All Things are Possible Without Love - LOVE like Jesus Instead - It Lasts Forever

Got to love the Corinthians. 
They were zealous pursuers of everything supernatural.
The church in N.T. that has troubles because they run head long into the supernatural realities of the Spirit and the Kingdom of God. 

What kind of problems did they have?
Divisions 
Misguided understanding of spiritual things
Power seeking politicizing leaders vrs generous loving servants
Comparing and dividing leaders
Zero discernment of evil - incest in the fellowship
Suing each other - defaming the body to the world
Confused about relationships 
Confused about idols, food, reality of demonic
Confused about freedom and benefits of love
Misuse of the Temple of the body 

And......lots more.  

They took the word of the Lord literal and jumped headlong into the supernatural.  And.....they had a really limited discernment, wisdom and love.   
Huh? 
I've met a few like this.  Have you?

Ok. So our tendency to write off other believers because they have a few problems is detrimental to all of us growing up into Christ.   
Yes.  Our present day charismatic family carries some of these same issues.  But, think positive.  What was given to us because Paul sought to address their problems while seeking to reflect the fullness of Jesus?  

The Corinthians gave us some of the most read and publicly stated portions of Scripture - the Love chapter  I Corinthians 13.
 In doing so, their problems became correction points for Paul to give them deeper understanding of the truth of the Gospel and what it means among us. 

The Church is.... the people gathered where the fullness of Jesus Christ is both invited to be present and empowered to be demonstrated. 

So Paul points us to the most important things to grow, encourage and strengthen among those gathered in the NAME of Jesus. 

1.  The greatest most lasting fruit of eternal life is........LOVE. 
2. The people among whom God's love can find it's highest expression are those who follow Jesus. 
3. The strong among us are to be....

The last among us.
The servants among us.
The people laying down their lives for the little ones.
The hospitable.
The faith filled hope filled lovers of the world - even when it spits in their face.

Instead we see those who claim the highest places - spiritual insights, the prophets, the charismatic, the bible guy, the intellectual mr. perfect doctrine, the "i've got this thing together" self righteous -  

sowing discord, judgement, envy.
James 3:17-18  is clear.  Such things are UN-spiritual, earthly, demonic.  

I Corinthians 13  - What stands out?

It's possible to walk in, experience, bring to the table "high Spiritual things" and sound like this.








Bang, Clang. Noise. Confusion. Smash.

 

 

 

 Sadly.  YES.  It is possible.

 

 Does Jesus sound like that?

Not that I've heard.  ?

   

So then, what does love look like?

Love is known when it's experienced.   When it's not.  it's clear. 
Do you feel loved?  
Love is completely simple. Uncomplicated.  So tangible when experienced there is no question about it in our minds.  


Well.  Sometimes looking at what love is not is easier for us. 
Clearly prophets struggle with love. They can "fathom and know" and have no love.


"Therefore there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus."  Romans 8:1  
Prophets that condemn are speaking outside of Christ Jesus! 
The real prophets speak in the Testimony of Jesus - Rev 19:10  
Therefore true, righteous, good prophecy carries nothing of condemnation, shame, anger, reprisal, - these are demonic.  
To place them in league with Jesus is both terrible and trouble. 




"For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."  John 3:17



What is it?  What is LOVE?
First fruit of the Spirit's presence. 
The first motivation of the Father.....God so loved that he gave his son....
The first point at which the world touches Jesus - Jesus loved the Father and did his will in and through love.


I John 3:16  This is how we know what love is.....like Jesus, love lays down it's life for its friends.

Love believes all things for it's friends

Spiritual activity without the blessings, grace, peace and the order of love is pure noise to heaven and on the earth.  

First Fruit of the Spirit? - LOVE 

As for other matters, brothers and sisters, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more.  I Thess 4:1

Love is like Jesus
Love gives, blesses, serves, encourages and always believes. 


James again....sheds light on the opposite of love.  James 3:13-18
  Bitter Envy - jealousy - Braggarts - arrogant 

Beloved.  There is Nothing more reprehensible than a religious person who believes they have the secrets of the Kingdom, the insights, the mysteries - but does not demonstrate love. 

