless eye candy.  The world below out to the curves bending around the edges in worship.   Blue sky and white clouds oceans deep with wonder and glory.   Soaring with Joy across the devastated regions of the world.  Announcing freedom, chains falling off, glory coming and coming and coming in Christ our Lord.

Son of Man - Son of God - Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the whole world

Like never before Jesus is breaking into my understanding.  My world is crumbling at the same time.

As he gets bigger many things rise to the surface.
Cynicism.  Boarders I've drawn myself.  Fear.
Our modern focus on passion for Jesus and words of commitment are not needed when Jesus is filling up a life.

So much cynicism has invaded us.  Hearts and minds have melted under the heat of its incessant criticism.  It is so much a part of everyday life we hardly recognize the effects or its presence.  It is easy to swallow earth mover quantities of cynicism in one bite.   It takes little effort.  It is the language of brokenness and busted hopes.   It seeps into every crevasse and crack in our soul house without check.
cyn·i·cism
ˈsinəˌsizəm/
noun
noun: cynicism; noun: Cynicism

1.
an inclination to believe that people are motivated purely by self-interest; skepticism.
"public cynicism about politics"

Here is an equation I've been thinking about.

Cynicism 100% planted = 0% of Jesus perceived

Test for the equation.
Have you ever met a cynical 2 year old?

  Mat 11:25
At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.

Cynicism is not the language of children or the language of freedom.

How do we break out of cynicism?
Freedom is available through the Holy Spirit by asking Him what has lodged in your heart that gave soil for cynicism to sprout and grow?   It is amazing how the Holy Spirit responds when we ask simple straight forward questions.   Just ask.   Spirit what caused the soil for cynicism to grow in me?

The Second limitation is Boarders we've draw ourselves.
Over the years I've noticed moments when I see the boarders of my life and will and desire to move and follow the Spirit and what the Spirit really wants.   Have you noticed those?  Many people notice those in wild Holy Spirit meetings or in any meeting in which they are not sure what might happen next?  Or in a meeting when things are happening that are beyond the typical church gathering.   In those instances when I have purposed to receive all that the Lord has for me, I flourish in the Spirit and in the Lord.   The Spirit is good about keeping us in the truth (John 16:12-14) and letting us know when we are going off into a way that will not be good for us.  What happens more often is we are filled with fear (a definite sign that it is not God) and our flesh revolts against the presence of the Lord in power.   Intuitively we know that we are going to be stretched and opened up to the love of God and the freedom our spirit longs for but our flesh is in enmity with such freedoms.  Let the Holy Spirit smash any boarders you have thrown up.   We have no need to protect ourselves from God.  Keep in mind that the flesh cannot please him.  I you are used to running in the mind of the flesh you will sense his presence in identifying boarders, conviction and the need to repent.

Finally Fear.   Fear stands in the way, limits us and holds us back from the greatest love available to us.   Fear is not part of God's Kingdom.  Ever.
God is love.  Perfect love casts out fear.  Fear has to do with punishment.   Believers are not punished.  Disciplined by a loving Father, yes.  Punished. No.  Everything God does starts in love and ends in love.  A holy love burns in his eyes (Rev 2:18).  His Kingdom is righteous through and through.   Everything the Father required in justice was paid for in the blood of Christ Jesus shed on the cross.   The witness of Jesus in heaven is always before the Father.  And that witness is all the sins of the world are defeated in his blood and humanity gets to benefit from that by......believing.

The best thing to do in the presence of the Lord is to let go of all your boarders and fears.  They come up in his presence.  But they do not pose a threat to your freedom.   The Kingdom is a land of freedom and joy.

Surrender is the doorway to the free land of Christ Jesus.

So, even though things appear to be limited, the limitations are in the earth and not in heavens kingdom.   Go exploring.  Really explore.  Ask questions with the Holy Spirit.   There is so much more than we could ask or even imagine!

Leave Confusion and Disillusionment Behind. Three Questions to Ask the Holy Spirit

When our identity, calling and assignments are unclear challenges and trouble can become confusion and disillusionment.

