Close the Door - On the Jezebel spirit.
We proclaim Christ, dependence and trust in him, walking in the Spirit and abiding in the way, truth and life. (John 15; Col 1:28; I Corinthians 2:1-5) To close the door, trust the Lord and rely on him to guide your steps. Benefit from the wisdom and fellowship in love to gain wisdom and understanding. Put faith in the front of all your steps. The Kingdom is not "of men or through men". Gal 1:1 It is a spiritual Kingdom originating and operating in the rule and reign of Jesus.
Close the Door: The Jezebel likes to step into authority vacuums.
Step up into your authority and close the door.
Saints who have or are abdicating their Kingdom authority open the doors to the Jezebel spirit. This spirit gains access to high levels of relationship through abdicated kingdom authority and Kingdom assignments.
Example: The absent father in American life. In many cultures the father is a strong and present figure guiding the family to life, peace and fruitfulness. In America many segments of society have absent fathers. The church and Kingdom families are no exception. Fathers go silent and numb within their own household or they leave altogether. The loss of the authority designed by the Father of Heaven to lead, protect, bless is a huge void. Nurturing health filled family and prosperity is the place of divine authority the Father has in the Family. When there is an absent father, an abdication occurs. Along with the absence of Father figures all kinds of evils penetrate the family. God designed the father to be responsible for the spiritual life of the family. When Christian men abdicate, go silent, allow others to lead in the household, the alignment of the Kingdom goes awry. The void is created by abdication. I believe there is actual grace from God designed to uphold, bless and encourage Fathers in this task of blessing their families.
Principle: The Kingdom is received and is the rule and reign of Jesus Christ. By faith believers walk in and through the Spirit their divine gifts, callings and assignments. These graces carry with them authority and grace by measure. (Eph 4:11 ) In turn by faith these kingdom graces are stewarded by disciples in faith, hope and love. When believers fail to mix faith in stewarding the grace imparted to them they leave a vacuum of authority. In the spiritual realms what has been imparted as grace in assignment lies dormant unless it is mixed with faith and action.
Example: An Elder is an overseer of the flock and is to apply the rod and staff to guard the flock from false teaching and wolves. A clearly impure spiritual expression is presented to the flock. The Elder senses correction is required, but the Elder fails to act, correct or address the situation with redemptive love and grace. They have abdicated their authority position within the Body and have opened the door for an impure authority to fill the void. As the scenario is repeated without righteous action being taken on a few occasions, the seeds are planted in the whole congregation. Kingdom authority is acted upon in grace and love by faith. It is a stewarding function. God provides for his flock so as to bring her into the fullness of the glory of Jesus Christ. Abdication leaves the grace un-stewarded. Which in turn opens the door for every unclean thing to advance and fill the void.
Scripture Insight:
Genesis. Adam and Eve are given authority to tend and care for the
garden. They allow Satan to enter and dwell there. They did not exercise
their authority in the grace assignment given to them to oversee the
garden by expelling the deceiver. Eve and Adam were deceived and fell
through relationship. Deception entered in relationship and established a
dependence outside of the God of the Garden’s plans. Essentially the
deceiver planted the seeds of doubt about the character of God and the
ability to trust him. These two are core foundations in relationship
with God. Through relationship in the garden, which Adam and Eve had
dominion over, the deceiver was allowed to abide.
The original and most basic deception attacks trust, the word of God, and God’s withholding of good things.
“Did God really say….” The voice, the testimony of Jesus, the prophetic grace is doubted. The Word of God is undermined and silenced. Jezebel
“You will not certainly die….” translation - God is lying to you. He is holding something back from you that is good. You cannot trust him or his words.

Close the Door. To close the door on an authority vacuum is simple. Act in faith in what you know the Lord has spoken to you. Be diligent in walking in the Spirit and in obeying his directives, assignments and finishing tasks. A prophetic church will have multiple voices speaking encouragement, grace and insight from the Spirit. Look for confirmation of what you already know. This type of prophetic activity is meant to strengthen you in the call and assignment on your life. It also provides a shot in the arm for a lack of confidence. If the Spirit confirms your understanding of what you are intended to do and already know but are not doing, receive the grace and mercy and move out in faith. Finish the task.
Of Ministry as identity and belonging
Close the Door on Co-dependent lifestyles and approaches to ministry.
Ministry is from Jesus to the world. We are stewards of grace received. We serve Christ (2 Corinthians) and receive our rewards, support and encouragement from God. Any distortions of this abiding focus and origination of Kingdom ministry leads to many mis-aligned and broken cisterns.
Jeremiah 2:13
“My people have committed two sins:
They have forsaken me,
the spring of living water,
and have dug their own cisterns,
broken cisterns that cannot hold water."