Nothing worse in revival -   like chewing on gravel  -  than pride filled arrogant people walking in what appears to be spirit activity but who demonstrate no love.  

In revival the criticism of the World makes sense.   - yea, ouch - but it makes sense.
Clearly it does not make sense when love is not among us.  Believers.  People believing and hoping for and living for life transformation and eternal life to spring up in those around us through the Gospel.....  


There's possibly nothing worse in revival than arrogant men and women who think they are, have, hold the revelation and all the mysteries..... and have not love.


But here is the true killer -- when they are unteachable.  


in sports.....
My experience is the hardest teams to bring into winning are those who lacked one primary, necessary, absolutely essential ingredient.    What is it?  

Teachable --- Humble ----- Love.

Disciples at the core are TEACHABLE -  humble --- LOVE.
The commission of the church - of all Kingdom leaders is to "teach them to obey all that I have commanded you." 

TEACHING -  Growing  - Changing - Responding to LOVE is essential.




People who are not teachable -----Proverbs sheds light.

A false balance is an abomination to the LORD, But a just weight is His delight. 2When pride comes, then comes dishonor, But with the humble is wisdom. 3The integrity of the upright will guide them, But the crookedness of the treacherous will destroy them.…

When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.


The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, But a wise man is he who listens to counsel. Prov 12:15


Error carries away the unteachable. - Egyptian proverb. 


It is proven.  The most destructive people in a revival are not those outside it, ie...the world.  It is the unteachable, arrogant and unbending fools who elevate themselves above the believing community, sow discord and judgement, condemning those very ones they supposedly bring enlightenment to.   
N.T. example - the Pharisees - who did all this in the face of the Messiah, Jesus, the leader of the greatest revival of all time and the ONE who Changes EVERYTHING about reality as we know it.   
Right in his face they did all this. 

What does that look like in the church today?
Jude is powerful - and lays it out quiet clearly.  
Have a quick read of this one chapter powerhouse in discerning the fools among us. 

So, What is it that signifies, marks, disciples?

They love like Jesus. 
They follow, walk, go and disciple - in love like Jesus.
They follow Jesus walking in the Spirit, going with his gospel, discipl-ing those who respond to the message in love like Jesus. 
They open their homes, hearts and lives to those without. 
They lay down their lives for the will of the Father - loving the undeserving and unloved like they were.
They love the world like Jesus.

flowers grow in the desert!

Love for Jesus, first love, zeal - unquenchable, ever growing, always learning, humble - James 3:17-18   They demonstrate love in wisdom.

• Walking in purity
• peace-loving 
• Considerate of others
• submissive - responsive - teachable 
• full of mercy -  mercy triumphs over judgement
• good fruit 
• impartial 
• sincere 

Disciples of Jesus according to Paul are...
Patient
Kind
not full of envy, boasting of themselves, proud,
 not dishonoring others - rather loving and honoring others above themselves.

Honor is not demanded by the way - honor is given. 
To create a place, a people who honor, is to give honor where honor is due. 
To be the one who honors. 
Start with the "little ones" among you. 
Those who you receive no benefit from serving or having over for a party!
This is a picture of the doorway to love like Jesus.  
Have a party for those who cannot repay you in any way and who you will gain no benefit for hosting.  That's the love Jesus is spreading around the world.  

Blessed are you who are poor for yours is the Kingdom of Heaven!  Matt 5:3/Luke 6:20

Love is not easily angered
it keeps no record of wrongs -------   how many of us need to step into this right now?
Love does not delight in evil.
It rejoices in the truth ( I am the way, the Truth, the Life - Jesus)  

Love always

• protects
• trusts
• hopes
• perseveres

 

LOVE never fails -----  God is love and he never fails.

Open Heavens Environment - So Fun and Rewarding Despite all the Opposition and Struggle

Over the last few years I, along with an incredible band of Jesus followers, have had the privilege of serving in a refreshing move of the Holy Spirit.   

The Spirit’s activity has led to daily marveling.    

Here are some gathered testimonies from this season.  Things I have seen and experienced.