When we are wondering usually we are not waring or contending.

Thankfully the Father has provided pathways in the Ways of God to help us as we fight the good fight of faith and travel with Jesus.  I've been exploring a few of the those of late.

Through a series of encouragements the Lord dropped three questions on me and invited me into a time of asking, seeking and knocking.  The journey called me into his presence to wait on the Lord, ask questions and remember.  Over the last few years I've discovered an exciting pathway that supports and expands the process of exploring these questions.  Here it is.

  • Ask, Seek and Knock on the prophetic encouragements, promptings and Scripture streams the Lord has been sowing my way.   What I mean is develop questions and ask how things relate or are important in what you have been given.   This has led me to explore deeply symbols and signs that were given in prophetic words and to dig and dig into the Scripture for more insight.   The questions that are raised in stewarding the grace and encouragements of the Father lead us to greater and greater understanding and revelation.
  • Keep track.  Write down and keep track of the encounters, revelations, experiences and in particular the understanding and encounters with Jesus that we have.    Take nothing for granted.  Listen always.  We abide in the presence of the Lord at all times.   Carny a notebook or journal and write things down.  Capture prophetic words, dreams, encouragements, things the Lord speaks and keep them in a steady available reference.   Compile them into a notebook of dreams, visions, experiences, encounters, miracles, healing, testimonies etc..
  • Return to the Testimonies.  As you compile responsiveness and continue to press forward in the knowledge of the Lord keep coming back to those things for encouragement, insight, prayer direction, faith prayer formation and obedience.   Your heart will find continued expansion in the Kingdom love and grace as you revisit the wonders of what the Lord has done in and through you.    Steward.  Deeply pursue understanding and wisdom in the fear of the Lord.   Return to the testimonies over and over.   This will do a few different things for you.

*It will grant you the continued grace of those testimonies and give you faith to bless others with them and the grace of the Kingdom they represent.
*It will release more revelation and Spirit activity as you obediently and faithfully use all that the Father is bringing your way.   Activation is key to the steady flow of revelation.   Give and it shall be given.

Sowing into the Presence of God in your life is critical.
Make sure when you sit down and ask these things of the Holy Spirit you actually have 1-3 hours to listen and study and follow the paths the questions lead you to in your life.   Have your Bible and journal with you and keep any dreams or prophetic words close at hand.   If you have one sit with your laptop so you can use online searches and bible programs.  Be ready.  The Lord may remind you of something long forgotten or misplaced.  This is active presence exploration.   You are going to move from point A to point B in this time before the Lord.

Online Searches - Bible programs?
Yes.  You are going to follow the lead of the Holy Spirit and go where ever he leads into deeper knowledge of the Scripture, the Spirit and the way he is leading you in.   Be completely ready to take action.   Clear set aside time that you can give over to the Lord.  Ready to keep track of things and write notes and Word references.

Is your heart ready?
It is critical to ask yourself before you start this journey, "Am I seriously ready to say yes to the Holy Spirit?  Am I ready to follow?  Am I hungry and thirsty?  Will I travel where he leads?   Hunger is key.  Are you truly hungry for deeper revelation of the Lord Jesus?  Does he have your heart first?  Is what he asks of you the most important task of your life?   The heart is where it all begins.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart....   First love is action in the love and connection with Jesus.  Say yes to the smallest things and see larger things grow.

There are some key things to remember here.
1. Jesus is the author and perfecter of our faith and of us.
2. We have no righteousness of our own.  Jesus is our righteousness.
3. If our hearts condemn us it is based out of lies about us.  If we have the Spirit we are found in Christ.  Stand up in our true identity in Christ Jesus.
4. Far because of sin?  Confess.  He is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.   Wow.  Freedom breaking out right here.

Now we are ready for the three questions to ask the Holy Spirit in Season.

Holy Spirit
What are my open doors?   Isaiah 22:22  / Revelation 3:7

Holy Spirit
What are my double Portions?    Isaiah 61:7

Holy Spirit
What dry bones do I need to prophecy to?   Ezekiel 37 / Hebrews 11:1

I would really like to hear back from anyone who move out with the Lord and asks these questions of the Spirit.
Comments or email
Did you get sitred up in the love of Jesus and remember who you are?

