How far can we really go knowing God?
How deeply can a person travel into the knowledge of God?
There is no end to discovering the Trinity God.
There are creatures in heaven covered with eyes.
They have surrounded the Throne for timeless time.
They see something new in God with the smallest movement. Never ending praise breaks out from inside and fills their mouths.
Over and Over again they glimpse a new wonder in the nature and character of the Trinity God and fall in worship. (Rev 4:6-11)
No wonder the wonder is required in Christian worship.
It's to bad that vast numbers of churches seek to "reduce" the mysteries of the Godhead into palatable bit sized meals mixed with heavy doses of 10 steps and words like happiness.
Of course people drink it up. Not unlike how we keep returning to McDonald's. But then we know what happens to people who eat there for 30 days straight.
Paul cries out,
"Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! 34For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, OR WHO BECAME HIS COUNSELOR?… Romans 11:33-34
I've heard believers say, "Where is the wonder in worship".
Where is the wonder in our vision of the Lord Jesus, our understanding of his boundless and overcoming Kingdom? The wonder of the mystery of losing our lives to find them?
All this dumbing down of the power, beauty love and mystery of our God for the sake of effortless awe and wonder is clearly showing it's true colors.
Paul again says that it is our understanding through revelation of Jesus that opens up the vast expanses of his nature, character and love.
"I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God." Ephesians 3:17-20
Words like fullness of God and a love that surpasses knowledge don't make for assembly line people making. These are words of deep lovers. Words that forge family devoted to Christ. People overwhelmed with a love that flies deep into their souls and spins a tapestry of good good works. LOVE, PEACE, JOY, KINDNESS, GENTLENESS...on and on.
American Christianity has the tendency to fixate on what fills the MIND. Rather than a holistic worship. Worship more naturally finds rest as it is more like the God who made the world in all it's vast wonder and beauty. Worship that includes emotion, the body, the visual, the deep and abiding presence of God. It is vast boundless expanse filled with power, beauty and love.
How far can we really go knowing God?
As far and as deep as you desire. He is unlimited. What an invitation. An invitation to an amazing life. A life alive to the presence and knowledge of God.
A life free of the wrath to come.
A life of abundance in relationship with Jesus.
Jesus rebuked a very disciplined and doctrinally pure church for something they were missing. Something more important to him than a check list of proper complete and correct thoughts.
He rebuked their lack of love. A love that made all other things look second.
A First LOVE. (Revelation 2:1-7)
We are like God. Made in his image. The world's emotions only reflect his vast creative energies and love. A first love is what Jesus won for us. A love that led him to the cross in the will of the Father for US. For the joy set before him he endured the cross. We are that joy!

Step into the wonder of the Mind of Christ and Christ in you the hope of glory.
Explore First LOVE.
Everything else finds its peaceful fit when Christ is First LOVE.