Yesterday, fourth of July outreaches and gatherings.....
The Sick and others prayed for - life threatening diseases, broken bones and broken hearts. Gas purchased for stranded people, 700 waters given out at the parade, family hang out at the fireworks, 

Healing, both dramatic and life changing for people who are not at the location of the prayer, prophetic grace and confirmation from hundreds of miles away, dreams and prophetic words from and the presence of the Lord have been upon us regularly and consistently for years.  Worship, though rough at times and lead mostly by high school and college students, has been a consistent open doorway to heaven's revelation.  Ministry flows out of the worship in word of knowledge, prophetic encouragement, healing and healings without anyone praying for or touching people!   The Holy Spirit is filling new believers with his power and love.  These are rich waters of his presence. 



 In amazing new ways many have been blessed with the emergence of dreaming again in the vast oceans of the Father's love and grace.  Hearts have come back to life.  Families have come into the Kingdom.   Demons have been cast out and the whole landscapes of the region have been affected in deep prophetic intercession.  Crown and Throne presence prayer (Crown - Sons an Daughters in prophetic assignment and inheritance based authority and word driven intercession Throne - connected to the heavens agenda and authority of the Lord of Lord's informing and filling with wisdom and love the action and pathways of the Saints) is growing each day.   


Demonic strongholds are falling to the sound of his presence and the power in the unity of the Saints.  The house of prayer for all nations is rising day after day and will one day become a 24/7 prayer mountain in our region.   In our Capstone Christian Fellowship Family we have broken through to some places of rest as kingdom family.  We call it apostolic family.  It is family in Kingdom pathways and the ways of God and not in denominational culture.   The supernatural is moving in exceptional ways in many peoples lives.  

Our city has broken through to new levels of unity as the fivefold ministries unite in advancing the Kingdom in our region.  24 hr prayer has gained a foothold in all kinds of worship burns, prayer initiatives and unified prayer.   in 2013 there were 5  24/1 worship burns in Central Oregon.  Upwards of 30+ churches and ministries joined together to worship and intercede and dwell in the Lord's presence for 24 straight hours.  They have all been amazing.   Deep new pathways of intercession have opened up and the joy of his presence has increased like rings going outward on a lake. 

The presence of the Lord has been packed with encounter after encounter and what began in personal encounter has moved into the corporate gatherings.   Personal encounter of the Lord continues to multiply along with healings, prophetic words and calling out latent passions for the Kingdom and the King.   Dreaming is natural to this atmosphere along with remembering prophetic words and things that Abba Father has said to us years earlier.   

Awake oh Sleeper
Rise from the Dead
Let the light of Christ shine on you. 

Prophetic dreaming has been off the charts with more divine dreams happening than in whole seasons.  The increase has been in both literal dreaming and dreaming in the Kingdom.    

This past Sunday a prophetic voice dreamed about the sending of our worship leader out to new fields.  He saw all the clothes the people wore that day in the dream the night before.  The same day the worship leader introduced a song about the "Future / Past by John Mark McMillan.   

I was teaching about the Alpha and Omega. 

Our Jesus.  Inheritance.  Swimming in the wisdom of his perfect love and joy.

I wrote all things out before the worship leader introduced the song.

"You, You are first, you are my last.

You are my future and my past."  

"You are the beginning and end"

The eyes of my heart burst into soul crushing revelation of the Lord Jesus as we sang the words above.   

The mystery is unfolding.  The mystery is being revealed.  Christ in you. The Hope of Glory. 
There is a moving and stirring of the waters around us. 
The Spirit is calling up the fountains of the deep and confirming prophetic callings.
Hope is rising and a new day dawning in the Spirit.   

Hearts are waking to the wider presence of The Lord moving in these days.  
The minds of believers and whole churches and regions are being opened up again to a vibrant understanding of The Lord Jesus as the beginning and ending of all things.  
 
Prophetic ministry is arising, deepening, and entering into multiplication.
Great teaching and Pastoral voices are receiving new revelation and insight into how all this plays out in the day to day of the church.  

Day after day the Lord is moving forward preparing the ground for a great and significant harvest of souls.  He is prepping the families to receive the new born children of his loving kindness.   