Saying yes to the Holy Spirit - Now - Takes Courage, Faith and Surrender. You can say YES!

Saying yes to the now move of the Holy Spirit....

Saying yes to a move of the Spirit is always a step of faith.  How do we know that?
Hebrews 11:6 "without faith it is impossible to please him."
Saying yes to God always means moving out from our controlled flesh mindset and into the wide open country of the Kingdom of God.   Jesus rules and reigns in total power, love and mercy in the temples of his presence.  Who will say yes, surrender and cry out,

Open Doors Clouds of Witnesses
"Spend me as you will."

In this worship something remarkable always happens!
This is the realm of "nothing is impossible"
This is realm of grace flooding weakness.
This is realm of the glory of Jesus as he transforms us to be like him.

If the Holy Spirit is drawing you, calling you, stretching you the response will require faith.   And Yes.
When he is leading doors of grace, hope and love will swing wide open .  Everything required will be activated by faith.   Streams and rivers will flow in faith activated grace, power and love.  The clear path to pleasing God is saying yes in faith.  Trust is right there calling us to trust the Spirit and the Character of the Father.  Trust is built as we abide in any and all circumstances in the sustaining grace and overcoming power of the Christ, Messiah, Savior of the World.

"Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world"
"It is finished"
Christ has done it.

All the sins of the world gone; all of them.   What power.  What love.

Saying yes to God always involves RISK.
Going farther than we see ourselves going.  Why?
I believe it is because the Father loves to glorify the Son in us and leads us to places where we can see incredible breakthrough if we walk in faith through the power of the Spirit.
Glory gets released and poured out when believers trust and walk by faith; believing the Father and the words he has spoken over them. Prophetic encouragement guides us as we steward the words in the times and seasons of the windows opened through them.

In the Spirit, I believe it is time to cross over.
To say yes again and to receive the expansion the Spirit is bringing right now.

Running after God equates to the best life ever lived.  The designer knows how to bless us within his designs.   When he is leading and providing and blessing and expanding nothing compares in all the earth.   There are abundant flows of never ending expanding grace through the doorway of "YES".   He loves to show us who he is and lead us right up against the powers of darkness; powers that need toppling.

"He trains my hands for war"  Psalms 144:1

Taking the land of promise- requires frontrunner vision of the Lord and what he is doing.
God requires us to walk in faith and he provides overview insight through prophetic guidance, dreams, visions and the company of the Saints.  We are given grace to know the times and seasons in which we dwell.

A Now Word - Cross over and Help Your Brothers and Sisters attain their promises
When the tribes were crossing the Jordon to take the land the three tribes that received an allotment east of Jordon were Ruben, Gad and Manasseh.  Each tribe was called to go help their brothers to conquer the land of promise.  Once completed they could return home to their land and families.   It is interesting the tribal characteristics of each tribe crossing over with allotments east of the Jordon.

Ruben - Firstborn - frontrunner - First one
Wikipedia pic
Many are being called to be like Ruben.  Running first in the fragrance of the Mandrakes and warring with God's revelation.  Ruben runs out in front and leads the way.  Agreeing with heavens first mandates and carrying the presence and fragrance of Christ in front running grace and power.

13 The mandrakes give a smell, and at our gates are all manner of pleasant fruits, new and old, which I have laid up for thee, O my beloved.
—the BibleKing James Version, Song of Songs 7:12–13[3]

Gad - The Cutters - Cutting the way for the other tribes.

Gad makes a way in the Lord's leading.  Gad cuts through every hindrance and makes a way for all to follow in.   Gad carry's war in his finger tips.  Grace and power in action is Gad's inheritance.   Gad is the Lord's pointed tool for breaking rock and stone.  Jeremiah 23:29  "Is not my word like fire," declares the Lord, "and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces."