When ministry originates in Christ through the Gospel and for the advance of the Kingdom, we share in it as stewards. We do not originate the Kingdom and we cannot grow it ourselves. It is the rule and reign of Jesus. The Lord gives assignments and sends us into the harvest fields. We do not appoint ourselves or take upon ourselves authority or assignments. They are received from Jesus and walked in by faith. Through the power of the Spirit mixed with faith and action the Kingdom is made known in the world. When ministry provides core affirmation for life and people are attached to a co-dependent leader the Jezebel can move about freely. Leaders and people of a co-dependent environment share a symbiotic relationship. They mutually benefit from the order, affirmations and patterns of the relationship. They feed on each other, benefiting from unhealthy patterns of affirmation and emotional support. This type of ministry environment is fertile ground for the Jezebel spirit.
Close the Door of revelation and charismatic experience equaling prominence and authority.
Paul hammered the message over and over to the most charismatic church, the Corinthians. Love is the greatest of all things expressed through the Kingdom of God. God is love and love is the best fruit in the work of Christ Jesus. Revelation, while very impacting when it is driven and stewarded for love, is worth nothing without love. Revelation does not provide authority or position in the New Testament Church. Every member is responsible as a priest to weigh and discern the spiritual environment, prophecy and honor spiritual leadership.
Jesus gives authority and position and then through his government calls out further levels of leadership and service in laying on of hands. In the Kingdom, authority is given by Jesus and by his five-fold government. The scripture says, apostles and prophets are the foundation with Jesus as the cornerstone. Ephesians 2:20
The deception of assigning authority to revelatory actions or insights in the church over and above leadership or the Scripture is a huge open door for the Jezebel. Acting like a prophet and one with secret knowledge or insights, the Jezebel becomes the point of dependence rather than Jesus himself. As Graham Cooke notes, “we do not need a prophetic word.” In other words we do not need the voice of a prophet to guide us. The Holy Spirit has that central place in our lives. John 16:12-14. When we over depend on prophetic guidance we give the modern prophet the wrong place in our lives.
Close the door of prophetic ministry exercised without love and honor.
Of secret and shameful ways - Secrets of Satan - special knowledge and information.
When relationship is connected and has the appearance of unity and when dependence and deception are woven into it, the Jezebel moves to embedded itself into your wider networks.
Using your relationships, the Jezebel seeks to entangle and conscript as many as possible to her fear based control. Under the guise of ultra spiritual demonstrations and insider information he or she spins connections that depend on brokenness, unhealed soul wounds and UN-crucified flesh (reference John Paul Jackson). The fuel that makes for the Jezebel connection or open doors can come in many forms. These three are typical. The appeal is to the flesh, the soul and agreement with darkness in unhealed wounds.
The the flesh and the soul are the main realms of the Jezebel. This is an important and basic point and a key of discernment when discovering the presence of this spirit. The enemy does not have access to the Spirit of God or the Mind of Christ. Likewise the enemy has no share whatsoever in the Kingdom of God. The flesh is perfectly capable of moving in unclean realms of witchcraft and false prophecy. The flesh can appear spiritual, bring forth false prophecy and abide in demonic knowledge with no problems (Jeremiah 27; false prophets beware). False prophecy is real and has ancient history. We are warned by Jesus to watch out for false prophets. “They come in sheeps clothing.” The fruit is the sign. Fruit takes a little time to grow. Look for these signs.
Love and grace producing encouraged people who exercise faith and move out in love and devotion to Jesus.
Example: Secret knowledge or things you cannot know right now. Withheld information. The Jezebel spirit likes to present itself as having a higher knowledge or spiritual insight.
Now I say to the rest of you in Thyatira, to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets, ‘I will not impose any other burden on you, 25 except to hold on to what you have until I come.’ Revelation 2:24This is counter to the message of the Gospel. It is a blessing to the poor in spirit and those with nothing in the world. It requires no special knowledge and can be comprehended by a child. The idea that God doles out secret knowledge to a few extra insightful or spiritual people is a deception. Once bought into, this type of deception sets up the Jezebel to control her adherents with secret knowledge and wisdom. The need is created for spiritual guidance and insight; then prophetic words, dream interpretation and special insights can be used to keep people bound to the Jezebel.
Close the Doors of Dishonor and the culture of accusation without witness.
This simple change alone will stop the Jezebel attacks from escalating or developing. Yes, church leaders are fallible and fail. The numbers of moral failures and men of ill repute is quite low compared to the vast army of servants of Christ working tirelessly to bring the salvation of the Lord to the Nations.
Scripture Guidance: The Elders of Israel conspired with Jezebel to bring a false witness against the inheritance of the Lord. Jezebel forced the Elders of the town to call a meeting, bring forth false witnesses and attempt to kill Naboth. Jesus was brought forth, paraded before false witnesses and condemned. The false government will always seek to destroy the vibrant Spirit life of the Church and its true government.