"Seek the Lord while he may be found,

Call on your God while he is near."  Isa 

God is so Good.  Jesus triumphant.  The Spirit so steadfast in loving kindness.
Praying for your region to come alive!  
May salvations stream into the Kingdom in remarkable numbers.  
We wait for you God of the Nations.  

Ps 27:14

Put up some smoke! Thinking Past the Cross? Christ - Resurrected and Ascended!

The Cross is the Doorway to new life.

 

but we don't abide there.  

 Yes.  We pick it up each day and rise into the new life he created for us.


Jesus was three days in the tomb and then Resurrected. 
Front-runner
Forerunner 
Firstborn from among the dead.
Resurrected from the dead.   
Then he ascended directly from earth to sit down at the right hand of the Father. 

Jesus is the one person who changes everything about life, about now, about the future about everything we know, touch, think, feel.  

    

We are resurrected from the dead if buried with him.  Romans 6:3-4 

Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus 

were baptized into his death?

We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, 
just as Christ was raised from the dead 
through the glory of the Father, 
we too may live a new life.



New creations.  
New creatures. 
We passed over from the dominion of darkness into the glorious dominion of Christ. 

LORD of ALL   Phil 2:9-11
Faithful Witness of the Father's will 
King of the Kings of the EARTH.  Rev 1:5

We have the mind of Christ.   I Corinthians 2:16
Christ lives in us                          Col 1:27

We are to die daily and embrace the cross, 
and then we are to rise and ascend with him.   

Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.     

Luke 9:23 

 So do we walk around dead all day? 

Some believer do.  

They are so focused on themselves, their short-comings, their sins. With them as the focus they never put up smoke filled offerings.  

We are living sacrifices  Romans 12:1-2

We are risen with him to new life. 

Put up some smoke.  

Get the places you live your life filled with smoke from the offerings you make as a living sacrifice.  

In the Cross Christ put to death our sins by his blood.

In his resurrection he conquered death and erased it's sting forever. 

Believers rightly focus on the cross. 

But often we leave out the victory of the resurrection.   Unless it's Easter. 

The Resurrection is the game changer. 

It is the new life offered to us in the power of the Spirit. 

It is new mindsets and new ways of seeing the world through the inheritance of Jesus.

The resurrection is the new man loose on the earth. 

The new man who is no longer a slave to sin.

The new man or woman is not preoccupied with defeating sin. 

They are pre-ocuppied with living in the walk of the Spirit.

Sowing to the Spirit. 

Walking in the Spirit 

Living in the reality of the rule and reign of Jesus. 

Dynamic Abundant life rooted and established in the love of Jesus is resurrection life. 

  

Typically Christians rightly perceive the power of the Cross.
Typically they camp there and don't live in the power of resurrection. 
Rarely do we hear about the power of Christ and the forever realities of him siting down at the Father's right hand.  
The full circle of his power, love and inheritance, are three; the Cross, the Resurrection and the Ascension.  

IT is FINISHED!   
Nothing can shake the reality of his Kingdom which is here upon the earth and advancing daily.  
The Gospel of the Kingdom includes all three in the power of the Spirit.




Paul says, 

And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. ¹⁵ More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. ¹⁶ For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. ¹⁷ And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.  I Corinthians 15:14-17


Sin Death and the Devil were defeated in Christ through.....
The Cross
The Resurrection
The Ascension
All Three core realities of the work of Jesus making a complete inheritance for us in the Lord Jesus. 


Don't get me wrong.  The Cross is amazing.  I never cease discovering the wonder of the Cross and the power it carried in defeating sin and setting us free.  I die with him to live with him.  My life is hidden in him, seated in the heavens, just like yours.  It is discovered daily through the power of resurrection life.  

The resurrection is the discovery of the new eternal life here and now upon the earth.  A life filled with the power of his Kingdom rule and reign. 

 We are to be like him here and now.  Not in some far off day.  The true and real power of a Christian life is rooted in Christ through love and powered by the reality of resurrection life in us now. 

Without the Resurrection and a clear sense that we are a Kingdom of priests, a holy nation unto the Lord, we can find ourselves stuck in sentimental cycles of powerless faith.  Rather we are called to overcoming victory and power through Christ our LORD.  Called as those who are walking the earth with a resurrected power and mindset.