Manasseh - Loosing from Egypt - Deliverance and agreement with righteousness revealed.
Letting go of the mindset of the flesh (Egypt) and running into the promise of the Lord, Manasseh leads the way to responding to the Spirit in letting go the past, the vestiges of dependance on the flesh and of being free to run into the land of promise.   The army of deliverers and deliverance hearts need to rise and set free the people of the Lord who are captivated by every kind of unrighteous hindrance.

What we have to take in is that many are called and few are chosen.  There is a call going out for each of these characteristics of the Tribes.   Each part will carry us forward.  He doesn't chose anyone else if he has called your name.   That idea that he will move on to someone else is questionable.  The reality may be that what the Father longs for in the inheritance in Jesus through each of us is not accomplished it we do not say YES.

"As each part does it's work."  Ephesians 4

We may have built escapes for ourselves that relieve us of responsibility for the key role each and every Saint plays in the accomplishing of perfecting the Bride of Christ.

The three tribes said in response to Joshua's call to action and to crossing over with the fighting men, "Whatever you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go."  (Joshua 1:16)  Profound agreement with heaven resides in this statement.  Pure alignment in all categories.   Beautiful.

So we are called to say to Christ Jesus,
"Whatever you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go."

Every day has the mercy, grace and love needed to dwell in the Lord' presence, power and peace in perfection.

Isaiah 26:3

SAY YES again.

I Hear the Sound of a GREAT AWAKENING - Do You Hear it?

I hear the sound of a GREAT AWAKENING.  America's needs a Great Awakening.

It is coming.  Off in the distance now, but not far away, it is uncompromising and determined.
The earth is roaring.   I hear a deep sound vibrating beneath the ground and gaining momentum each day.
The water has receded.  Just like before the tsunami arrives.  When all the water is sucked out, way out, before the wave appears.   The ground is exposed and things that have been underwater are now seen clearly.    Each day more and more people are seeing clearly into the brokenness and heartache surrounding us and filling up the nation. The Holy Spirit is confronting us with righteousness a fresh and bringing the healing and breakthrough we need.  In the process we are learning to fight the good fight and stand.

Do you hear a Sound?
Is it the sound of the Father revealing the Son in the power of the Spirit?

So many are talking about tsunami's and tidal waves and impending judgement and economic collapse.   In prophetic ministries and prayer houses around the country people are pointing to a harvest beyond understanding.  Dreams and prophetic words call for making things ready and preparing ourselves and our eyes to see the move of the Spirit underway.

  •  Jesus is revealing himself to hungry and thirsty hearts - in profound presence encounters.
  • A righteousness is being revealed that is healing what was thought to be "UN-healable" and restoring what was thought lost.  Boarders and boundaries are coming down in the fulness of the Spirit.
  • Lost messages of the Kingdom are returning with grace and Spirit power.  Jesus is being lifted up more clearly and higher.
  • Heightened Supernatural activity and encounters are everywhere and in all peoples who are hungry and thirsty.
  • Waves of increasing revelation and understanding are connecting the Word and Spirit in power and love.

What does it sound like?

Small amounts of the new wine have flowed into churches and ministries giving life to hope and renewed faith.  We've seen wonderful and unprecedented things.    They have come in waves of healing and spirit outpouring.   Love and unity are filling up whole cities with a new and powerful dynamic of cooperation and prayer.   The House of Prayer is rising higher and higher and ministries are uniting across all kinds of traditional boarders to lift up Jesus and minister to the Father in the power of the Spirit.   Prophetic encouragement is riding on waves of renewed hope and love.  The Saints are learning to contend for their promises.  The character of the Father is becoming our sole measure of trust and confidence.   It sounds like the presence, power and peace of Jesus Christ rising in the hearts of his people through the Word and Spirit combined.

Are you experiencing these kind of things in your church family, city, or personal life?

How do we become part of it?
1) Hunger and Thirst for him alone.  Allow the Holy Spirit to lead you through any and all circumstances with his presence and to activate hope and patience through endurance.
2) Welcome the righteousness of Jesus Christ.  Continuously open your heart and life to the enlarging of encounter and love of God.  The Spirit is already calling out the Firsts of the Word - First Love - Kingdom and Righteousness first - Prayer and Presence First.  Don't resist the changes the Spirit is calling for.  Let things go that don't help you stay in encounter and the presence of God.   Seek the Lord while he may be found.  Respond to the visitation of the Spirit by giving yourself over to him....for hours.

Ex.  Over and Over and Over I was captivated by the revelation of the Lord Jesus during worship filled prayer and intercession.   Literally overwhelmed with the righteousness of Jesus to the point where it felt like I was never a believer before that moment.  But I was and had been following Jesus for 30+ years. Weeping and worshiping, I found myself caught up in hours of new understand and insight from the Word of God about Jesus and the way.  The Spirit called for new action in my life and new orientations to prayer and his presence.  I said yes at each turn and found more and more encouragement and love and support and breakthrough.

 3) Welcome and abide in the rivers, lakes, stream and ponds of his presence.  Fill up the heart with first love for Jesus and his power and strength to ascend the mountain tops.  Center your life in the presence of the Lord.  Focus Prayer for ministry on the Father and abiding in the perfect work of Christ.   Rest in the presence and draw on endless wells of grace and love.   Welcome and receive the Lord Jesus (Ps 24) as the King of Glory.

4) Embrace the cocoon - It is time for a butterfly transformation.  To welcome this move of the Spirit requires transformation and change.  All that can be shaken will be shaken.  What remains is love, faith and hope.   The Lord has shaken us and poured into us new life and spirit power.   The way we have been walking, climbing to the high leaves of the tree tops is not sufficient for this time and season.  A butterfly is more apt a description.  Soaring on the wind and flying to the fragrance of divine nectar.   Learn to fight and grow in strength as you grow wings and pass through the transformation of flying.   A whole new way of walking in grace and love is upon us.

There is so much more.  Let the wave crash into your life.  Let it wash out all that is not aligned with Jesus and the Word.   Surrender afresh to the King of Glory.

Recieve the smallest waves of the Spirit in the light of the Lord.   Welcome each one and all the changes that come and are called for in each wave.  He is coming to us in wave upon wave of glory and new life.

Welcome Him

Receive Him

Are you experiencing a fresh move of the Holy Spirit in your life, church, region?
I want to hear about it.

Do you think a great awakening is coming to America?

As always thank you for your comments and input.

The Crisis - When our strength empties out and we are over the top beyond our abilities....

The Day of our weakness is the Day of His strength perfected in us.
Jesus is all we need.
"Love is the canvas" Sonya Day

This is not really the place we love to dwell.  We like strength.  Especially when we are exercising it and seeing the results we expect.   That feels good.....to the flesh mind.

Jesus told the great apostle Paul that in his weakness the strength of God was perfected.  That is a key word.  Perfected.  Made perfect.  Telios.  Completed.

The most amazing thing occurs when we run to the end of our rope and surrender in weakness.  Jesus fills up everything.   This is a true place of access and worship.  Choose to worship and invite the Lord's strength when all you have is gone.   The true heart desire of our soaring spirits is to be filled to overflowing with the Spirit.   Right?  This is one of the key pathways the Spirit leads us to.  Weakness.

When we are in the crisis of weakness the opportunity is present for tremendous grace, love, insight, power and spirit infilling.    The other kingdom, the one ruled by Christ and unfolding daily with his reign of love and power, comes alive in us with a source of strength and life that we cannot know otherwise.   His kingdom power flows freely through our weakness.  It is like a river that fills up every empty place; as long as we embrace it and allow that river to flow.

When we are spent, beyond ability, overwhelmed and personally unable to keep all the pieces in our understanding, then in power and grace the Kingdom of God fills our mindset, understanding and spirits with a peace that passes understanding, a revelation that goes to the eyes of the heart and a knowledge of the ways of God that will never be taken from us.  We actually see multiplication at that point.  We actually can experience the power of God within us right then.   Total personal crisis is open opportunity for the power of Christ Jesus to flow freely within us.

Welcome
Recieve
Embrace
Bloom where you are planted

Being in control, balanced and within our strength is highly over rated in this Kingdom of God we are part of.   That seems to be more flesh mind driven than Jesus Spirit driven.   So many people around Jesus were befuddled by him, thrown off by signs and wonders and the things he did and said.   So wonderful it is to be near Jesus in weakness.  HE will become our understanding if we allow him.

We need a mindset shift.  A transformation.  Like a butterfly, we need to emerge from the cocoon of our own control and surrender every fiber of our being to the one who can save us.  His salvation jumps into our spirits and souls like a consuming fire and fills up every part of us.   The more we believer at every stage the more he fills our weakness with his strength.   Out of the flesh mindset and into the mindset of the Spirit.  Christ in you the hope of glory.

Jesus was very clear....

"I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. John 15:5

Nothing happens in the Kingdom without the direct will of the Father, orchestrated in the perfect work of Jesus and activated by the power of the Holy Spirit.   Beautiful.

What we get in the ways of God are beautiful connections with him forever.
Don't reject your weakest moment.  Embrace them in the love of God and see what happens!
Welcome Jesus into that moment and see what he does to completely change the world around you and the world inside you.

What to do?

1) Embrace your weakness and ask the Lord to fill it with his strength.  Turn away from always having to know everything and be up on everything.   Trust the character of Jesus as you follow him.  Repent of trying to keep everything under control.  Of planning out everything so much that God has no voice in your life.  Of controling everything to protect your heart or your life from others or even God himself.  He is jealously in love with you.  He wont let you stay like that very long....all up in your strength and having none of his.
2)Welcome the Holy Spirit.  Let these kind of weakness moments be opportunity.  Ask the Spirit to fill your weakness.   When you are up against the wall emotionally, physically, spiritually, mentally, ask him to fill you right then and right now with his strength, wisdom, love and power.  He will.
3) Ask for love to fill every void.   Jesus showed us what love was.  It was to lay down our lives for our friends.   The people closest to us should get the best rewards of His Kingdom love.  The Kingdom works inside out.  Family - Tribe - Nation.   Let love fill you when you are washing the dishes or cleaning the toilet.

Bottom line.  When you let the Spirit fill you in your weakest places you invite Jesus to dwell with you and in you in power.

Just a reminder.  Our weakness provides a great opportunity for the world to witness Christ in us!  Come Lord.

Comments?  Testimony?  I would love to hear from you.

Have an amazing time in the Lord.  He is all we need.

Unity is ours to Keep not to Make. Jesus is our Unity

Unity is ours to Keep.   Not to Make.

"Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace." Eph 4:3

Unity is a foundation of the Kingdom of God and the core reality of the Trinity.  It is not unusual or special.  It is the bedrock of Heaven, all her creatures and the Kingdom family on earth.

Unity in the world is unusual, special and extremely powerful.  It is hard to come by. When it is in motion amazing things come from it.

The tower of Babel showed us that unified humanity can accomplish incredible things.
Modern accomplishments when people combine in co-laboring unity and strategy???
Going from horses as the mode of travel to landing on the moon in 100 years.   Yea, that was some kind of amazing products from unified humanity.

Years ago I noticed a subtle difference regarding unity.

It is ours to keep as an assignment from heaven.  Not ours to make as a human effort from the earth.   Unity is the foundation of the work of Jesus.  One LORD.  One Faith. ONE God and Father in and through all.

This is very important.  Carrying the weight or cause for unity does not mean we strap on the weapons of the world and coerce people into action.

Taking that route is a terribly burdening pathway.  Carrying this burden was not meant for us.   Jesus carried it and perfected it in his perfect worship as he walked in the Father's will.

In ultimate reality and the Kingdom of God,  Jesus is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end of everything.  He is in all things and through all things and all things exist for him and through him.   A very powerful thought if you let it sink in.

Jesus is the Voice of God at this time. (Heb 1:1-3)  There is no other voice.  Jesus is the Trinity God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  He is the unity that will ultimately reconcile all things to himself (Ephesians 1:9-10).

That is why the author of Ephesians can cry out,

There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.… (Eph 4:4-6)

Churches, believers, schools, movements do not generate the unity of the Kingdom.  Jesus does.

Unity already exists as the base reality in heaven and in the perfect work of Christ.  When the redemptive power of the blood of Christ combines with the healing power of the cross of Jesus, the true unity of the Kingdom is poured out in abundance.   There is no unity without the healing and humility of a servant of Jesus.  The heart of love and the revelation of the Lord's perfect work in the cross empowers our energies for receiving and welcoming the unity carried in the Kingdom of God.

Unity reflects healing and righteousness in real relationships.
Unity is established in love, surrender and following Christ as the first love.  Any real unity in the Kingdom will reflect the Kingdom and righteousness first.  It will be childlike and like Jesus.  Laying down its life for its friends is the kind of unity Jesus builds (I John 3:16).

Jesus identified this unity as "one as we are one".
The Father and the Lord Jesus perfectly unified, moving together, honoring one another, pouring out love and reaching out to each other, they co-labor in perfect unity.  When this revelation of the Father gets displayed on the earth the key apologetic cries out, "Jesus has come to save".   Our unity is central to the world believing that he was sent from the Father.   Wow.

"I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; 21that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.  John 17:21f

The apostolic heart of the Lord Jesus calls for unity around the presence as a

primary mission.

  • praying together as churches and fellowships (maybe once a year - it's a start)
  •  worshiping together in the presence - unity experienced
  •  uniting in city-wide prayer and cooperating together around impacting ministry and mission.

These are good expressions of the unity Jesus won for us.  There is so much more!

Shaking things with unity power and a singular focus on Jesus.
24/1's  Twenty Four Hours of non-stop worship and prayer - Nearly every January for the past 5 years our fellowship has hosted 10-25 churches and ministries to bring in the New Year with worship and prayer for 24 straight hours.
It is awesome.
To dwell together in Jesus, celebrating all the expressions of his love offered by so many and to have the privileged of being in his presence for a long time....nothing can beat it.

It speaks loudly to the world about one thing.  Jesus.  Nothing else happens but prayer and worship unto the Lord Jesus.   It bears witness to a tangible expression of love and serving the Lord together.   That is all the gathering is about.  Being in his presence unified, activated in love and prayer.

In 2014 we had ministries from all five of our surrounding cities.   The earth seemed to shake with unity power.

Are any other forms of unity, ones without Jesus as the center and originator, of any value to the Kingdom of God?   Jesus was clear, "you can do nothing without me" (John 15:5).

We are well versed in cultural paradigms that promote brand unity and identity unity around a cause or program.  As organizations with a ministry focus, there is great emphasis placed on this type of action.  We get so intentional with our local fellowships we fall into a hole of every focus on what is for our fellowship or ministry.   This kind of intentionality is outside of the heartbeat of the ministry and wider love Jesus has for all the Saints.  Why are we so weak on the most powerful expression of the work of Jesus?  Unity.  Why is love for one another not considered on a church to church level?

Here are some questions to ask about the unity we are experiencing or lacking:

1) Is it dependent on Jesus to exist?  Is he the glue, the reason it is held together?  If not how can it bring eternal praise to him or grow the Kingdom?
2) Is it focused on love and service to the Body of Christ and the world?   (I John 3:16)
3) Does it produce Kingdom fruit?  Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness....?  (I Corinthians 14:1)
4) Can it succeed without God?  Does it need God to sustain it and be present to give it life?  (John 15:5)

The Body of Christ may not have a proper taste for unity.  A unity that is rooted and established in Jesus versus the common cultural understanding of running projects in our day.

It is hard to know what is missing if something has never been tasted.

It is hard to endure in hope when you've tasted the power of unity in the Love of Jesus and the freedom of the Kingdom of God when it is struggling to find a footing.

I understand the pathway to unity to be:
  • Jesus originates it, died for it, culminates it and is first as the focus of it.
  • Jesus sustains and brings the healing that advances unity.
  • Jesus fulfills the call to unity by his relationship with all of us- as diverse as we are - he is as in love with our cantankerous brothers and sisters as he is with us!  He does not respect persons.

The key to unlocking the door of unity in the Body of Christ is JESUS.
